I think I went out of body

Hey

Today, I took a small nap around 2PM, and started dreaming. I dreamt that I was in my childhood home, and that happens very often in dreams, so I realized I was dreaming, and suddenly the landscape changed, I was in my bedroom, here in my apartment.

All of a sudden, I started feeling vibrations. I clearly remember separating from my body several times in a row, it happened around 5 times...

The feeling of separation and the vibrations were the first time I had memory of the sense of touch in a dream, so I'm quite convinced that they were not just a dream.

In one of my 5 exits, I managed not to immediately snap back to my body, and I went towards the window and eventually got stuck there. It was weird, almost as if I was on both sides of the window at the same time.

After that, I lost my focus and went back to sleep.

My vision was rather foggy during the exits, but I clearly remember every detail of it...

In any case, this is pretty exciting -- even if I actually dreamt the "getting stuck in a window" episode, I am convinced the vibrations were real, and it was also my first lucid dream since I started making auto-suggestions about remembering my dreams and noticing discrepancies in them.

So, umm... Hooray?

I just had an amazing experience... A huge repetitive false awakening lucid dream...

Here's my dream log entry (Sorry in advance for the abundant use of the f-word)

QuoteWow wow wow

I had a lucid dream tonight.

It was the hugest dream I have ever had in my entire life, and it was crazy.

This post is separated in days but these all happened over the course of a 2 hour nap from 10PM to 12AM tonight.

DAY 1 of the dream

I hear my mom talking in the hallway, she woke me up. Just one thing: SHE LIVES IN NEW YORK, I DON'T! So I get up to check it out and she and my dad are on a surprise visit. So I hide all my cigarettes from them (I quit smoking a year ago but for some reason in my dreams I still smoke??). My mom smells the cigarettes and starts screaming at me. Damn it.

DAY 2

I wake up and to my surprise my mom isn't here... Whew. Just a dream! Not busted! I try to get up but my blanket is too heavy. I move my hands around and it just won't budge! Every time I lift it over myself there's more blanket! Then I look at my hand and it's fading in and out of sight, it's semi-transparent. So I realize I'm still in a dream...

DAY 3

I wake up and this time there's someone sitting on me. It's the spirit of a little boy. He's roughing me up and I fight him. I make him go away several times. Then he comes back and keeps moving me around but I can't move. I scream "bonk OFF ME DUDE LEAVE ME ALONE" and then he puts his mouth near my ear and says "Hey there's a little something I want to say to you *laugh* bonk YOU!!!" -- I'm still in a dream.

DAY 4

My mom wakes me up again with her voice. My mom and dad really are on a surprise visit. Damn. If I had known instead of falling asleep and having this weird repetitive dream, I would have hidden my cigarettes. Why are there cigarettes, damn it. She sees them and gets ticked off. She then tells me that they're here to fix up my apartment. For some reason there's another room in here I didn't know about and they want to move me to that room. So for about 30 minutes I help them. We cut stuff and put it on the walls, move the furniture, etc. At some point we realize that we cut off too much of the floor and now we're stuck in this room because it's dangerous to jump to the other side. So we run around and find this door with an alarm on it. It's a door that lets you get in to the neighbor's apartment. So my mom starts banging on it and I'm like "stop annoying the neighbor!" -- it was mildly amusing, still scary though.

DAY 5-8

God damn it stuck in my blanket again

DAY 9

I finally get up and run to see my sister to ask her if I'm still in a dream. At this point I'm quite shaken. To my surprise, she has a TOTALLY different haircut, like short hair and blonde! She's like "do you like my new haircut"? "JUST ANSWER ME, AM I IN A DREAM??????" I shake her and she won't answer... "Okay... I guess you don't need to answer that"

DAY 10

The kid is bonking with me again. "GET OFF ME DAMN IT"

DAY 11

I get out of my room and go see my sister again. This time she isn't here! So I open the door to the apartment and look around. Much to my surprise, there's construction everywhere in the hallway and my building now has 51 stories, overnight! They even raised our apartment to floor 11. Now what are the odds of that! I get into the new, huge elevator and someone else comes in. He says he's a detective and he asks me if I know about the recent crime across the street. So I tell him "sorry... I was asleep the whole time... I had a really weird dream!" "Oh, then you're pretty much useless to me!" He then proceeds to interview people on the street and I walk away. At this point I realize I'm probably still dreaming (about time!) and decide to see if I can make the best of it by flying. I jump and jump but it just won't work! I can jump really far and really high, but I just can't fly! A black guy sitting on a bench looks at me like "What the hell is this guy doing?"

DAY 12-15

== sexual dreams == ; I decide that the best way to find out if I'm dreaming is to go into some random girl's house and ask her if she'll have sex with me. Whether she says yes or no, I still win, ya know? Well, let's just say they never say no in dreams, and let's leave it at that.

DAY 16

This time, finally tired of all the amazingly hot secks (lol), I decide that the best way to see if I'm dreaming is to jump. If I can hit the ceiling with my head I'm definitely dreaming. Sure enough, my head never hits the ceiling. "Whew... Not in a dream" and then I look at my room and it's completely empty. There's nothing there. God damn it. Stupid dream won't end.

DAY 17

I decide that since I'm in full control it would be good to try and exit my body, to have an out of body experience. So I lay in bed calmly and wait for vibrations to come. My whole bed starts shaking and suddenly I'm standing in my room. I turn around to check if I left my body and I see myself sleeping in bed. So I walk towards my body and start touching it. That's when I notice it reacts to when I move it. So I push it around and bonk around with it (exactly in the same way as the kid did, by the way), until my physical body's joints are all bonked up and I just leave myself there on the corner of the bed... Then I decide to fly. Once again, it doesn't work. God damn it, stupid gravity. That's when I think "Hey, I should go meet grandpa!" I'm instantly teleported to a room where my grandpa is lying in bed and he starts talking to me in the usual way he did when he was still alive. Then it got weird... He started telling me about his casino (he never had a casino) and how I'm his heir. He says "so I need to teach you how to run the casino!" and we get teleported inside a casino where he proceeds to explain to me how all the machines work and how to watch for cheaters on the tables, etc. That's when I realize my grandfather turns into a detective dude from some 1930s movie... WEIRD.

DAY 18

I wake up and get stuck in the sheets again. This is where I get really freaked out... I swear the next thing I wanted to try was to kill myself.. It was unbearable!

And finally..... I woke up, and here I am... This has been both one of the scariest and most enjoyable experiences I've ever had, and I can't wait for it to happen again!

I was lucky in that my first OBE lasted about 5 minutes. It was definitely a feeling of being out of body and floating near the ceiling, through walls in the house and eventually outside where I took off to the Bahamas!

I have yet been able to duplicate that vivid of an experience.

kiwibonga,  Last night I dreamed within a span of 3 days. But 18??!! lol Now, THAT is a lot.

They were very shortened days though... Basically each time I got up from bed felt like I woke up from the dream, so they did feel like a new day starting, but they were pretty short.

Anyway, now I've talked to people about this... I'm wondering if I was out of body except just not in the RTZ...

Any tips on getting from a lucid dream to an OBE without dreaming you're having an OBE?

I just don't understand why you would want go OB when your already lucid in dream. In my view, it's like taking a step backwards.

I'm still waiting for the F-words.

Well, in my view, being lucid in a dream means you're "trapped" in a dream... But I'm not only looking to have fun... There's dead people I need to talk to and certain knowledge I need to acquire about the universe...

Anyway... I was told that a lucid dream (or any dream for that matter) WAS an OBE, just one on a different level of consciousness.

How true is it?

My "theory" is that I could not stay in the RTZ because I didn't know I was dreaming, so as soon as my subconscious created something (like for instance when I was able to get up and lift the bed covers, which is pretty much an automatic action when you wake up), I didn't focus and drifted further away, expecting things to happen instead of watching things happen.

I wonder if I really did meet my grandfather now, too... I need to go back and ask him if he saw me... heh
