That is very interesting. Its amazing when you do that, I have done it a few times. I'f you are familiar with Carlos Casteneda's book, what you did is called dreaming using the "twin position's".

Basically the sorcerer's that he learned from told him this in one of his books called the art of dreaming. Its an ancient sorcerer's technique. They spent many many genorations learning how to perfect the energy body and came up with many wonderful ways on how to manipulate perception and cognition while in the energy body. In his book the method that is explained basically goes like this.... Oh by the way...The sorcerers that he learns from don't really see a difference between dreaming and OBE or astral projection the way we do. They call everything involved with the second body simply "dreaming".

   The technique goes like this:

Once a sorcerer has gained sufficient control over his/her energy body, they can utilize the twin position technique.  When you are in a dream(astral projection/OBE), what you do is you fall asleep again in the dream(OBE) in the same position you fell asleep in originally. What this does is fixates your assemblage point(sorcerer term for point of awareness) very well, better then normal, thus you get an amazing clarity that you would not normally get in dreaming (OBE).

Its very interesting. You should read his book "the art of dreaming" to get a better conprehenssion of the technique. Anyways I think its amazing that you discovered it for yourself. I have done it and I know how amazing the clarity is  :-)

If you read any Carlos Castaneda he describes numerous experiences where he has perceived from two places at once while standing and also while carrying out other activities such as walking etc etc. I do believe it is possible. "Human potential is nothing to sneeze at", as he would put it:)

One such insident described by Don Juan (the sorcerer whom apparently trained Carlos Casteneda) involves a situation where Don Juans teacher pushed him into a fast moving river in order to shock his perception and perform an amazing feat. After he was pushed into the river he ended up perceiving himself running along side the river as he was swimming. His veiw bounces back and forth between the two perceptions. He ended up getting trapped on an island in the middle of the river. He spent days there where apparently he expereinced the final perfect control of his dreaming body after his benefactors teaching method of pushing him into the river. He traveled with his "second body" for a week straight until he was rescued.

Their are many other expereinces which he writes about involving OBE in general, though they call it the second body. I highly reccomend readinf the material to anyone interested in OBE.
