hmmm, I'll have to stop being so lazy then, 2 hours before waking I usually just go back to sleep, on weekends anyway. I have been trying at night just before sleep but always end up falling asleep, it's the only free time I get really since I have to get up quite early for work.

what about the crossing your body parts thing? you know anything about that, i heard that's why ancient mummies always have their arms crossed since it keeps the spirit in the body, so if I cross my arms it will keep me in my body.

Hey Hey,

I have a small question about positions, firstly I'm very instruction oriented and like to follow instructions to the tee, then again I'm having real problems trying to AP since I also learn best when someone shows me how to do something and it's hard to get someone to show you feelings (like vibrations).

Anyway I've read a lot of guides on how to AP and most of them say get into a comfortable position, then they say lay flat on your back with your hands at your side, to me that's not comfortable, I prefer to lie face up, sometimes on my side even, with my hand over my head, fingers intertwined and preferably my legs crossed, although admittedly I was getting pins and needles in my legs from this last night.

I've seen in a few places that it's a no no to cross your extremities since it's bad for energy flow as well.

Anyway can anyone clear this up and give me advice on what different positions you use or have got to work, the flat on the back just isn't working for me.

Thanks

im sure next time ill have better luck ignoring them, it was more of a shock than anything, i was completely not expecting it so my concentration just *poof* and as a result my experience ended quite abruptly

ok, i havent been on since my last time i posted but thanks for the replies its always encouraging to know that others have been able to overcome obstacles that i am now currently facing.

I came back on and was going to start a new thread as its kinda related but kinda not to my first experience, the thing is i did actually have another experience but this one was a little less "comfortable" than the first, so me and my family went out to sunday lunch, to a nice little italian restaurant, not traditional but oh so nice :), anyway we came back and everyone pretty much fell asleep, i was in my room reading and started to feel my eyes closing, i put my book down, laid back and rested my eyes for a bit and must have drifted off, i dont know how long i was out but i do remember suddenly being in the 3d blackness you talk about although i wasnt in it for long as i was soon able to see into a garden, not much detail i just remember it being green, it was like i was looking through a window of rippling water (best description i can think off), everything was blurry so i thought to myself "clarity now" and "clear vision" i couldnt think what to do but i had read that this helps you see clearly and again it was as if i was on automatic pilot, it wasnt a consious decision to do this i just did it, so i was quite pleased with myself there. Then the problems started, for some reason my arms felt like they were on fire, it was like a really intense version of pins and needles but really hot and it was causing me discomfort, i ignored it and kept going, trying to clear my vision but the feeling wouldnt stop, i didnt know what was going on, i cleared my vision enough so that the centre of my vision was clear but the edges were still blurry, i could see the grass in the garden and i was being drawn down into it like i was crashing, at one point i think i was actually drawn right down under it, i could see soil and stuff untill i kinda focused on my arms again, my vision blurred more and i woke abruptly.
I thought the feeling may have been i was lying funny and my body actually had pins and needles but i when i woke i was lying flat on my back and my arms felt normal, its not gonna put me off trying till i get it but does anyone have any ideas what it could have been?, im thinking its just a basic lack of control but thats just a complete guess since i know i lack control atm anyway :)

i was looking, all i can see is a cantelope playing golf, anyone else get that? :D

its so weird though, truthfully i was always a little skeptical about it and maybe thats what was holding me back so the one time it worked was when i was completly open and not expecting anything, truthfully i tried to recreate the whole thing this morning but it failed miserably, fingers crossed it wont be long to my next one and then an actual extended experience would be nice

i'd say i do need the sleep, i never go to bed at decent times and therefore may not have the concentration or energy levels to experience any kind of coherent LD, i just like dreaming so as long as i dream thats good enough for me, since reading everything i can on the subject, in the last 6 months my dreaming has gone from about 1 per week to about 1 every night, i have my off nights but it sure is fun , i was a little mad i didnt  have a proper LD there but i recently had something better, my first ever AP experience, funny thing was i had given up on AP and had been reading everything i could on dreams so that when i could eventually LD i could then induce AP from my LD, i guess all the stuff about not forcing it and letting it happen naturally is right, hard when your as impatient as me but hey we live and learn :D

this is the closest i have ever been to AP in my life and the best thing is i did it completly without thinking, i have to tell someone about it  because im so excited and since the only people i know are skeptics this thread will do :D

right so i had to get up early to go into dublin today to run a few messages so i had to get up early right, set my alarm for 8:30, not really early but i have been getting up at 12:00 during my time off, anyway for some reason i wake up at like 6:00 and cant get back to sleep no matter what, i drift off a few time and when i look at my clock again its like 6:30, got ticked off then, drifting in and out of sleep i wake up at 8:00, drift back to sleep, blah blah blah, anyway this time when i wake up it wasnt like the other times, it was like i was opening my eyes and seeing through a cylinder or a kalediscope, i could see my light hanging from the roof, then my view sort of became clearer and i knew i was seeing out of my eyelids, once i realised that, my body felt all blobby, i could feel my real body but then above that was my astral body, all kinda floaty and blobby like, i cant describe it adequately, i think my head and my astral head were still connected but my astral body was floating away at a 45 degree angle to my body (if you get me),  then i pulled myself back in because it hit me that i had to get up soon and i didnt know how long the AP would take since i heard you can loose track of time, it wasnt like i actually decided this either, the thought just flickered briefly through my mind and bam i was back in my body, it was brief but there was no mistaking the feeling, there was no lose in conciousness, no falling back to sleep, i was in my body opened my eyes with a smile on my face and did a little dance, im quite pleased with myself really, i also went on a fast for 3 days there so maybe that had something to do with a change of energy or something or maybe it was blind luck, im thinking a combination of both or even a combo of many things, hopefully now that i know what feeling to look for it may come a little easier but in saying that im sure my next AP will come an unexpectantly as this one, looking forward to it anyway *woot*

one of the things i do to realise im dreaming is to write AID on my hand everyday, cant remember what it means - something induced dream, doesnt matter, anyway im supposed to look at my hand when im dreaming and if its there i know im awake, if its gone or changed slightly i know im dreaming, its never worked before because i never remember to look at my hand   but last night i woke up i was really confused, i thought to myself, "wait, am i dreaming?", i then scrunched up the corner of the pillow with my hand, it felt really real so i thought no im awake, then i looked at my hand and it was blank, no AID, so i knew i was dreaming, then i thought "oh well" and went back to sleep....in my lucid dream, pisses me off that i didnt do something but its the most lucid dream i ever had, i could have sworn it was real, the pillow felt so real. i think my problem is i like sleep too much, i must suffer from a mild case of narcolepsy or im just a lazy bum because it seems that i not only want to go to sleep all the time in RL but in my dreams too

In my dreams im usually doing something stupid, like last night i was drooling on someone's flowers, which upset them, while watching myself do this on TV.......anyway i remember meeting a demon in my dream, he was huge and black but he had like a red outline, he was real ugly, i saw him and thought "i have to kill this guy", i ran up to and plunged my sword into him, dont ask me were the sword came from, he looked down at me quite calmly and said "that wasnt very nice", then i felt bad and apologised, he said he would be ok and would regenerate, then i helped him with his shopping, he makes small cameos in my dream now and then, maybe he is like a guide but my screwed up head just applied a weird form for him.

Quote from: runlolafrom what I read you have to take it a few times before it really works.

how many, its  too expensive for me to be buying it all the time and what sort of gap should you leave between hits then?
plus i was using my homemade gravity bong as i read that gives the best effect, meant i had 2 litres of pure smoke to suck up, i was doing 0.4g hits
with a space of about 10 mins in between hits since the bong takes a while to prepare, all in all i did 2x0.4 and 1x0.2 since i only had a gram of the excrement.

i could only get the 5X, tried it, need something stronger :(

slight visuals when i was lying on the bed, could sort of see a faint outline of a jelly fish swimming when i closed my eyes, i only felt slightly sluggish, was laughing a bit at random crap, then i answered the phone and it was for me but for some reason i thought i was away out, so i said "he's gone out, bye", apart from that the buzz lasted about 30 mins tops, really need the strong stuff i'd say, not really worth the price of €20 though :P

Welcome to Dreams! / Evil Dream
June 06, 2006, 04:59:29
That was quite a spooky story, i dont really believe in evil spirits or anything but i remember when i was at jonas ridgeway there was one guy who woke up with marks on his chest and he related it to something attacking him in the astral plane, alot of people on the site didnt agree with him and said that it was the subconsious mind, its like the power of suggestion, anyone ever start scratching themselves near you and you start to become really itchy as well?, i cant remember any of the other examples used but its along those lines.

I dont know about the sound of someone running about your house at night, you sure it wasnt your brother doing it, kids have a tendency to do things and blame their imaginary friends, i remember my brother used to say he saw a baby in the mirror and it scared the crap out of my sisters, it was funny because he has the same sense of humour as me and i could tell he was joking, i could see he was really serious but also trying not to laugh and he was quite young at the time so maybe your brother is doing the same kind of thing?

i dont believe that some guys friend has done it, always sounds like BS when you say my friend said he did it, get your friend to show you! get him to knock over a can with a ki ball that will prove it to you at least then you can spread the word from 1st hand experience.

I did once see a chi kung master or something like that, he had someone stand on one side of a wall and he was able to send his chi through the wall to knock the guy back, it was on some site, but was ages ago so cant remeber where it was, im always very skeptical about video as it is easily faked but i like to think, to myself at least, it was real. if it was possible then i would say it would takes years of practice and energy work to even knock over an object , if it was as easy as your friend said darkcha then we would all be runing around knocking everything down with our "ki" :P

Welcome to Dreams! / More fun in dream land.

Quote from: cainam_nazierMost of the time I am aware and lucid, as in actively thinking, during my dreams.  However I am still "driven" by the dream to a point.  Some dreams, like this, I mostly just want to see where the dream goes, and therefore never think at the time to stop and think things out or look around.

hmmm, yes i have exactly the same problem as this, i know im dreaming but cant do anything about it, its like im experienceing the dream but am being swept along with it, quite annoying in retrospect
