this actually happened 6 years ago and I had no prior meditation practices or any prior astral projection attempts. I think that's probably why i was so freaked out, 'cuz i tried to astral project and meditate for the first time and didn't know what to expect, and it just seemed like everytime i attempt i see something that's out of the norm.... like the body energy, and the misty figure hovering on top of me (my projected double?)

I haven't really tried since then since i was so freaked out about being possessed by spirits and what not..... but after reading bruce's book and realized that what i saw was probably my own projected double, it made me want to finish what i started 6 years ago and see what other spiritual enlightement i could obtain... since it was so easy for me to see my projected double, and my own body energy-- the process just seemed natural to me and came with ease.... i'm not really trying to sound cocky or anything, and i'm sure lots of you probably went through the same thing... but i believe that each person's energy field, or the way we are built up are different, and for some people, spriritual enlightement might be easier to experienced than others, just like how some people will never believe a word we tell them of our own experiences when we tell them, and they will forever not know some of the age-old-questinos such as: are there spirits in the world, do spiritual energy exists, is there life after death..... things in that nature... from my few attempts in astral projection, it seemd like i could be down the same path as many of you who have already walked the path, which is why I i would like to continue my journey and see for myself what else is exactly out there.

I have tried to Astral Project for the past few days, and here's exactly what happened.

I was laying on my bed at night with all the lights shut off, and after about 40-50 minutes of deep breathing i felt as if my body was getting heavier as though i was starting to sink slowly into the bed - a feeling as if my body was getting slowly lowered deeper and deeper... however, i was completely conscious at the time.

The next thing that happened was that it seemed like as if my mind's eye had opened and eventhough my eyes were closed it seemed like as if i was starting to see through a fog until i could actually see what was on top of me... i opened my eyes and saw a million of little tiny white particles floating and swirling around on top of my body (like electrons swirling around a neucleus) since this was the first time i had ever seen anything out of the norm, i moved my arm to that area and all of a sudden all the hair on my arm stood right up..... and after a while i ended the session right there. (Was I seeing my own body energy?)

The next 3 days i attempted to Astral Project by going through with the same ritual... and achieved the meditative state like the first.... and like the first day, with my eyes closed i started to see an image of a greenish and misty figure hovering right on top of me.... (then i opened my eyes, and the misty figure was still there, hovering.

On the first day i couldn't make out who it was, but i knew it was a mist with a face... then the second day, i saw the same thing, but the face seemed to be cleared this time as i could make out an eye and some other vague and blurry facial figures. Of course i was a little freaked out again and just decided to pull over my bed cover and tried to think happy thoughts and fall asleep. Then again, the third night, i saw the same misty facial figure hovering above me when i was trying to astral project... but this time i could make out the nose and the lips.... and again, i stopped what i was doing at the time.

Later on i read Bruce's book and from how the book explained, i think i saw my own projected double, and now that i think about it, the face does look similar to mine..... and from the book it seems like this is the stage right before the actual astral projection where the body actually leaves the body, so i was actually very close to an actual projection..

I was wondering if anyone has any experiences similar to mine?

In addition, how could I get past this stage? It seems like i'm completely conscious when i was seeing my projected double, and even after i got freaked out by it and tried to sleep it off... i could seel see the greenish misty figure hovering above me when i open my eyes..... it seemed like i opened something and eventhough i was no longer meditating the gate still stayed opened.... i noticed this because i didn't know what it was at first and was really scared of it thinking that it might be some spirit i'm seeing.... and all i was trying to do was cover myself up in ym blanket and try to sleep it off and forget about it, and somehow i could still see it somehow. until i tried to focus my mind off of it or until i actually fell asleep.

Can i have my eyes open and can i be conscious when trying to transition  from the stage i experienced to the stage where i want to be (the stage where i actually astral project?)  'cuz for 3-4 consecutive nights i have been in a conscious stage when i saw my projected double, but not sure how i should progress to actually achieve an OBE

I was wondering, if i start practicing healing and energy work in general, and not astral project, would the act of using a great amount of energy be a source of attracting to these negs? as they seem to feed off energy.

Isn't it true that you'll aways run into someone better than you? especially in the astral world where anything is possible and the fact that we have no idea to the limit and number of these beings?

Also, wouldn't the act of raising an energy shield alone be enough to attract them to you? So if a person who doesn't astral or deal with these worlds, would it be better for them to not even mess with shielding, healing or any other forms of energy work? 'cuz if you start raising a shield and manipulating energy or raise a large amount of energy for healing or practice, wouldn't that be a way for them to 'smell' where you are? And if this is true, then healers are probably one of the bigger targets of these negs am i right? since they probably have to use a lot more energy in their line of work?

Anyone  know a good book on energy work or healing?

But what about all those threads in the Psychic defense and possessions section of the forum? there's gotta be some truth to all those posts am i right? i'm sure possession and attacks dont happen as often, but they do exists...... this is what held me back and the reason why i stopped practicing 6 years ago eventhough i made pretty good progress on my first try.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced seeing his/her own projected double in an Astral Projectioin/OBE attempt?

6 years ago in an attempt to perform astral projection for the first time, i felt my body getting heavier and heavier and had a feeling as though i was sinking into my bed.... then suddenly as if my third eye opened. i started to see through the fog eventhough my eyes were closed.... and even with my eyes opened i started seeing a green misty figure floating and hovering ontop of my own physical body. I was fully awake at this point and was conscious...though my physical body might have been paralysed..... At first i did not know what to think except i know that the green mist resembles a figure... then the next night i tried the same thing again and each night i started to make out more of this thing i was seeing until one day i was positive because i started noticing the facial figures like the nose, eyes, lips...etc at first it really freaked me out and i did not know what to think.... this was before i read Astral Dynamics by robert bruce... so i just forced myself to sleep and tried to forget about what happened....  but after reading his book. it started to make mroe sense to me and now i believe that what i was seeing was most likely my projected double.... as shown from the astral projection timeline diagram.... a figure facing directly down ontop of the physical body.

Has anyone experienced the same thing i have? And what color was their projected double? I'm very curious as to why i saw my own projected double since most people are not even fully awake or conscious when they get to this state..... as well as the color of my projected double.

What an amazing forum! I have bought Robert Bruce's book a long time ago but did not know he had such a nice web page up online. Keep up the great work and let's share our wonderful the unique experiences.

Without further ado here's my experience:

Before i even came across Rorbert's book, I stumbled across the idea of astral projection when i was reading books such as Tibetan Book of Living and Dying, and other wonderful books on the third eyes and such. On top of that i have always been interested in finding out whether there is a higher consciousness or another level of existence.

This has been a question asked by men through the dawn of time, and i'm fortunate enough like the many of you to have been able to experience a glimpse to this answer.

Six years ago, i was practicing astral projection for the first time in my life. I was lying in my bed at night with the lights shut off and concentrating on my breathing to help me meditate (clearing my mind) and achieve a trance state when i started feeling a sense of heaviness as though i was sinking deeper and deeper into my bed. Then after a while it felt as if my third eye opened... because i was fully awake and had my eyes shut closed, but for some reason, i was able to see as if the fog infront of my eyes were getting clearer and clearer... it is then when i started to see thousands and thousands of tiny white particles on top of my body; hovering and swirling around... is it then i started to open my physical eyes... and to my surprise i was still seeing the same thing. so this being the first time i have ever seen anything out of the norm, i moved my hand and arm towards the area of my body and suddenly all my bodyhair stood up as if they touched an electrical current....This was my first experience... i stopped a few minutes after... not because my mind snapped out of it, becuase eventhough i was 100% consicous and aware what i was seeing and no in a trance state, i just stopped the whole activity to collect my thoughts and think about what exactly just happened.

So the next night, i did the same thing in hope of achieving astral projection... and same thing happened.... but this time instead of seeing my energy.... i saw a green mist hovering on top of myself. I did not know what to think... but all i know was that it closely resembled a human figure because what i saw wasn't a clear image like you would see form a picture , but i was pretty sure it was a figure.... and the next night i did the same thing agian, and started seeing the same green misty figure.. but this time i could make out its features a little bit more.... then the next night, same thing... and each night i was able to make out of the figure a little bit more... i started to make out the eyes, the nose, the lips of the facial structure... again it's not a clear picture, but these features are definetly without a mistake.... and this figure just keeps hovering on top of my body as i lay there.... to be honest, i was a little freaked out of the whole experience and did not know what to think.

and the strangest thing was that.... during the day the next day i had a weird experience. it was as if i saw that same facial figure (i think it might just have been the eye that i saw) in my peripheral vision, at the blind spot. i'm not sure how exactly to describe this really.

Anyway, my mom is a budhist as we were from Taiwan, and she had a very devoted budhist friend who doesn't eat meant and would pray for hours a day. Anyway, the reason i brought this up is i told this experience to my mom and like any mom would say: i think it's probably best if you be careful... but she also told me the story that her devoted budhist friend told her... anyway the story goes like this: a friend called taht lady because she had a friend who started acting really crazy just out of the blue.... started speaking in a different language and even tried to pick up a knife to kill her husband... they had no idea what was going on so they called my mom's friend to come and have a look... so anyway she went, and started saying a prayer while putting a hand on the lady and the posessed lady just flinched away from her as if she was afraid of something..... then they had to get an exorcists type person to get the spirit of the lady and etc etc...... now. this lady just happend to live upstairs from a person who was having a funeral at his house.... it was a gloomy day like in the movie and she used to practice a lot of tai chi.... so i'm not sure if it's because of the negative energy that was around during that day and the fact that she was practicing tai chi and meditating and left her physical body empty and vulnerable or something... but this really freaked me out... and no i do not believe my mom made this story up for the fact that i know this devoted budhist friend of my mom as well and do not doubt her for a second....

so anyway, this is why i havent practiced since, eventhough i am still very much intrigued.

I did read robert bruce's book after my own experience and from what i read, i might have been the more sensitive type person who was able to see my own projected double during a fully conscious state..... i was even more amazed at the diagram he drew of the timeline of the astral projection from the preparing stage, to the near astral stage (it has a picture of a projected double hovering on top of the projector's physical body)

And after reading the book.... i started to t hink that maybe what i saw was not a spirit or entity at all, but maybe my own projected double... and now that i think about it. the facial features do look a little similar like me....

So that's my experience in a nutshell.... has anyone experienced anything similar? I would very much like to hear what you all think of my personal journey as well as a better clarification and maybe a story or two from your own personal journey, since i have only gotten to the near astral stage.... but i was amazed at how easily i entered into this whole experience, as well as how easily it was for me to actually see things with my third eye.

It was a wonderful experience i will never forget.
