Um, hold fast there... I would really just read books on the subject if I were you, unless you have lots of money to possibly waste on frauds. However, if you want to find someone I would suggest looking in the yellow pages for "New Age" or "Metaphysical" book stores. Usually someone will know someone that knows someone that might be able to teach you.

And no, there is no general title for people that teach people how to psychically defend themselves, other than a Psychic. However, you can only learn so much from someone else. Buy some books and read, it's not as hard as it seems.

likely the best way to find someone fast is through word of mouth. so as steel said, go find some metaphysical shops and ask there. not all of those shops are run by people who actually believe in metaphysics, but even mundane shopkeeps should be able to point you to other metaphysics store in your area.

however, there is another medium for help: chat rooms. might sound silly at first, but i've witnessed (and even helped with one) healings over chat rooms before, so you could finding some chat rooms where psychics hang out and try asking there. and even if they won't help you, don't forget to ask if they can refer you to somewhere else where you can ask.

How would I find someone who specializes in matters of psychic self-defense within my own area? I live in New York City. What would I be looking for in the Yellow Pages specifically, for example? Are there titles for people who help others psychically defend themselves? What are they?
