Why are my posts taking so long to show?

haven't noticed this problem myself. I don't think it would be to do with the security either....but then again, I'm far from being a computer expert.

If it keeps happening, post in here again.

I would surely not use internet explorer for anything...
Use mozilla, opera or anything else but the microsoft product,
usually works much better [;)]

It is still occuring. Here is what is going on with this: whenever I go back to the home page the home page tends to "go back in time" (wow that sounds freaky) For example I come here for the first time today and there is a PM I have to read. I read it, respond, and then I go to active topics and look at that. I read a bit of a couple things. Then when I click on the "all forums" link it says I have a new pm, but when I click on the private messages link it's the same old PM and it says I have not read it.

And again today I had to close the browser window in order for my reply to actually show up. I think something is going wierd with my cookies and temporary internet files.

I will play around and if I find a way to fix this I will post it.

SpectralDragon

I hate to sound like I am nitpicking, but I have another problem. I have to clear my temporary internet files to log me out just to get the forum to show sometimes, and when I try to log back in the forum will not load.

Mystic Cloud

Remember to reload the pages. That helps for the PM thing atleast.

That might happen when, oh lets say someone is posting under alot of different names and then..  But I'm not too knowledgable about these things.[:P]

Perhaps someone will come and give you more help.

It would appear it's working this morning. I set explorer to low security. Hopefully it works out. I also cleared my cookies.

Another note is that I had the same problem with netscape navigator.

I'm currently running IE 6 sp1 with whatever latest security patches Micro$oft have offered this week, running with default "medium" security, and all seems fine.

Typically screwed up cookies will cause a problem here, so after deleting your cookies you might be ok again. Maybey check that you haven't got any spyware or obscure BHOs hampering your browsers. I've generally found Spybot to be the most effective at removing the nastier spies, and something like BHO Cop will check your browser for Browser Helper Objects that could be interfering.

Currently I am running ad-aware and I know it's not getting all of them so I will check out Spybot. Thanks James.

No worries!

I didn't think there was much difference between Ad-Aware & Spybot until I read a few reviews on the web, then had to remove some particularly nasty spyware off a collegues machine. Ad-Aware couldn't find the culprit. Spybot not only found it, it removed it and innoculated against it.

Although I hope you don't find any little nasties running on your PC, if you do, I hope you nail the basta...er...offending code [;)]

I make a reply somewhere and I can't see it right away. Is there something wrong with the board? has anyone else encountered this problem?

I have my Internet explorer set to medium security, maybe that could be it?
