Like I said, not all fall into the same group as I do. There are people who use it all of their life and don't experience this (my father is one of these people!).

But the other group, like me, react differently. Mostly everyone who tokes knows someone who gets paranoid on it...

Quote from: MindFreakSiVA I dont know where you get yours but I never feel any depression, anxiety, obsession, or paranoia when I toke and I live in vancouver BC.

Depression arises when coming down from it, or the next morning when I feel like excrement.

Anxiety comes when knowing I have a toke waiting for me, but I have to do something first (like work).

By obsession, I'm referring to how addictive it can be.

Paranoia: It's no secret about this one...

Sure everyone reacts differently, but I would argue that a large percentage of people who use it or have used it have experienced these symptoms. If anyone argues this point they are either immune to these problems or they are in denial or they are new to the drug.

When I started, for the first year or two, it was awesome! Talk about having fun! But your body adjusts over time and reacts differently.

According to this website, karma is a bhuddist concept.

Indeed it is a buddhist concept. Hinduism came before buddhism, and Karma is well established in the Hindu faith as well.

I'm no theologian, but I believe the concept is along the same lines in both Hinduism and Buddism.

Back to the topic, as a former Marijuana user I don't have much good to say about it besides that it does give a different perspective on things. I can be more creative on it sometimes. However, the depression, anxiety, obsession, laziness, paranoia, slovenly-like behaviour/sideaffects that go along with it far outweigh the upside.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / numerology

Hi James,

Thanks for the very informative reponse. Yes, everything you said makes sense, except I'm not sure my numerology numbers quite line up with my character/personality type.

I'm not very sociable, and my communication skills are horrible. Maybe those are things I'm supposed to work on in this lifetime...

Thanks again,

I'm sure there is indeed actual indigo/crystal children, but I think people are too quick to label a child as indigo/add/adhd just because they are not taught basic social skills and respect by their parents.

I have two children myself, and one of them could be labeled ADHD because of some of his behaviour but we are working really hard on teaching him what is the difference between appropriate and inappropriate behaviour. IT IS REALLY HARD WORK!

My wife and I have many friends who come over with their kids, and a lot of them are absolutely out of control! Here are some things that they do, which they shouldn't be doing:

1. Interupt the mother or adult when the adult is speaking with someone else.
2. Continue to argue with the mother until the mother gives up and the child gets the last word
3. Yells at the mother when things don't go their way
4. Don't address other adults with a "hi" or "good bye" upon arriving, leaving
5. Defy the mother's simple requests: "sit at the table and eat" "Wash your hands" "Use manners" etc...
6. Oh yea, Manners! None of these children are taught basic manners!

It would be so easy to label them with a disorder, simply because they are misbehaved and it is entirely the fault of the parents.

Or maybe the parents DO a good job, and the children are still hyperactive. Well, have they ever thought of looking at their diet? Most kids today are so jacked up on high fructose corn syrup from their daily dose of Fruit Loops, Soda, Junk food, sugary juices, etc... that it's no wonder they need to be medicated!

Yes there are indigo children, yes there are kids with adhd/add, but there are too many kids that are simply mis-diagnosed/mis-labeled because it's just easy to do that, instead taking the hard road and putting in the time and effort to bring the child up properly (and put them on a proper diet!).

Welcome to Astral Chat! / numerology

HI,

I was talking with someone who knows a bit about numerology, and they were fascinated when we did the numbers on my young boy. He was born in 11/10/2000 so if you add those up it's only 5 (1 + 1 + 1 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 0). Most people have a two digit number, mine is 32, so you end up with three numerology values from a two digit number: 3 (first part of 32) 2 (second part of 32) and 5 (3 + 2).

So does anyone know how all of this applies to someone with just a single digit?

Thanks,

Welcome to Dreams! / prophetic dream

Wow, what a fascinating story! Thanks for sharing. My childhood is one big blackout for me, so I might try your technique to try to bring back some of those memories... When you want to focus on a date in the past, what do you actually do? Just think about that date and try to form images...?

Quote from: fliesatniteDepends I supposed on what you're looking for or trying to achieve with your meditations.

Reasons I meditate:
1. I want to someday achieve self-realization (as taught by my Guru)
2. Lasting peace of mind, Happiness
3. To gain better control of my mind so I can stop bad habits, and focus better on other, more important things

Quote from: fliesatniteAre you specifically trying to 'hone' in your precog. dream skills?  Or are you looking to balance out precognition while awake as well?  Do you experience precognitions other than in a dream state?

I only experience them in Dream state, and they are purely accidental but I would like to experience this more in my dreams.

Sometimes I wake up in the morning and I have the feeling I've dreamt about something profound, but can't get at the memory...

Usually I always remember my dreams, but in these cases I should try to meditate right away to retrieve that memory.

Thanks for the reply. Yes precognitive is a better word to use.

Actually I should've mentioned that I've been involved in meditation for a few years, however this year I have been developing more consistency with it. Maybe that is helping things along...

Do you experience any precognitive insights while in a meditative state? Or does meditation during the day help with more clairvoyent dreams at night?

Welcome to Metaphysics! / prophetic dream

Hi,

Note: I just made this post in the Dreams forum, but this sounded like it was also appropriate.

Over the past year I've been having dreams that would come true within the following few days (usually the next day). Most of them have been very pointless/useless things, like:

1. Dream about a former TV personality, who hasn't been on TV in a long time, and the very next morning he was the first thing I saw when I switched the tv on.

2. Dream about someone offers me something as a gift that I haven't had in a long time. The next day it comes true.

3. etc...

But some of them have been more serious. My brother used to use cocaine and has troubles with various addictions, like Grass, Alcohol and Gambling. He's been off cocaine for 8 months. Last week I had 3 very vivid dreams about him. One of them was that he was doing cocaine again and this was last Thursday.

Today I was talking with him and as a joke I asked him if he has done cocaine recently and he denied it. Then I told him about my dream and later he confessed that the dream was true and he did it on Friday night.

In retrospect I wish I had of called him Friday morning and warned him... but I guess it was his fate.

So my question is, how can I develop this skill further to focus on things that are of more importance, like my brother's cocaine ordeal. Are there any techniques that will improve this?

A few years ago I used to keep a dream journal, and did that for a few months until I got bored and went onto something else...

Thanks

Here's my journal entry:

Dec.9/02

Before I went to bed I went thru my relaxation routine, and listened to astral11.wav. I'm quite certain I fell asleep, then later awoke where I started to feel reeealy heavy and I started to sink. At that point I felt I was below my physical body.

Then I remembered Monroe and Free Flow 10 and I immediately tried to roll around like a log. I have the feeling that this wasn't working and that I was going to move my physical body and not my astral body, so I ended up being sort of trapped. Then I blanked out.

I don't know how much time passed before I found myself floating over one of the streets of the neighborhood where I grew up. It seemed everytime I took a deep breath in, I would float up passed the power lines, roam around a bit, then upon exhaling I would come back down.

There's another part to this dream that is missing but I can't retrieve it from memory.

This all came back to me while I was slapping peanut butter on my english muffins this morning.

I love flying dreams! The sensations are very powerful.

Thanks for listening.

Hi All,

Somehow or other I've managed to amass a library of different Metamusic series, from different new agers and the like. I would like to know if any of you have listened to these and benefitted you in anyway. They are:

Merlins Magic
Anna Wise - High Performance Mind
Brain Sync (Kelly Howell)
Dane Spotts - ALL his stuff
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson - Alpha, Theta, Delta Systems
Dr. Jeffrey Thompson - Brainwave Suite
Flightwaves
HoloSync
Stuart Wilde - The Art of Meditation

I didn't include Hemi-sync, because this is already in discussion.

You see, I'm a sceptic when it comes to this meta music stuff, because there are a lot of fakes out there in the new agers field (or any field for that matter). Thats why I'm asking you, the people I trust the most on these topics, for your opinions.

Thanks

Hi All,

I'm playing around with the Cool Edit 2000 Brainwave generator. I was wondering if anyone else has done some work with it and if they could give me some pointers or good resources where I could learn more about using it? The manual is a little brief on this option, and google didn't help much.

Thanks

Hi All,

I'm just rummaging through the my Gateway mp3's and it seems Waves V/VI are all MetaMusic like. I was wondering if anyone of you had some interesting experiences with these?

I prefer the voice guided exercises myself, as I find these music waves kind of distracting.

Your thoughts?

I lay down to do my relaxation technique, and once my body is asleep and my mind starts to drift slightly I'll be "jolted" back to reality, like a quick violent jerking movement of my body (Sometimes only a body part, like my Leg or Arm)

Although this is sometimes helpful in keeping me awake, I'm curious as to why this happens and if it's a sign that I'm on my way to an OBE.

Thanks for your thoughts

Lysear,

Yes, but you also have the people who want to help for the sake of being recognized as someone helpful. They say to themselves:

"Hey look at me, I'm a nice person, see?? Right?? right??"

Or, you have the people who do it because it makes themselves feel happy or warm inside. Surely this is not a bad thing, but their motive is still self-directed.

The ego works in subtle and mysterious ways sometimes.

Is there really selfless acts of kindness? Or is it just the ego in disguise?

Just some thoughts...

Hi Jade,

I'm more or less in the same situation as you. Except, I find as I get closer to the goal, something in me tends to rebel and I take a few steps backward.

So, how are you meditating?

For now, I'm simply concentrating on my breath coming in and going out. I concentrate mostly on the sound it makes. And I try to make the "intervals between thoughts" longer and longer. I also do some OM mantra meditation (speaking it aloud and lengthy). I do 10 minutes of each, in the morning and at night, with an empty stomach.

This was taught to me by an Indian guru who spent many years in the Himalayans and discovered his Kundalini.

Actually it's not "random" at all. It's quite static in fact.

I'm a programmer and I looked at the code for this, and I can guarantee you there's nothing mystical going on here.

As you were.

#19
yes, indeed I am

Seriously though, I will make an attempt to grow my astral/mental wings tonight!

drugs just suck, ok

Congratulations Jeff!

I think you should tell her, mainly because death can come at any moment, and I think it's our duty as astral travellers (ok, not me, but the rest of you), to pass this on to our loved ones, so they can learn for themselves that "they are not this physical body".

Good luck with that.

#22
Although I have Richard Websters "Astral Travel For Beginners", I actually haven't read it. But I HAVE read other beginners books by Webster and I find them all very good.

Dunno if that helps.

All this possesion talk is starting to sound like that T.V show, Quantum Leap.

He'd randomly appear in someone's body, not knowing who or where he was, for the purpose of helping them make it through some difficulty.

These posts are an interesting read, that's for sure!

BWG for "Brain wave generator" files. You have to import them into this program, which costs 30 bux, but there's a 30 day trial on it

I say go cold turkey! delete *.jpg , *.gif, *.mpg, *.avi, *.everything else porn media related.

If your right handed, then tie your right hand behind your back for a period of 2 weeks. Don't even try it with the ol' leftie, it'll be more annoying then anything else...

No seriously, it's like any other addiction. Change habits, friends (if applicable), and replace it with something, like, sewing.

Take care
