What does everyone think about this war?

Go read the HOT Topic "How Long Have We Got Left?" for some stuff about what might happen after this war...well at least what we think. Very interesting topic.

About this war? Bush can't be an anti-christ cause he believes in God. Saddam isn't truly muslim, just like most other terrorist/evil middle easterners. They just blame it on the Muslim Community to make everybody hate them, just like Communism or the Jews[].

But Bush really just wants the oil I guess. This whole war on terrorism thing is nuts and I bet even Monkey-Face Bush knows it's just a feeble attempt to make people happy.

But then again maybe I'm wrong

I agree this war is wrong.
everyone agrees that Saddam is a Maddas but invading a country because they 'might pose a threat in the future' is not valid or legal IMO. You can't invade a country and impose democracy on it, the whole principle of democracy is that it comes from the people and the people have to make it happen, just like they did everywhere else, Romania, Serbia, Russia India (when it was under British rule). Sure you can give them aid and so on but actuallyinvading is wrong.. Bush seems to think that iraqi's will 'thank US troops for liberating them' but if you actually talk to iraqi's you will find that no, they do not like Saddam but at least he is one of them, they would not appreciate foreign powers coming in and taking over the country.

The biggest danger is that 'pre-emptive strike policy' which basically just means we can attack whoever the hell we like and screw the UN, sets a dangerous precident.
Where next?
he US likes to critisize the UK for its old image of going around 'policing' the world, but this is just what the US is trying to do now!

I support it wholeheartedly and one of my very own family members is over there risking his life for his country and the Iraqi people that will be freed.  I will agree that when things are taken care of, we should not stick around because that is not something I agree with, but those people have been tortured and ridiculed for decades.  They weren't able to even be human.....I'm sorry but when that happens, something does need to be done.  

I support Bush, I support my troops, I support freedom.
Its not all about oil...believe what you will but that just wouldn't make sense.  If you wanna see something all about oil, the main reason russia is against the war is because of oil.  Thats it, thats all.  

As far as policing the world goes....yah well...it sucks, but unfortunately the world is a very volitile place, and the US and the UK are about the only two powers in the world that can do that.

firstly, i too have a friend out there, but i do not support the war, and i don't know how anyone who posts on this board can support ANY war involving ANY country. especially this ILLEGAL war. Democracy? Hahahaha. Yes, you are free. JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE HATE THEIR ADMINISTRATION DOESN'T MEAN THEY HATE THEIR COUNTRY. THEY LOVE THEIR COUNTRY BUT HATE THE ADMINISTRATION BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY'RE DOING TO IT.

secondly, it IS about the oil. there are many worse leaders than saddam, he just happens to live on oil-rich turf.
as we all know oil is a major contributor to our way of living, and america do feel they need to be in control. they are going to bomb the f*ck out of iraq and then basically say "we will help you rebuild your country and give you aid if you let us control the oil".
they are also using saddam to take your mind off the fact that they haven't been able to find bin laden. remember, saddam and bin laden are NOT the same person. people seem to care now more about getting saddam. bin laden has done far worse things to your country, yet many repulicans seem caught up in 'saddam fever'.

thirdly, a war is the best boost for the economy. remember 1929.. great depression..? then remember post-1945? much better.
bush is personally making millions from this war (http://www.takebackthemedia.com/index.shtml). Plus war is the best thing to take your minds off domestic issues. the state of education and the health system here in england is bad. yet, nothing of this nature has been on the news or in the papers over here, and i presume its the same in america. you need to turn off your televisions and stop reading the newspapers. bush and blair have the media in their pockets, so all you are reading is propaganda.

and my final point of this rant is this.. blair says "once we've smoked iraq to the ground, we will help to rebuild the country". well i have news for you. he can't even maintain the health system over here, let alone REBUILD ONE FROM SCRATCH within the ruins that will be post-war iraq.
