Thank you, and yes even before I registered, like I think I have said before in another post, I have had moderate success with one of the techniques posted in a thread around here.

I'm just happy to find a community that offers explanations and insight into my odd experiences, instead of people always telling me to stay away from anything odd, like its taboo or something. I figure it's happening to me, and I'm going to work with it and learn about it.

I do look forward to being around here, and thank you once again.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Re: Lights around me

Interesting, I have an illusion with lighting but I think it's just my head. Theres one of those dimming lamps in the corner of my room, and sometimes even in broad daylight I'll walk in, and its like it's on for a split second, when I go to look at it & focus on it, I don't see any light. I don't think it actually comes on, it's probably just an illusion, but its interesting...

Do you feel anything when these lights turn on or off, perhaps vibes, pins & needles, dejavu, anything?

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone here has experimented with time perception alteration. I don't mean just being in class and thinking this is dull, hence time feels slower. I'm asking if anyone has stared at a clock hand and focused to the point where 1 second feels a bit longer.

I've meditated on the root chakra for quite sometime, I find it enhances will power. When I apply this meditation to the clock, I get better results...

I'm currently at the point where 1 second can feel like 4 seconds.

Thanks!.....Time to go to bed....

I'm not sure on this area of detail, but it's definately interesting, if you would like I wouldn't mind reading more if you are willing to go into detail.

Interesting, I like the number 7 (lucky number for me). MisterJingos Biological Clock statement is definately intriguing, because usually when I set an alarm clock to wake me at a certain time, I'll end up waking up 5-10 minutes before it goes off, and I will feel refreshed, or at least good enough to get up.

Well, first off I find the jedi joke funny. I do appreciate the works of George Lucas, though I only take them in moderation as entertainment, theres more to these works than waiving your hands around for 11 hours a day trying to learn "the force"... I understand that.

Second, I tried to explain it fully, in as many details as I could. I know its probably hard to judge or form a specific response, so I tried to make it as vivid as possible.

I considered a hallucination, but since I have never really had any of those that I can account for, its not likely. I did play the role of the skeptic untill I reached the only viable conclusion, based on what I know, have heard, and have experienced.

I'm not familiar with a poltergiest, I assume thats on the same lines as a ghost or astral entity capable of manipulating the physical plain, or something like that.

Has anything like this ever happend to me? Well I've experienced wierd things, both randomly and at will, but never any objects moving like this. The house was built in the 70's, its fairly modern compaired to the variety thats usually "haunted", nobody has died here, so I didn't consider that to hold much weight. However I have considered that perhaps since I have gotten more "heavy" into energy body works, and astral exploration (or at least an attempt to start the car, if you catch the drift). I've considered maybe my works have attracted the attention of other things, other entities or perhaps just stimulated my surroundings to allow for odd things.

I didn't do it, and I am currently pondering another entity possibly moving the glass. I can only speculate, but im keeping an open mind about it.

I appreciate your response though. It's definately comforting to know theres people here with ideas and understandings to share.

I'm really no authority at all, and I know only a little myself, but there is an experiment my friends were "willing" to participate with me on (they thought it was a game).

You might try working on sensing first, if you can get to the point to where your relaxed, your mind is awake & body is asleep, then just take in everything... relax, and be at the moment.  I was able to sense the presence of specific people with my eyes closed with this, "look" for others, but don't open your eyes.

If you have a dark room or dimmed room in your house, and some friends willing to play a simple "game", maybe you can get one of them (has to be 2 or more) to take off shoes & be as odd or stealthy as they want to enter your room for a moment, and see if you can sense their presence.

Like I said, I've had success with this, I don't know everything about it though, I'm no authority, it's just something you can try if you would like.

Best of luck to you.

I was referred to this forum by a friend that has assisted me with some of the odd things I've experienced, and since I took an interest in them he's also provided me with a small wealth of information, and resources. Very encouraging of the exploration in these odd events.

I finally decided to register tonight after a beyond wierd event...

I've found the forum very helpful in some of the techniquies, the first topic I read was like a small miniguide to Projection, and I had moderate success from time to time following the techniques, things like seeing through eyelids and sensing peoples presence, and being able to identify them strictly from sense (a small experiment I did with some friends, I may share sometime).

Hopefully my stay here will be able to help others, as I progress in learning, success, and everything else there is to experience.

For the record, my stance on religion is, nothings perfect and religions have their flaws, just like everything else. But assuming there is a creator we sometimes call "God", hopefully the exploration of the spirit and my interest in some of the odd things/paranormal, will help me understand things on another level.

I look forward to reading & writing here.

First let me say hello, I'm new around here (obviously), and I was referred by a friend, someone who has taught me what he knows, and encouraged my experiences, guiding me through some of the odd things around me.. he's quite trustworthy, as I reviewed a post somewhere around here regarding foul guidance (or maybe a note inside a post).

Ever since a young age, I've had an odd way of focusing visuals, instead of sitting down and looking around a room... I would sit down and just stare, I wouldn't be focusing on anything foreground, or background, almost as if I was tuned out of reality for a while, until someone said something or broke my "gaze". Usually I'd just sit there, while ambient noise persists in my mind (music, thoughts, etc). Well, now I'm 17 & have had some interesting happenings, one I'm going to share below as it complies with with the category.

Earlier this evening, about 30 minutes ago to be precise, I was eating dinner with my parents (Pad Thai), and I had a glass of tea I was drinking (not that it matters, but sweet sun tea). I had drank the whole glass, and it sat there empty. Very little condensation so it wasn't wet, the table under it wasn't wet. My mother was sitting across from me as she switched from chopsticks to a fork, and my father was far off to my right, out of reach of the glass. I was carrying on eating the rest of my dinner, we were making light conversation, it went from hot mustard for eggrolls, to the storm in the Carolina's, to swimming in riptides, to back pain & issues.

I would estimate roughly 2 minutes into the back pain story, I was looking straight forward to my mother, and looked over to my father, then back to my mother. Right at that moment, the empty glass moved, sitting flush with the table as if it would if it was still, but it moved at least 2 inches away from me, in an angled direction to the front, and right. At that moment I was not trying or intending to perform anything telekinetic, or otherwise, infact my mind wasn't even on the glass. I realized the glass was moving, and it took a small moment to register, and I asked my mother "SHH! Did you see the glass move? Did you see it move? Dad did you see that?" they both looked at me as if nothing had happend. I'll come foreward and say they aren't the type to notice small things, but the glass definitely moved.

After it had moved, I thought instantly that some external entity or influence had moved it, because I had no will or intent to do so. Without missing a beat, I immediately commenced on a reality check, I looked at a manual clock on the wall, which read 8:15, the microwave across the room, which read 8:16, and the clock on the news channel on the TV, which also read 8:16 ES, the time checked out so I immediately closed my eyes and tried to induce a quick relaxed state, and saw nothing. I proceeded to pinch myself, followed by placing my hand over my mouth and nose, I could not breathe. Everything checked out reality.

I quickly made my way to my room, to see if my friend was at his computer at all, I found another friend, but not the one I was looking for. So I explained what happened to him, and he thought it was beyond weird.

I reviewed all of the rational possibilities for this to happen, the glass had no condensation, it was not wet, the table was not wet.
I do not live in an area that commonly has tremor's, I live in the midwest. No seismic activity occurred at all.
Nobody moved my glass, everyones limbs were to themselves, and I saw nothing touching it other than the table.
My cat, was under the table, sleeping.
I looked under the table, nothing was attached to the under side, and the glass was made of plastic, so no magnet could have moved it.

This convinced me some other entity, or another will that I was not aware of had to be responsible, or something like another entity.

So, here I am completing this description as best as I can, for those of you who skimmed over it, I'm sorry it's lengthly, and for those of you who read it in full, thank you, and again I'm sorry it's lengthly. All feedback is appreciated. I'm not sure what happend, but I think I have a decent idea of what happend... I can only interpret it as I saw it.
