Major Website Changes: have -YOUR- say!!!

Hi all,

Nice colour, i do like blue even if it does remind me of Chelsea. The banner could be half the size though.

Are there any downloadable mp3 training files available anywhere that could be incorporated or am i not looking hard enough. I think that it would be a nice idea if 'we' (the royal 'we' that is) could follow a structured training course and  share our experiences as we progress.

Just a thought.

I find this site probably the easiest for me to navigate.
Its quick for me to get into, the most comprehensive, well catalogued
& diverse.
The colours are fine by me , but I have no expertise in this area,
web site design , so this all comes from the average joe bloggs.
All thumbs up for me ,packed with info.

On the chat site, whats happening there? I cant seem to load it anymore.I click " chat room " & I used to have a little LOAD CHAT
CLIENT box, now the screen just stays blank, any ideas?

I love the new graphics and colours and everything but like other people, I find frames a really bad idea, even though I realise they make things nice and simple for web developers.

Unfortunately frames make it really hard for newbies to send page links to friends and they are trouble for 800x600 users (with the top frame).  And it would be so annoying if the top frame were always limiting the amount of text visible in a screen window...

I agree that the left navigation area is wider than it needs to be.  If Articles, Poetry, Fourms, Books, Magick, Links and Help were put on separate lines, it could very well be made narrower.  

Also I think that having the curve between the left navigation area and the main content frame is a bit of a waste of time and space and most web designers view that sort of thing as being pretty passé now.  (Note the vertical column of blank unusuable space under it!)  You don't really want to have a buffer that wide between the left nagivation area and the content frame.

I do like a left-hand navigation area and a nice title graphic so excellent to see these added.

Definitely open the forums into a new window, but if frames were dumped, the articles should be fine with a top graphic and the navigation area on the left.

Okay, here goes, don't complain because you DID ask........

The top logo is unnecessary and when navigating to the forum section we are served yet another top logo. To the extent where virtually the top half of the screen is taken up by cheesy logos.

The Astral Pulse text bit of the logo is alright. It just needs making smaller. Keep the large "A" make the "stral" smaller and plop a smaller "Pulse" underneath. I can see where you are coming from aligning the L's but it's superfluous.

As a title, "Astral Pulse" I think is perfect.  

The space background across the top is okay, if you are into that kind of thing. But to me it's all too "mid 70's/early 80's new-age mystic". Plus, it takes up way too much space while saying virtually nothing. What the woman's head serves to represent I cannot fathom... it's corny and unnecessary.

Also I don't know if it is my eyes, or what, but the existing forum pages where the posts alternate between white and blue background: I'd say the blue is way too dark.

The left-hand navigation bar can be made thinner. The index needs to be spread out a little more. Plus, it starts out with sections one under another, which is fine, and then suddenly it's 2 by 2 then 3 across at the bottom. A far simpler arrangement would be to simply put them one below the other as it starts out doing.

The content frame is neatly set out and flows fairly logically. It could be spaced out a little more. Which can easily be accomplished by halving the size of the top border and making the left-hand margin a little thinner. Then there would be ample space for more actual content. The big round logo on the top right of the content frame is too big. I like the black text on a white background because it is so easy on the eye and makes it much easier to read. Which is essential when giving out information.    

Er, I think that's it.

G'day Folks!

Major changes have been proposed for the Astral Pulse website, to make it blend in better with the new forums and be more visually appealing and etc.  This will involve major alterations to graphics, colours and navigation elements throughout the current site.

But we are not too sure how users will feel about these changes. So we have put up a test site where everyone can check it out for themselves, and vote yay or nay on the changes.

Please go to the below url and take a look at the proposed site.  

*Note that the only link that works there is the 'What's New' link.  

This will give you some idea as to how the new site would be set up.

Whether we go ahead with these changes or not is entirely up to our users. We will abide by the majority vote.
