For example, there is no matter to study 3 or 4 long course in some commercial things to get money and then make good things and do good jobs- You need to think closer. Do all the best that you can do in short period- 3, 4, 5 years long time...

And remember- 2012 changes will be a very,very good thing to this planet.

Festival for the Soul ''Harmony 2007'' ! ! !

To be in harmony with the Time/Space/Universe

Place/Time- Planet Earth/Europe/Latvia - 13.-15.07.2007.


Goal of the project is to realize music festival ,,Harmony" with participation of different Latvian and foreign musicians and artists that will last for 3 days. In the framework of the festival will be played live music, DJ performances, and also there will take place prose and poetry readings, lectures on different spiritual development possibilities. In the territory of festival will be no possibility to by alcohol and tobacco but will be available vegetarian cuisine.

Project is an attempt to stimulate spiritual development of the people and to diversify musical environment. It is also a protest against widespread alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse. By means of the festival ,,Harmony" we aim to show that it is possible to have quality, great and enriching recreation without alcohol and drug abuse and without smoking.

Since this project will be accompanied by wide publicity (in press and Internet, television, radio), it is a great image advertising opportunity for Your company – advertising on the Internet (home page of the festival ,,Harmony" http://harmony.zapto.org ; Internet banners of the festival), radio and press issues, probably also on the television etc., because name and logo of Your company will appear in every information connected with the festival. We will be very grateful if Your company will find a possibility to support our project and to help us realize this unique idea.


MOTIVATION
We consider that in Latvia is needed such project where it could be possible to relax, to get information on healthy lifestyle, spiritual development, and where people could be free from baneful influence of the alcohol and tobacco.
By means of analyzing different activities in Latvia we found out that in approximately 90% of the musical activities it is allowed to freely buy unlimited amounts of alcohol. Also we found that approximately 80% of all Latvian festivals are supported by at least one of the alcohol or tobacco production companies. We would like to get rid of the stereotype that musical activities should be also connected with alcohol and drug abuse and to show that there are different ways to attract financial means. Becoming of such festival is especially important now when in the society has been seriously brought up issues about juvenile alcohol and different drug abuse in the mass activities like music festivals, discotheques, etc.

GOALS
1) To promote identification of the music styles that will be represented in the festival (ambient; chill out; indie; new age; folk/ethno; world; soul; classic; experimental, etc.) in Latvia, to give opportunity to perform musicians that represent these music styles as well as to heighten in the society interest on such music.

2) To enhance interest on and to promote healthy life style and healthy food – in the territory of the festival will not be sold any alcohol, tobacco or fast food; in the territory of the festival will be presented information on healthy lifestyle, it will be possible to participate in the different lectures and to watch different movies on these issues. Also during festival we will show advantages of the ecological cuisine.

3) To create friendly, harmonic and positive leisure time activity for whole family without alcohol, tobacco and unwholesome food.

4) To appeal people to pay more attention to the mental values. During the festival it will be possible to visit different lectures and meetings with representatives of different religious movements. It is planned to offer workshops and lectures on yoga, meditation, self recognition etc. Also will be organized different discussions on philosophic issues.

5) To contribute to the development and recognition of the new Latvian musicians – new Latvian groups and musicians will have the opportunity to show their skills and talent in the New Musicians` contest ,,Young Time!" that will be held during festival. Winner will be appointed by visitors` vote. Each of the participating bands will have a special task – one of the songs will have to be created (or arranged) especially for the festival and will have to include one of the main motives of the festival (for example, healthy food, nature harmony etc.).

6) To improve animal shelter situation in Latvia. 1 LVL from each sold festival ticket will be donated to the animal shelter ''Dzīvnieku draugs'' (''Animal Friend'').

7) To further brotherhood of nations – during the festival visitors will have an opportunity to get acquainted with culture and traditions of the different nations. In 2007 particular accent will be on the American native inhabitants.
