I have a question about posting. Why is the text jumping up and down when it is larger than the window where you type it? You can't see what you're doing when it keeps jumping back to a higher spot. :? Or is there a trick to prevent that happening?
:-)
I'm not quite sure what you mean... lol
Maybe it's because I use a widescreen monitor? Dunno lol
~Ryan
I don't have widescreen, but I also don't know what you mean.
I also have widescreen. But now I hear that I'm the only one who has that, it's probably something that I have to solve myself.
Thanks anyway. :-)
I'm using Mozilla. Maybe it has something to do with the windows?
Doesn't do it in my firefox.
Doesn't do it in my safari either.
Timandra, try clearing out your browsers cache and temp files.
They could be screwing it up.

I will try that the next time I post something.
Thanks :-)
I am using internet explorer on a widescreen HP laptop, and I get something similar. I need to type without being able to see what I am typing, lol, and if there turn out to be errors, I need to fix them one character at a time, and then scroll back down
This seems to be a pretty recent problem for me....
Aha, so there are more. Yes it is exactly the same problem. But I have had it since the beginning.
Now just must find the solution...
My computer has gone bananas in the meantime so that is my first priority now, to have that fixed. :|
Can you describe this problem more in depth
lol... more or less what I said earlier...
From these two reports from each of us, it is probably a widescreen issue... possibly even an issue restricted to that certain resolution both of us may share.
What happens is that when I am typing a post, and the text fills an area greater than the area of the viewing box provided, meaning it would need to scroll down, it does not do so. The text just gets gets typed into unseen textspace. It will flit down for a hundreth of a second when a new character is typed, but it will imediately go back up. I can manually scroll down, but as soon as a new character is typed, it will go back to the top and repeat the same behavior.
What it amounts to is that I can't see what I am typing, lol, and I have no way of fixing that. If this post were just one line longer, it would happen in this instance too, lol.
same here i have that problem.
i am using a widescreened monitor on an acer laptop. i am using ie 8 resolution = 1366 x 768.
i will try and write a long post with google chrome and see if i get the same problem in the mean while timadra and still water could you click the left hand mouse button anywhere on your desktop background screen and click properties and for the newer operting systems just click screen resolution if you had to click properties navigate to screen resolution which should be a tab on the box that has now popped on your screen. once you done that write down the numbers which is your screen resolution and post it here to see if it is a common thing between us and if not we can elimante that from the cause of the problem, please and if you have any other browsers installed on your computer could you also try them to see if the problem occurs on them
thanks
Well i just typed a long post but never posted it just to test if it was the browser.
before i was using internet explorer 8 and now i am using google chrome and i have nt got the same problem with google chrome.
by any chance timandra and stillwater are you using internet explorer? if so click help then click about internet explorer to get the version you are using? if you are all using internet explorer 8 as i was then that is the problem
Haha, some version of internet exploder, and 1366x768
thanks stillwater. well i solved this problem by using a diffrent browser. do you have access to a diffrent browser? or can you download a diffrent browser? if not i will try and solve this a dffrent way for you
using internet explorer should be a sin ._.
lol i have firefox on my home computer its great but it has lots of problems with its java so i started using chrome and its pretty good i m starting to prefer it over firefox haha
ok if you do what you done before to find your resolution and then change it to 1360 x 768 the problem should happen if your using ie 8 because the problems the resolution. my screen is 15'6 inch hd/lcd and now the problems solved on my computer.
let me know if it works on your computer?
i will be on astral chat for a lil while if anyone needs help with fixing this problem
Lol... changing the resolution did in fact fix the issue.
I didn't consider it was merely the resolution causing the issue until I noticed that I had that in common with Timandra.
Funny how it happens only under that convergence of circumstances........
I do have Internet Explorer 8 and my screenresolution is 1680x1050. Now do I make the resolution lower? What did you set it on, Stillwater and Fourthdimension?
Internet Exploder lol
To be honest i just downloaded google chrome its much faster but if you lower your resolution by 6 pixels it should work fine. last night as a test i lowered my resolution from 1366 x 786 to 1360 x 786 and it works fine. so try lowering it the most you can with out over expanding or leaving gaps in the display if that does nt work you should just download google chrome which is much better and the problem does nt occur there. i will post the link to download it in a min
Ok well below click the text saying "Download Here" to download google chrome. If people decide to download it and have problems configuring the browser as a default and uninstalling the old browser then let me know and i ll let you know what to do
QuoteWhat did you set it on, Stillwater and Fourthdimension?
Internet Exploder lol
As suggested, 1360x768 was good for me
Thats good am glad it worked haha
Yes! it worked! But the letters are much smaller now...
Well thank you Fourthdimension, for solving this, I am not good with the technical problems of computers so it's good to have some people around who are. 8-)
No problem if the letters are too small i such seeing if you can make your resolution higher without making the screen jump if not then it is just best to use google chrome and set your resolution back to normal
Old thread but the problem hasnt been fixed yet and has been annoying me for ages.
I just found out how to get around it without messing with my resolution.
In IE8 theres a button to the right of the address bar that looks like a torn piece of paper. It puts the browser into compatability mode. Fixes the problem.
That's it! Thanks blis :-)
Just found this thread. I had the same problem. What an aggravation!!
Thanks to everybody for the fix(es)!
