Problem with this is that she and others like her should it make more clear often that it is "their" belief. But they don't. They state these things as "FACT" to their clientele instead of stating that it is only what they derived from their own experience (if at all). Unfortunately there are many gullible people out there who are beginners maybe and are exposed to her 'information' only before they ever go somewhere else to get a different viewpoint. Hence the fear porn keeps sticking with them or even prevents them from going on.
You do have a good point.   I was lucky that I had a number of aps so I had some knowledge.   I was able to separate what was sensible and the ridiculous things.   If I knew nothing then that might have been different.   I could have fallen for it.  I was very lucky.

That's just it though, it's not a belief or opinion to her.  It *is* fact to her.  Honestly, I wouldn't want anyone to say anything that wasn't at the very least a personal truth.  She's only doing what we all do here: speak from her experience.   It's just unfortunate what her experience includes.

The things I teach here are personal truths... The difference though is that I try to recognize the fear-based experiences and attempt to nudge people away from them.  Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  Hehe  I'm encountering some people like that on Facebook right now in fact.  LoL

So I can't really condemn Erin for what she says, but I can try to guide people towards a more Love-based approach.

Some of the people teaching a.p. methods say to use white light protection others dont .  I guess its kinda like carring a gun with you in a dangerous part of town .  Nothing that I have read from Erin has scared me . Maby its that I read books by Monroe , Buhlman , Sutphen , ect. I dont know .  Its her ex. Steve that I could just never under stand .

Once you realize that white light is only a tool you use to focus your Intent, you're free to leave it behind if you want and use whatever you like... Or nothing!

Too many people think that their tools are objective and that they must be used in a certain manner to "stay safe".

Honestly if someone told people on their website that ap is beautiful and easy and you don't need a psychic to help you, then nobody would feel the urge to fork over hundreds of dollars. I'm not downing her either I realize this is her source of income. Who wants to pay money for her help if "it's really not needed"??? :?

Before I knew this site existed I did buy programs. But to me that told me the seriousness of my mission.

...and they were helped immensely. But they weren't hell bent on Fear scenarios and Demons though.

I don't understand why she would even want to AP herself if she finds it such a place of Horror.  :?

Rachael Hicks

Me either, I would do everything in my power not to ap if i was having such a hard time like she does. I agree with buying material, I've bought books from Llewellyn, Monroe, McKnight etc. there's a difference in buying material than buying 'advice'. Advice and opinions are like a**holes Everybody has one  :-D

Interesting....

I've met some one like Erin Pavlina......
Totally into demons and all that. Said they followed her around and tried to steal her energy.
The more I talked to her, the more I realized she needed that. Needed to have some thing
scary to make her feel strong and powerful around others. Like me, who's experiences have been
largely positive and good.
To each there own I guess !

But look out !

That's about the same as I see it.

You are indeed very lucky. I hadn't had  sufficient experience so I did fall for it. And it stopped me from attempting AP for a few years. I wonder how much would have been different, had I only found this site on top of the google search. I did find it eventually couple of months ago but it was because of my inner voice telling me I really should try to learn to AP and to overcome my fear by doing more research. And this forum was the key factor in it. but then, I can imagine many people stopped trying AP for the rest of their lives, not only couple of years, because of these fear-mongers.

So... this leads me to an question: Don't you guys have some spare money you would like to invest on behalf of this site so it would always pop up at the first place on google? :-D Please note: I don't. :-D :-D :-D

Astralzombie

Here's the thing. Major religion has AP locked up tight.

People are warned that not only are their lives at stake but so are their souls and that's eternal they like to say. It's so dangerous, that even entertaining the idea, is enough to invite trouble for yourself and more than that, innocent people. We can't even try to ration our way out of it.

But many of us only find ourselves here because of spontaneous events. I knew what AP was in a very broad and ignorant sense but I was always smart enough not to dwell on things like that because we get tempted (a belief trap) but rest assured I was told, I did do something to bring this on myself.

There is a saying that is sometimes credited to the Catholic Church (see how I used capital letters out of guilt :-D) but I have doubts; "Give us the first seven years of a child and they will be ours forever." Creepy, right?

It doesn't mean that in a literal sense but it is true never the less. It sucks to admit this but we really do stay pist off at mommy and daddy our whole lives for not buying us ice cream that one time. Obviously, many people grow up to drop their major religions or convert to another but whatever concepts or ideas that were implanted into them at that early age will be with them forever.

For all of our advancement, we are still very naive thinkers. We believe in opposing ideas simultaneously (double think) knowing that one is false yet we make decisions based out of the fear that arises from it each day..-I need this to be happy, surgery to be pretty. All we need is food and water for our bodies and clothes suitable to our environment and we stand a chance to live but we need each other to be happy. Primitive thinking now compels me to say that I am not a hippy.

Educational institutes are dumbing down their curriculum to churn out more passing grades. This means that in a very real sense, knowledge is being withheld in order to meet standards. Religions are destroying spirituality instead of nurturing it every time they bend to political pressures of the day. Now don't get me wrong, if something is right then it is right but why did the eternal word of God suddenly change? Governments are passing more and more and more laws that take something away our freedoms instead of protecting them.

It's all so very backwards. :? :? :?

I'm sorry, what were you saying? :-D

hah, the last post reminds me of that famous quote by M. Ellner (more or less summarising it):

Hey Astralzombie and Volgerie....

You nailed it ! I know a guy who is always sort of mooching around and complaining about stuff...
And when you try to cheer him up he says nothing can be done for him because "Once a Catholic always a Catholic "...

I know a woman who is an alcoholic... But she will INSIST that beer is NOT alcohol  !

I read once where there is a law on the books in California that says suicide is a capital offence !  :? Not sure
how they would work that one....

Did you know that Alaska is one of the few ,if not the only, state where one is allowed to choose  medical treatment...OR NOT ?
I know someone who went to the emergency room in Washington once because he was feeling bad after eating at a KFC... (duh...)
They wanted to emit him and when he refused that they called the cops, who threatened to tazer him if he didn't sign himself in !

I mentioned the Erin Pavlina stuff to my husband, and he says he figures sites like that are government set up and run, just to put
fear into us to keep us from exploring and learning and knowing our true selves.

I've read blogs and such that were of an 'alternative' nature as it were...and some of the comments were just nasty...
And I have to wonder...if people really hate stuff like that so much...why are they reading it ? Why comment ?
Are they being paid to do so, or are they just  nasty at heart ? Its so sad...

How did we get this way ?

No offense, but for a bunch of people that don't believe in this nonsense you sure are giving it a lot of energy and advertising time.  How many times did someone say to go to her website?

Why?

similar topic regarding fear-mongery: I made the mistake recently to read into David Icke's forum, oh my, I can tell you .. don't do it

for example, just today I read some of them make a conspiracy even out of NDEs, one says that we shouldn't follow the light as we are being all 'conditioned' now by these accounts to do it and who knows, we are all tricked by the dark side ... and so on ....

No, I shouldn't go there and read this, after all these people seem actually even more scary to me than the ones they make conspiracies about (reptilians and all that)

Fear not my fellow APers. Last night on Coast to Coast AM  Dr. Michio Kaku (speaking on advances n Neuroscience) said that one day we will have that "Magic Pill" that we can just take that instantly allows us to travel the many universes. He says they have located the area of the brain responsible for OBEs and NDEs.

Here's the show Header:
"In the first half, Dr. Michio Kaku discussed the astonishing scientific research on the mind being done in top laboratories, based on the latest advancements in neuroscience and physics. Our mind is the most complex object, perhaps in the known universe, and now some of its mysteries are being revealed as we are able to peer directly into the thinking brain, he marveled."

Why is it that whenever I hear news like this I get a shiver up my spine, lol? But not in a good sense.

I have no problem with science figuring out how these experiences are physically happening. It doesn't take anything away from it. There has to be a mechanism that allows us to have these experiences and understanding the mechanism does not exclude a higher purpose.

You made me realise how lucky I am that I had lots of ap experiences.   I would not like to be put off aping.  Reading your thread reminded me some years ago I belonged to a group called Beezlebuub's teachings or something like that.   I did not like the name but I went.   I am glad I went because I had a lot of fun.   There were other people to talk about ap and we had lunch together.   The people were nice and friendly.   I was doing a course, so I bought a book from them.    Some parts of the book was evil.  We were taught to imagine that we had a rope around our neck so we would be hung or something like that.   It was supposed to make us go up another level or dimension.   It was a long time ago that I read it so my mind is a bit rusty.   The book also talked about demons.   I could not understand how anyone could believe in this.   I did not go back again.   I wanted to throw the book into the bin.   My children burnt the book.

It's strange how they know so much and so little at the same time!

According to Michio here, they are trying to create a CD rom of your personality and traits so one day consciousness can survive outside of the body.

There is a film coming out kind of like what you're talking about, called Transcendence. It has Johnny Depp in it, Just thought I would share ;)

So he's also promoting the materialist-transhumanist agenda. The Kurtzweil of physics, so to speak. I never liked this guy, mainstream media seem to let him go everywhere spreading his pseudo-science on their channels. He is also into alien fear-mongering a lot.

Here's a propaganda movie on transhumanism where they also talk about this "CD"... (... and be warned ... it is a horror movie for the awake people indeed):

Thank You for the link Volgerle!  :-)

I can see what's happening here. They are trying to imitate earlier civilizations. Earlier civilizations used the power of a collective consciousness over materialism to create a society. Today we have the materialism, now we are trying to use it to create a collective consciousness, via machinery. But we are doing it all wrong.

We don't need to "create" something we already have. All we need to do is to learn to use/harness it towards positive means.

I'd like you say something about Erin Pavlina.

My bf died 4 months ago from a car accident. We were hit by an 18 wheeler. Since December I've been doing lots of research on AP to get back to him. I've just started to have some success within the last few weeks.

Erin Pavlina site was the first one I found when doing research.

Her site was so organized with lots of articles about her experiences. It really gave me a good place to start.

I read about the demons but that didn't phase me. I was way too desperate to get to my boyfriend to even care. I was just thinking that that demon will definitely have something coming for it if it tries to mess with me  :-D

I bought her book on Kindle. She suggested in the book to go on blog sites and read other people's experiences.

At first I thought her book was all I really needed. I mean how hard can AP be right?  :| I needed more information about techniques so I did some more research. Best thing I could have done.

Now I see that this demon stuff is very subjective. She should definitely offer a disclaimer that these are her experiences and someone else's experience might be different. That stuff would really scare people out of it, even though she offers a solution with the white light sword method.

Her website really gave me lots of information and I used it to do my own digging. I wouldn't book a reading with her or anything I thank her for that.

Thanks!

Yohan

That just goes to show you that as long as you retain an open mind, you can find good information anywhere you go!  :)

Good point, and even better example, Yohan!
