damn.  well i'll have to try this.  maybe it was written in the future tense and a long long time ago would still be the future compared to now.  he doesnt specify.  and if u try and make me look stupid in front of all of my friends again i'll have to come up w/ some other way to show everyone that my mom was right when she said i was special. :)

what what are ya gonna tinkle on me now ??

hehe

sorry man just popped into my mind. I kinda like the idea of Star Wars NOT being our future. But other than that, I can't really help you with your question about god in star wars ... I wouldn't really think too much about it - it's just a bunch of movies, right? I mean one shouldn't put too much meaning into something like that - imagine you wrote a book just to entertain people, and everybody's trying to find some hidden meaning in every word and scene ... I think that would really tinkle me off ... or make me laugh real good.
blaeh ... now that was a dirty reply

but hey, don't worry, you're still SPECIAL :)

thnx friend.  it's just easy to praise star wars w/ the force and such.  it kinda goes along w/ what we're doing.

It's not god it's Midicaloreans.  And I am guessing on the spelling.  And as described in TPM they are a microscopic organism.  In which case our concept of god is wrong.  That being he is just really huge and everwhere, but no he is just really small and hard to find.

And it takes place in the past, just not our past.  Or our future.  If you want to look at it another way.  The Aliens already went through all that and now they are bothering us.  I guess after all that fun there wouldn't be much else to do.

And just on a side note fred, "special" is just one of those words used to be nice.

I saw a documentary a little while ago about Religion in Star Wars and George Lucas said that what he was trying to do was tell the old stories from lots of various religions in a new way. To try and bring them to a new generation.

Hi all

Ahh STAR WARS, a favorite subject of mine. Notice how they don't seem to have any radio or television or such things?

I've often wondered about the "Medichlorians" in star wars. They are like a cross between our DNA & the word Mitochondria ( the power source in our cells) except they seem to vary in numbers in different people,(like Annakin) unlike mitochondria in our science.

Another thing that makes the whole star wars series seem even more interesting is to substitute the word "Force" for "Astral". Makes a lot of sense in the context of OUR time here & now.

Good journeys all

Aaaahh, good old star wars...  perhaps someone could connect my name into it, in some way? ;)   I´ve actually been greatly inspired by it, and instead of like some people do when they face a situation; ask their higher self what to do - I ask myself; What would a great Jedi Master have done? hahaa...
My ambition is to always be loyal the light side of the force...

The Jedi Code;
There is no emotion, there is peace
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge
There is no passion, there is serenity
There is no death, there is the force

May the force be with you ;)  //Padawan Qui-Gon jr.

I read about a woman author who wrote a book just to write it, but people who read it thought it had some ultimate deep meaning. People were constantly asking her what it was and she would just tell them that there wasn't one. I kind of see Star Wars the same way. It's a good set of movies, but that's all it is. I know people who argue over this point or that point, or this after story in such and such a book...  If nothing else, I think Lucas should be proud to have made such an impact on or society. Or the rest of us should feel dumb for taking it so far. Either way. And in my personal opinion, special is just a nice word for expensive.

George Lucas has said himself that he wanted to rewrite the stories and beliefs of some religious systems into a story for the new generation. To make it more relevant and accessible nowdays. Read the link I posted above which is an excerpt of an interview he did. http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/images/icon_Smile.gif" border=0>

I thought that link was kinda cool.  It is interesting.  I like the fact that he really didn't write it to say that there is or is not a god but to just get you to think about it.  To question the posabilities.  It seems he has done just that.

is god mentioned in star wars?  i don't know too much about star wars but the movies are excellent.  i'm wondering if it takes place in the future.  i assume so w/ the light sabers and such.  i was thinking that god may be 'the force'.  maybe the same force that holds all them little atoms and nucleuses and such together that science can't figure out.
