Oops - Astral Wind! (Daft Draft)
Donni Hakanson 2001

Pardon me. I've had two concurrent LD's and I am due for an OBE soon.

One of the last frontiers of largely undiscovered, although paradoxically remarkably well mapped, territory, is the exploration of the zero-point field. HOW do you explore the zero-point field? Why, through the medium of the psyche and dreams. Think about it - we spend a lot of time dreaming. Or to put it scientifically, we spend a lot of time in the zero-point field while we are asleep. Fact.

OBE's are in, although the court is out on vegetarianism. The lucid dreaming, or LD phenomenon, is becoming a hot seller in books and mainstream media as techniques are developed and adapted which can trigger spiritual experiences. Imagine, your own guru generator... yourself.

Dream journeys. This subjectively perceived (albeit scientifically proven) 'destination' is becoming popular in conjunction with the use of technology that objectively 'tunes' the brain waves to a certain frequency. Picking your state of mind can be as easy as changing channels on your television set. Your mental health can be bought over the counter, or accessed free from the world wide web. Enter... the mind mechanic.

Defy the laws of nature - in a scientifically proven environment that operates under a whole new spectrum of laws and possibilities - and explore a multitude of dimensions - literally. Or rather, lucidly.

Like explorers of old into a New World, the journey calls many, yet still provides challenges, albeit new and different ones. Generating enough energy for your astral body to separate from the physical body produces an unusual form of transport. Once this is achieved, the Universe awaits... This part of the Universe is a place where no journals or recording devices will work (a zero-point field effect). Like dying, all you can bring back with you, are your memories.

Really, you carry your own time-traveling machine with in you, already. Gaining lucidity in dreams, you can go wherever you want. This however, requires a state of mind that is not always easy to achieve or access in limited time. This is where aids can be useful. Certain beats, pulses and sounds can trigger certain chemical responses within the brain, and especially the right temporal lobe, that induces, or facilitates, a deeper degree of relaxation and openness to suggestion/less judgmental.

Imagine traveling through a fractal, or a black hole... travel the oceans and meet with loved ones. Take the point of view of a Christmas beetle, or a mountain... shape your awareness to try many things, utilizing this fascinating aspect of your life. To it's fullest. Conscious control and awareness within dreams is a skill which can be learned by those who wish to. The wisdom of the shamans and medicine men and spiritual people is usually that of being able to travel to and through other dimensions, and to heal. These states of mind are replicable through different brainwave frequencies. Pre-planning (like you would any trip), the map you follow is a guided meditation - your energy body takes you there...

The basics of lucid dreaming and out-of-body lore advocates a progression that begins with learning how to recall your dreams, and how to separate as an energy body, how to choose your destination, or who to travel with. Once you have the 'knack', you are as limited as your imagination! By keeping the mind conscious while the body goes to sleep, a great reservoir of archetypal energy and experiences awaits you.

Some dream, some yearn, to experience the astral wind sweeping them up, like Dorothy of Kansas, into another world - their future, or another reality. Reports of astral wind phenomena indicate it is a part of the fabric of this other, astral, world; a part that (seemingly) randomly sweeps people up through prophecy and emotional impact. Not everyone experiences the astral wind, and some are 'hit' by it countless times.

According to available information on the subject, one can stimulate the brain to the vibratory frequency of inspiration, visions and 'enlightenment' through the medium of certain tones that vibrate at a specific frequency and pattern, triggering this phenomenon by stimulating the right temporal lobe. They have even been claimed to cause out of body experiences.

Binaural beats, pink noise and oscillations aside, the potential these 'brain entrapment' devices, many available free on-line, have towards shaping the mass mind of society are potentially phenomenal. Many claim to change mental programming, 'deleting' negativity and replacing it with positive, modified behaviour, or way of thinking. Combine it with hypnosis, guided imagery and you have a potent 'experience'. (Many people do - this is why working with the energy body is so effective.)

But is there a cloud to this silver lining of our sleeping, 'other', lives? Or does the astral wind sweep that away too? Advocates of the "natural way" follow systems of purification and health, dietary modifications, meditation and months of energy work and exercises to free the body and mind from the shackles of waking reality. Today, technology sets the program in a matter of minutes, with the flick of a switch, whether you eat meat, or not.

Enlightenment over the counter? Mystical experiences at will? To quote Melvin Morse, M.D.: "Paranormal becomes normal once we postulate a biological link with non-local reality." We now know mystical experiences and visions have a biological counter-part, in the right temporal lobe of the brain. This covers remote viewing (RV) which has a 'proven track record', déjà vu, precognitive dreams and maybe even alien abduction experiences.

From "Life Understood, From a Scientific and Religious Point of View, and the Practical Method of Destroying Sin, Disease and Death." by F.L.Rawson, dated 1925, we are told:

"In making public the elaborate detail of the human consciousness and it's undreamed of possibilities, a serious question confronts us at the outset. Whilst scarcely one-millionth part of possible good is known, it is equally true that only a small fraction of the possible practice of evil has ever been dreamed of, and much less attempted.

It is impossible to state the truth adequately without exposing the possibilities of evil. We lie between Scylla and Charybdis. Are we to suppress the knowledge of good on account of the fear of evil?"

Will our society flounder when it spends its collective time tuning into navel forces? Will the way for perversion and obsession be made easier for those who choose to fulfill every fantasy on another dimension? Move over tantra, we have etheric bonding and bonking! Will this natural alternative to drug use become so prevalent, every effort will need to have it eradicated as we learn that with mental freedom, comes enslavement?

Or will it become the mark of progression, with insight and spiritual guidance a natural part of going to bed, shaping society? Imagine if we, collectively, took more control in our dreams, and gave them more attention, they would subtly, yet powerfully, improve the collective 'viewpoints' to reflect planetary concerns. Pillow talk would become a talking pillow in the plunge into Wonderland. As Lamarck said, from Life Understood: "Whatever the difficulties in discerning new truths, there are still greater ones in getting them recognized.".

You might open Pandora's box.  So choose your dimension. Wisely.
