Not able to upload my pic

On browsing to my pic in my computer, and presseing "change profile" - the next page says "The attachments directory is not writable. Your pic/avatar could not be saved".

Whats the issue ?

To be honest, I have no idea what the problem is, but we've had little success in getting it fixed. Until we do, which may be a year from now, I suggest uploading to photobucket or a similar service and link it. Sorry!
