When I finally woke up from my heart attack (double bypass) I could not speak but was asked if there is anything I needed.  I had to spell out MP3 on my blanket which my wife finally understood.  I don't remember much else from that time,  but I was up and walking the next day. I had so much pain and that music was such a wonderful thing for me when I needed to heal.  Music is a wonderful healer.

Using music as therapy might sound strange in an age where medicine is relying more and more on science and technology, but the benefits of musical treatments have been known for almost 1,000 years. Modern medicine is just starting to understand how it works.
