G'day Mark

I think Awareness Hands are our energy counterparts of the physical. Using AH is learning how to use/be in the energy body, and so has the added bonus of acclimatising our minds to using our non-physical bodies. Just my theory on it, anyway!

I have experienced what you refer to, with AH going over primary centres.... I think (for me) it is my awareness of the energy and it's impact on my AH. It can also have the reverse affect in that my AH will impact on the energy centre.

One of the alternatives to awareness hands I use, is dressing myself in 'light' clothes..... like pulling on socks, up the legs.... and allowing it to tingle/soak in to my bones. My awareness hands are still in operation, and my fous is shifted.

I have yet to have a fully-conscious OBE (although I have had several spontanneous ones, and semi-lucid ones) so for me, using my AH is training for the ultimate outta body LOL But sometimes my NEW focus is more on energy sensations, than manipulating them.

Great to read your posts Mark!

Cheers

Aha... (Awareness hands awareness)  The training wheels getting in the way?  For some reason I never got into imagining the hands (too distracting) I would find myself holding my arms/hands very stiff as though I was trying not to actually use my physical hands.  And for some reason I always stir with a stick (dont ask why) there is no hand holding the stick, just a rotating stick.  Once I imagined a thin silver rod, almost pin-like (I'm laughing cause the effect gave me a start).  It's like narrowing/sharpening/pinpointing your MBA.  I do remember someone commenting on the forum that changing your implement (hands/stick/brush) has differing effects.

I think you need some sort of MBA.  How would you guide the flow of energy?  I suppose you could intend that the energy would flow a certain path, but even as you have the thought, you are imagining the path - I guess if you were sensitive this would be enough.  Otherwise how is the energy going to be deliberately raised?  It's all thought/imagination/intention...  When it comes to imagination - anything goes, I think you can make your awareness hands real to you.  To me, it's like being a sculptur, only your material is energy and not clay.

Hey Mark,

Personally I have found that after a while you just move the energy around directly with your mind. It is a bit like re-creating the sensations, but not quite . Similarly activating chakras can be done direct, in very little time once you are used to how to do it. But I couldn't for the life of me explain how! I suppose cos we all have different sensory reactions to the energy and our minds work in different ways, you just have to experience yourself and see whatever works.

Sometimes I find that if I target my awareness into too sharp a spot (without moving), it has a detrimental effect and may even cause blockages. Energy bandage thing is like the opposite of this, over a large area. Also, if you do it direct, I think it *may* be possible to overstimulate the centers but you would have to be really trying.

To be honest I don't get on well with my awareness hands, they seem to have a mind of their own especially when climbing ROPE (few seconds at most, they they go all krazy and off at tangents)

I love this new forum! Slick....

I have been using NEW for about a year and a half now, and I'm at the point where I no longer use my awareness hands to move energy, with one exception: Whenever I am in pain, or I have an injury, I imagine my awareness hands rubbing the spot, and more often than not, the pain goes away, but tends to come back when I stop rubbing. I had surgery on my appendix about a month and a half ago, and the incision is almost completely gone, because I have been using NEW on it every night. In fact, the day after surgery, I could walk around with a bit of difficulty, but I doubt that I would have been able to do that if it weren't for NEW.

I have only just started using NEW with any regularity and find AH quite good for targeting specific areas. My mind is always running at a mile a minute so to counteract getting restless with only working on one area I have grown an extra two AH's and work on up to four areas at once, i.e. both hands and feet at the same time. If I run into a trouble spot I usually rest two AH's and get the other two to work in joint for a litle while. Initially when working with AH's I had difficulty with relaxing my physical arms but have now got use to having them as seperate entities! :) They can go anywhere and do anything they want and are not tied to motions only my physical can do, so I have no problems with twisty turny movements.

I suppose though, the best thing to do is what feels most comfortable for you. As long as you know the energy is moving where you want it too then use whatever tools work best for you.

I noticed a few people on this thread having problems controling their awareness hands.  What you need is to exercise them.  Robert gave a great example of "thinking" your awareness hands as if they were holding the pedals of a bycicle and rotating them.  Then try to stop and reverse the action.  At first you may find that your hands tend to want to keep going going in the same direction and refuse to stop.  If you are right handed you may find that your left will stop but your right keeps on turning on its own.  Only practice will get you slowly overcoming this "inertia" and in better control.

Try out several different actions that you can practice with your awareness hands but start with simple stuff like clapping your hands or raising and lowering your arms, then move on to "pat-a-cake" and contrary movements such as touching your nose with one hand while touching your knee with the other, then patting your head with one hand while making a circling rubbing motion on your stomach with the other (hard enough to do with your physical hands!).  The most difficult to control are repetitive rotating movements since your arms seem to get "locked in" to the motion. If I concentrate really hard I can get my hands to pedal contrariwise to each other.  Practice, practice, practice!

These can be fun exercises and you can get a lot of laughs out of feeling your hands flopping around all over the place, but it's very useful even if you no longer need awareness hands to move energy around your body.  As Donni said, it's good training for controling your astral body when you OBE (Donni, where are you luv?)

I've find that the more energy work I do, the less I use awareness hands (AH). I still use AH for very specfic targetted actions like thin brushing and stirring actions (using awareness fingers). And I also use AH when I need to very firmly and clearly center my awareness somewhere--I "grip" that area before continuing. However, I've found that for large or twisty-turny energy movement that AH almost seem to get in the way. If my real hands don't bend and and move in a certain way, sometimes I can get my AH to do it and sometimes I can't. Also, sometimes I can't get my AH to get a "grip" on the energy, and even when I do, it seems like they're just along for the ride. I've had great success though just "pushing" energy where I want it to go with my mind. It's a vivid, resistive rush through that part of the body. (only recently) Maybe I just need more practice with my AH. :) So, are AH invaluable mental tools because of the way our brains are wired, but only "crutches" (in a good way) to get us started? Or are AH real? What is real, anyway? :)

One last thing. Sometimes when I'm carefully pushing an awareness finger across the surface of my body and I happen to go over a primary energy center (chakra), my awareness finger "dissolves into" that area of my body. It's difficult to "feel" that part of the body because it's hard to keep anything together there. Has anyone else experienced this?

Mark
