Hmmmm, I dont' really know what to say to this one, I personally don't have the type of mentality to carry out something like your "test" there. I would never think to do that to anything or anyone, especially my guardian angel (if there is such a thing) I don't eat meat due to the cruel factory farming techniques put forth on animals, so if you ask me, this doesn't seem like a very smarth thing to do. Besides, I'm sure us trying to kill and angel would be like a bug trying to kill the windshield on your car.

Well Aliester crowley believed he had a gaurdian demon.
I guess it wouldnt hurt to have a gaurdian demon and a angel.
after all thats the way they portrait it on tv.
personally I dont think an angel can break out of their archtype of being good.  But if say a demon were to take the form of an angel
they might look good but you could still sense their demonicness.
on the otherhand maybe angel dont know that they are really evil
and helping god suck the life force from humanity right?
while it could be considered that way I dont think thats really the case

Hmm...

You see the thing is, angels are varied in tasks just like humans.  Some protect, others kills, heal, etc.  Your idea of 'killing your Guardian' is something to consider I suppose.  There are some very obvious downsides to doing such a thing, and is possibly counter-productive.  As for your God comments, the nature of God cannot be known to humans SO STOP QUESTIONING IT!  Heh, easier said than done eh.  But that brings in the arguments on theology, religion, tra la la...so let's not go there.

Also, I highly doubt anyone on this board truly knows how to unthread an entity, you can cut the BIND that links the two of you, which is what you're probably *really* getting at...but angels do not die easy...and they're messy to clean up after.  ^_^

Later,
Jason

My Guardian's not an angel, anyhow.
I tend not to have things around me unless I know them well....him, I do know well.  I'm fond of him, so he can have a tidbit in return for the favor.

G'day!

I have seen and interacted with angels a number of times, in the physical world and on various higher levels, including materializations that have been fully visible to the naked eye here on earth. I will take a lie detector test on this anytime, should someone wish to put this to the test.

I wish I could show you all what I have seen. But I do the best with the poor tools I have of words.

I have absolutely no doubt that angels exist, and have no doubts about the divine source of their intention and purpose and the heart of their action.

Everything in this universe is a creation of God, including angels, which could be said to be intimately and even immensely connected with God and with God's purpose down here in the physical universe.

Angels are, in essence, divine messengers of God.  They represent the presence and purpose of God from and at a very high level of consciousness indeed.

To stand in the presence of an angel is a truly awesome experience. They are beautiful, strong, commanding, understanding, compassionate, wise and brave.  They wear simple white, full length robes.  Sometimes you can see their hands.  Their hands look perfectly formed and normal. I have never seen their feet, and they seem to glide rather than walk.  Their hair is usually fine and white-gold and curly; at least it has been on the ones I have seen here in the physical.  At times, in higher levels, I have seen them wearing wings and blowing golden trumpets, carrying books and other things. But these things may be entirely subjective, or affected by belief.  Some angels are taller and larger and seem more powerful than others. These may be more elevated angels, or even archangels.

To look into the eyes of an angel and exhange even a brief tearful or timid smile of hope, for the loving intensity of the burning compassionate wisdom of their profoundly soul-searching gaze, is a life changing experience in every sense of The Word. Tears pour down my face even now, as I remember the first time, all those years ago when I was just a lad about 12.  If I did not have such memories, I would most surely have perished or become lost in the darkness many years ago.  Such memories fill me with great strength and spiritual joy and fire, to which I cling to when enduring dark nights of the soul, and other such painful experiences and tests that life often inflicts. God is wise.

A Holy Guardian Angel could be likened to one's higher self. They are either one and the same or are intimately connected. To turn away from this divine wonder, in preference for more tangible and material things and concepts, at least in the abstract, is to infinitely reduce oneself in the scale of all things considered conscious, and/or of carrying divine sparks of consciousness.

To even abstractly or playfully conceptualise killing an angel, even in play )especially your own Holy Guardian Angel) I find both immensely sad and ludicrous.

You are a braver person than I am, my friend. If that concept even briefly entered my mind of its own volition, I think I would spend the rest of my life on my knees praying for forgiveness.

But go in peace and believe what you will of God and His angels and the workings of the universe. Its a big old universe, and God is merciful.

"Lift a rock, split a piece of wood, and you will find me there."
(movie = Stigmata)

Take care, Robert.

Thanks you for your kind words, and inspirational wisdom on the subject, everyone, and also Robert.  I would like to clarify my original intent and purpose in destroying these forces surrounding me.  Then, I'll let you know what's happened to me since.

The beings which I see when I leave my body, and travel around my home resembled angelic entities, but upon further scrutiny they appear as bats clinging to the walls.  This led me to the assumption that the Divine Energies of Light are not in fact Angels at all, but energy draining machines, or energy draining entities which surround us [Humans] on a daily basis, to feed off from our negative energy [We could argue that my life feeds their energy more than others, but I am for the most part a calm, happy, although currently lost, individual].  If my hypothesis is incorrect, and with someone that has the experince of Robert I wouldn't doubt that I am, then perhaps my classifying these forces as "angels" was wrong, despite their [imposter-like] outwardly Angelic appearance.

The Higher Self, which I have been in contact with, and still am, told me [no, I'm not crazy] that the beings around me needed to be destroyed, and that they were stealing energy from myself and those I love.  I found many dark bat-like creatures surrounding my home, and on walls, and in chairs.  I exterminated them, so to speak.  After removing the beings I wasn't aware of any other entities around me.  I've never had luck contacting my Spirit Guide, but receive messages from my own Higher Self regularly.  I surmised that these bat-like Angelic imposters were responsible for causing sleepiness, and other maladies.  I should also add that they weren't difficult to destroy, adding further evidence that the creatures may not have in fact been Angels [As most here said, and two other people, Angels are messy to clean up after].  No residual energy splotches or other evidence that would suggest that something was there.

I know I placed this message in the right forum, but perhaps I erroneously labelled the entities as Angels because in fact none have ever crossed my path, and those that have appeared to cross my path have been cheap imitations.

On to the funny part.  You may be pleased to learn that since severing with these forces which were allegedly protecting me, I've missed two important appointments, lost my car keys, got into a minor fender bender, and received two tickets (one for license plates, and one for speeding).  It's time to rid the world of these dark energies and re-connect on a personal level to my Higher Self.  MJ-12 commented that his/her guardian angel is actually a Higher Self version of her/hiself, but I must disagree.  I envision Angels to be highly advanced creatures, but only part of us in that we're all tied to a Much Greater Whole.  Isn't my Higher Self the purest version of me, and not in fact a guide, or an angel?

As for us Humans, we're supposed to be high on the evolutionary scale, but it's only because the animals haven't discovered how to make guns...yet.  I don't eat meat either, not onyl for the inhumane conditions, but because alternatives are healthier.  I firmly believe that we as a species have the capacity for greatness, and infinite spiritual enlightenment, but I also have no idea how to get there.

Interesting.

Let me for the record adamantly repeat I am an expert on nothing, and don't claim to have all the answers, but lots of questions. I also would like to thank everyone for their posts in this difficult decision, for me.

MJ-12 et. al.: I can envision a Union with The One (God), and I would assume that to be the pinnacle acheivement of our Spiritual Evolution.  Re-entering The Source, or That Power, would signify the fulfillment of a long journey of spiritual enlightenment.  I don't deny that.  But I think my query statement ("Isn't my Higher Self the purest version of me, and not in fact a guide, or an angel") was more a question of trying to ascertain the true identity of a 'Spirit Guide.'  Alien Entity?  Messenger of God?  In this incarnation, I think the highest version or evolution I can acheive would be a unification with my Higher-Self.  I was trying to point out a dileniation between 'Higher Self' and 'Spirit Guide.'  In my experience they are not the same.  One I can see, feel, sense, hear, the other I can not.  Has anyone else found this to be the case?

But Robert Bruce said, "A Holy Guardian Angel could be likened to one's higher self.  They are either one and the same or are intimately connected."  I believe we are getting to the root of my confusion.  Is the adjective 'Holy' a modifier setting your personal guardian above another angelic guardians?  Speaking from personal experience, I have never seen an entity that resembles the power and majesty of a Guardian Angel (but the dark entities I referred to mirrored their appearance), never experienced that overwhelming sense of love and compassion you referred to Robert.  So I guess nothing Angelic was in my presence.

If the union between Higher-Self and little old me isn't the end-all be-all-you-can-be crowning acheivement in this lifetime, then what is?  Understandably this could fall into the vexing "Who are we, why are we here" category, but I'm curious as to whether people here believe there is another evolutionary step we can accomplish.

You might find the following lecture of interest. Its about the "Abramelin the mage" book on how to contact your Holy Guardian Angel (HGA). Here is just a small snippet from about half way through;

"KITTY JUST ATE THE NEIGHBOR'S DOG

It's possible to make a mistake and pick the wrong spirit, instead of the Holy Guardian Angel. The H.G.A. is something that you can release yourself to completely and still end up being the same individual you were in the beginning. People tend to get a little weird doing a magical retirement, so it's a good idea to keep a diary. With a diary, you can read old entries and figure out how you got to where you are now. If necessary, you can go back again. My favorite test is to take a break once in a while and go into a Safeway or something like that. If you can stand it, you're still sane. That's the definition of sanity in this culture, able to take care of the minimum. Being able to endure a supermarket long enough to harmlessly obtain food is pretty minimal. There is a thing called a lemure or Larva. You can attract a hungry spirit, usually a wandering Nephesh, something that is dependent on somebody else to stay around. You're "it"; you've volunteered as life-support. Such a spirit is willing to pretend to be anything in order to keep on sucking. That's not the H.G.A. That's just a trap that people fall into, because they have been told that's all there is. The majority of those cases are what the Romans would call lemures or larvae, the Tibetans hungry ghosts, and the Hassids Dibukim. Such spirits need attention to live. It is just like a failed relationship with a mate. If that other person is dependent on you for shelter and food or for some important but less tangible thing, they'll do anything up to the limits of their nature to keep you the way you are. If you want them to be something, they will turn into it. If you are angry, you will tend to evoke greater anger from them, resulting in passive reaction on your part. The partner in such a dysfunctional relationship may realize: "if this guy gets out of hand, all I have to do is yell at him. All I have to do is hit 'em once and 'es just as quiet as anything." People will usually do the things that get them what they want. Not every one, sometimes people are remarkably stuck in one track. These are lesser spirits, whatever you want to call them, hungry ghosts, vampires... that's what the word "vampire" really meant. It was a member of the family who hung around after he died, as long as you gave him useful things to do that weren't too difficult. Vampires aren't always considered to be monsters who make life terrible for you; they can be good to have around. They chase off peddlers, robbers, whatnot. When a stranger comes to the house, the vampire will feel very protective of the family. A "vampire" will pick up on it if a person doesn't like them: "O'h, 'don't like' means I get attention!" Then they will proceed to do more irritating things to that person. Keeping peace with the spirits of the ancestors is very important in cultures around the world. The Romans called the friendly ancestral spirits Lares and the pesky ones Larvae. You want Great Grand Mother's ghost to bark at strangers, not at reasonably behaved family members. This kind of thing isn't the Holy Guardian Angel. This kind of thing is what happens when something eats off of you. A certain amount of this is harmless, but you want to make sure that you are in charge. In some states of mind people leak like a sieve. A lot of life is being generated, not being used by the person generating it, and it's there for the taking. Something comes and says: "This is lunch. How do we make this a 24 hour diner? Very simple. Every time this person thinks; 'O'h God if I haven't ...!', he turns loose all this energy. So, let's see: 'Hay! God I haven't!' or 'Why did I do that!' -- that's a new one. That tastes better. 'Your such a bummer' -- works too. Hot damn! 'You hate hating yourself, don't you!' More food!". If you ever get really depressed, between sobs, wrenches and tremors, pick up on what you are saying to yourself. Maybe it isn't you talking. Maybe it's some astral clown saying: "Watch him go!" This kind of thing is often marked by painful ideas that relay back inwardly to create more painful ideas. In order to get rid of a depression feedback loop, you've got to realize that this isn't you. The destructive voice is not really rational. Jokes and humorous self-observations, the more tasteless and jolting the better, will break this sort of cycle. If you get that kind of thing going, realize it isn't the Holy Guardian Angel. That is a wrong turn. Go back and try again. That is a demon, and that is one of the things that the Holy Guardian Angel is supposed to help you with. It's probably a very stupid demon, who is only good at picking up on things to say. "

G'day Robert,

Are you being serious about the above? What makes you believe (belief system) that you would need to spend the rest of your life on your knees, asking your Self for forgivness?
It just stuck out as a rather odd comment.

Just curious Smiley

I don't think RObert has any reason to justify his comments...not that I took offense to the last post.  I think something that needs to be addressed is that fact that negative entities can indeed appear, at least briefly, as angles of light...but their attempt to decieve would be futile to someone such as Robert whom I believe has indeed witnessed the presence of a real angel.
Lorax himself noted that what at first appeared to be angels turned out to be negative entities.

THE MATRIX IS REAL

We have a predator that came from the depths of the cosmos and took over the rule of our lives…because we are their sustenance. Just as we rear chickens in chicken coops, the predators rear us in human coops. Think for a moment, and tell me how you would explain the contradiction between the intelligence of man the engineer and the stupidity of his systems of beliefs, or the stupidity of his contradictory behavior. Sorcerers believe that the predators have given us our systems of beliefs, our ideas of good and evil, our social mores. They are the ones who set up our hopes and expectations and dreams of success or failure. They have given us covetousness, greed, and cowardice. It is the predators who make us complacent, routinary, and egomaniacal…the predators engaged themselves in a stupendous maneuver, from the point of view of a fighting strategist… They gave us their mind!…Through the mind, which is after all their mind, the predators inject into the lives of human beings whatever is convenient for them.

~The Active Side of Infinity, Carlos Castaneda.

________

In his second book, Robert Monroe describes a lucid dream in which he was informed that we serve as a source of energetic nourishment for a specific type of sentient being. These beings were described as "gardeners" or "collectors". He was told that these beings feed off a certain type of energetic radiation given off by humans when engaged conflict and that they harvest this type of energy as their "crop". At some point in Man's history, these "collectors" entered the "garden" and created tools in order to maximize production of the "crop". Monroe was told that these tools include but are not limited to "love, friendship, family, greed, hate, pain, guilt, disease, pride, ambition, ownership, possession, sacrifice, nations, provincialism, wars, famine, religion, machines, freedom, industry and trade".

________

First of all it must be realized that the sleep in which Man exists is not normal but hypnotic sleep…. One would think that there are forces for whom it is useful and profitable to keep man in a hypnotic state and prevent him from seeing the truth and understanding his position. There is an Eastern tale, which speaks about a very rich magician who had a great many sheep… He did not want to hire shepherds, nor did he want to erect a fence about the pasture where his sheep were grazing. The sheep consequently often…ran away, for they knew that the magician wanted their flesh and skins and this they did not like. At last the magician found a remedy. He hypnotized his sheep and suggested to them that they were immortal and that no harm was being done to them when they were skinned, that, on the contrary, it would be very good for them and even pleasant; secondly he suggested that the magician was a good master who loved his flock so much that he was ready to do anything in the world for them; and in the third place he suggested to them that if anything at all were going to happen to them it was not going to happen just then, at any rate not that day, and therefore they had no need to think about it. Further the magician suggested to his sheep that they were not sheep at all; to some of them he suggested that they were lions, to others that they were eagles, to others that they were men, and to others that they were magicians. And after this all his cares and worries about the sheep came to an end. They never ran away again but quietly awaited the time when the magician would require their flesh and skins. This tale is a very good illustration of man's position.

~In Search of the Miraculous, P.D. Ouspensky

________

One can say that a human being is nothing else but a conglomerate of thousands of…twirling vortexes of energy….There are, however, six which are so enormous that they deserve special treatment. They are centers of life and vital-ity….The sixth center, located on the top of the head…has been taken over by an invader, an unseen predator. And the only way to overcome this predator is by fortifying all the other centers.

~Magical Passes, Carlos Castaneda.

________

Awareness is the only avenue that human beings have for evolution, and something extraneous to us, something that has to do with the predatorial nature of the universe, has interrupted our possibility of evolving by taking possession of our awareness.

G'day Folks....

I'm very short on time, but wanted to pop in and see what is happening.  Please bear with my brief comments.

Yes, demons will sometimes take on the guise of being angels.

Real angels come with a powerful presence.  Its not difficult to tell them apart from fakers.

Try invoking angels with ritual magick and you'll see what I mean by the above, using the LBRP, or the ritual of the 4, or etc. But note that these rituals are intended to invoke the forces of angels and not the actual angelic beings per se.

A Holy Guardian Angel is a very high level of being. It would be highly unusual for any human, no matter how spiritually evolved, to have any direct contact with such an exalted being.

HGA's always help, but their help is often enigmatic and seldom seem for what it is.

What people call 'spirit guides' are often manifestations of their higher selves.

Good spirits will often take on the guise of being one's 'spirit guide' because this is acceptible to most people.

Bad spirits will also often pretend to be one's spirit guides.

The definition of higher self is very clouded.  It can be thought of as the highest aspect of a person.  Or, it can be thought of as a manifestation of God, a being who's purpose is to provide a connecting link with God.  Or, it can be thought of as one's Overself, which may or may not be the connecting link for a great number of different incarnated aspects.  It can also be thought of as one's Holy Guardian Angel.

All the above should really be considered abstract and subjectve, as this is totally unprovable by us down here in the physical dimension.  But it can be pondered, experienced and even realized, and the works of others perused.  All of this applies to the big question: the meaning of life and how it all works.  We must all understand that no matter how we conceive all of this to be, we are all looking in the same direction.  It is thus a little pointless debating the use of each other's terminologies.

My comment on how I might react to disrespecting true angels was possibly a bit on the poetic side.  I was trying to express my heartfelt feelings, in that to me God and His angels are as real as the keyboard I am typing on.  Angels are truly awesome beings.  In this I am fortunate to know through hard life experience and direct manifestations, whereas most people must rely more on belief.  I can thus be a little on the passionate side when discussing these matters.

Take care, Robert.

Is it possible to, the mighty four angels Michael, Gabriel, Azrael and one other one which i cant remember, to reincarnate into a human form?

I wonder if that movie which starring brad pitt about the angel, Angel of Death (Azrael), has any truth to it?!

I'd ask all of those who've replied to this topic: Are you sure that what you've seen is an objective being?
Given that most agree the astral is infinitely malleable and accommodating of our expectations, is it not possible the the HGA's, Demons etc aren't just neutral entities trying to accommodate our need of learning at the time of meeting?

Are angel angels only because we wish them to be? Are demons evil because we expect them to be? Are they two different classes of entitities because we expect them to be?

Here's an alternate explanation...
Lorax, you had a religious upbringing.  So your idea of an angel is more the typical Christian version, a messenger, rather than an intrinsicly wise and godlike being.
I now have the guts to bring this up thanks to the pendulum post, that went on to describe the gods of the Bible as aliens.  Your comment about their robes and Eden reminded me of a book, Gods of Eden, that theorizes that what really happened was when they gained intelligence, they saw that they were naked, and everyone else was robed.  Therefore, they're trapped in a zoo, under their rules and tried to escape.  If that god had the 'presence' that Robert talks about, they'd never need to be fearful.
McArthur's post interested me as well.  The quotes imply something's been feeding off humans since our creation.  I found similar thoughts channelled on Spiritweb.org before.
First, yes I used to watch Sightings too much [Smiley]  But from what I pieced together on all the ufo abduction reports (which begin like forced OBE's), it could easily be concluded that a dying race of Greys are pawning off our energy, having become so emotionless they can no longer reproduce.  Cow mutilations and most abductions relate to the species' reproductive system.  If we were to connect this with the idea they are the Gods of the Bible, would it be such a stretch to think the whole religion was originally designed to harvest energy?  God demands we both love and fear him, and pray and think of him everyday.  We must worship and give sacrifice.  We are not meant to be happy (John 12:25 "He who loves his life will lose it..." -Jesus).  Let this holy ghost share your body for life.
The question is, is it possible the bat/angels were 'angels' by Christian definition afterall?  That losing your connection to 'god' really did make you feel better?
However, the mental action required to do so, without replacing the image of god with a better one, would sever your connection to the real god a bit as well, resulting in lost keys and such [Smiley].
I would suggest reading Robert's post again, and getting a feel for what real angels are.  A guide should also have some degree of compassion and warmth.  Don't settle for less.
Of course, this is just a theory of mine.  Sunday school has reformed the scary image of god into one so loving that many would connect with the highest of gods instead, wether it be the biblical god or not, so I'm not blaming the religion.  It's just something that's been on my mind for years now.

This is difficult to bring up, and a conversation thread which should get more horrified responses and villafied emails directed towards me than any other I've posted. But after careful thought, and much deliberation, it might not be a bad idea to Kill your Guardian Angel.

I was mortified when I first heard about it. This is me hearing about it..  "What are you INSANE?!  They're not only good, but God's link to us, right? Killing an Angel wouldn't that be like worse than killing man, damning me to a life of eternal damnation in the firey pits of Hell?"  But that's just my up bringing and Judeao-Christian ethic kicking in (even though I'm not religuous). I don't believe in a Hell, and I didn't even really believe in Angels a few years ago.

Consider the winged serpents from days of long ago which seem to permeate ancient mythology, and the fear they imposed to those who saw them. When you think of Angel's do they not have wings? Are they not there to intercede when mankind is downtrodden and on bad luck? What if these angelic creatures thrive on this negative energy force that surrounds us? What if they keep Our true God-Force from manifesting itself? What if they are not truly assistants of the Great Almighty, but a lecherous parasite which use our misfortune for their own diabolical gain?

Anyone here ever seen an Angel? I've got friends who love them. You can pretty much buy replicas of them in any store now at the check-out. They're almost as ubiquituous as giant bug-eyed alien heads you can buy anywhere. When I think of an Angel, I can't shake their image out of my head. Try it now. Close your eyes, and imagine an Angel. No, really try it, I'll wait. What does it look like? Long flowing white robe, dark eyes, boney outstetched arms? How about legs, oh I forgot they're underneath that white cloak. Next time you talk to an Angel, or see one, ask them why they wear cloaks if they weren't cast out of the Garden of Eden. Tell me what they reveal in form or in answer.

Let's suppose for example that you attempt to destroy your guardian angel. If they truly are your guardian, and an extension of God, you as a mere mortal can't possibly harm them, right? Then what is there to lose? Make a test that will last thirty days. If you don't have the stomach for it, then politely demand they leave you alone. You must demand it, or kill them. To do this, imagine the Angel, then imagine whatever weapon you wish to use to carry out the act (an Excalibur replica sword, tomahawk, nuclear weapons, Tesla Death Ray, it doesn't matter), and then kill it. Wait 30 days. If, after 30 days you don't have more coherent thoughts, more energy, and more lucidness in your dreams, all you need to do it ask for them to come back, and they will. But at least you will have figured it out for yourself. Here's a conundrum: why would God need angelic helpers if s/he is omnipotent?  It's a mystery.

Food for thought, and I'd like some feedback on it from the wonderful people's here.  And no, I'm not a Satan worshipper.  I speak for the trees.
