Author Topic: William Buhlman's way  (Read 3094 times)

Hello everyone,

I'm currently reading Adventures Beyond the Body: How to Experience Out-of-Body Travel by William Buhlman and have just read all of his Journal entries. One thing that startled me was that during his experiences he seemed to be able to take control of the experience by demanding stuff, like he would shout "clarity now!" And then he would have better vision. He also just seemed to be able to go to places and experience things buy simply demanding it, not in a horrible way but just clearly asking. So, what I want to know is, is this how it is when Astral traveling, I have every faith in the author but I would just like to know if this is the case in your experiences.

I look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,
Universal traveler.

I had an experience where I couldn't say clarity now, but just stammered. It was kind of scary.  tongue Otherwise, in my other astral travels, I haven't had the opportunity (or just plain forgot) to ask for anything.

THE ANSWER PARADOX
The answer to all paradoxes shows this: "Reality contains logic therefore logic cannot contain reality."
The paradox here is "how can one know this is true?".

If the answer to one paradox is another then the question is the answer.

The point in saying things that way is for the INTENT of the command to become clear. Intent is very important for a controlled projection, and that was the method that worked for him.

I've found intent to be very useful for meditation and dream recall as well. At first it's hard to describe what intent is or feels like (which is why Bulhman's method is a pretty good one), but once you start to utilize it, it becomes an extremely useful tool.

I just discussed on "Intent" on one of the latest radio show I did last night. W/O intent, you will just aimlessly wonder about and will not have the drive to push or forge ahead. I agree with the author and validate this! Lets just say, intent gives you the fire under your &(*( to get the job done!

I never really thought about it before... but I do remember telling myself to do things while out... especially in etheric projection, I find myself saying 'Go over there' like I am giving a command to a 3rd party... its wierd actually lol.

Hello everyone,

Your replies are much appreciated. Synergy, What do you mean by Etheric Projection? I think I know what it is, is it that your in a non-physical Body yet you are exploring the real time physical world? Also, is it better than Astral Projection? Is it easier or harder?

I look forward to your reply.

Yours faithfully,
Universal traveler.

Universal traveler,

Think of a etheric projection like a false awakening: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_awakening very close to the physical world. As you move farther away from the etheric, you transcend into the spiritual levels of a astral projection.

It is interpretation based on the projectionist and how they experience this. There is no right or wrong just different approaches to explanation based on personal experience of how one wants to call it. Simply stated, I just call it OBE.

Many times when I am working on a experiment (OBE) and that I feel my awareness, consciousness waning I'll shake my head left/right, laugh, move my body, look at and away from objects and even with a iron will auto-sugguest to push forward and remain in that state. What ever gets the job done to remain in that level -

When I say Etheric Projection, I am talking about projecting to the etheric realm which lies just above the physical. It is synonymous with Real-Time projection.  Since you are so close to the physical (and actually the etheric plane is PART of the physical plane - the Vital part hence why the etheric body is also called the vital body) since it is so close, you experience the real physical world in real time.  Astral Projection by comparison is more mystical like in quality, and often mistaken for a dream. Time can pass differently, and thought can affect the surroundings there.

I think "intent" is extremely important. I make goals for most of my projections (before I project). This means I set plans for what I will do in the OBE before I even try to attempt it. This is my push factor (and increases my experiences). I reach my goals and ask many questions. If you go in with intent -- you can get to the point in which you will exit your body and then consciously think "Ok, what do I want to do today?"

Commands such as "Clarity Now!" has only worked once during my experiences. Staying out of body longer has made things more vivid and memorable for me. I just recently bought a digital voice recorder so now I wolnt have to get out of bed to record my results on paper and then go back to sleep.

There have been "Accidents" in my OBE's...For example I would try to reach a goal and something would block me or I just would get caught up in something else i have seen. In those instances I either retrace prior goals or look back at my body or check to see if my silver cord is attached. I remember on a few occasions my goal was to go outside and try to fly. Instead of flying I would do sort of a long jump and land...i would then just sit down on the grass and look up at the sky with such clarity and just thank god for the experience in general or try to shout other words and see the effects. (usually when i shout it feels like im inside a television or it sounds somewhat electronic/ambient.) Smiley

I wandered slowly there
I saw a field where a thousand corpses lie
Angels sang the hymn of the end
About monsters which they fought
