First off, i would just love to thank everyone for all of their feedback!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I especially like what Tayesin had to say in regard to his clients affected perception and then the nature of the soul in general.
My beliefs about the issue have always swayed from time to time between how much of an impact cannabis really has toward ones awakening. There were some periods because of this that i allowed me to really slip away for a brief period and my dreams had become much more clear and vivid and with much more remembrance of them. Unfortunately though as iNNERvOYAGER stated, the hardest part is slipping away from the social aspect which comes with smoking and i was sort of pulled back after long. The simple knowledge i've gained here should help me a lot however. Thank you!
I suppose the strongest recipe for becoming a lucid dreamer, with the most probable chance for success then, would simply be to dispel my old habit(s) and keep in constant recognition of this desire with whatever practice i may find practical for me.
I'm not sure what to believe in light of your topic though NoY... I've heard the rumors of cannabis becoming laced with toxic chemicals before, but never to that far of an extent!
There is so much floating around there... i want to be extra cautious of what i believe now days, especially after the whole Oct. 14th concept.
As you mentioned in your response to masturbation though... it is a means to managing your energy, but i would really love to "run some awesome energy" as Tayesin said only to find what other states are possible and i've heard before that this is why many spiritual teachers have recommended celibacy. The extent to which dreaming and having obe's is affected by your energy level i guess is really where my concerns lie with this topic in specific.
My final question now i guess is simply in the methods one should take toward spiritual practice in achieving an awakened state. A couple of my friends have both had obe's only briefly before which (without going into much detail) i would like to say are not illusionary and were true experiences for both of them. I gather that everyone will have their own methods towards their individual enlightenment, but how big of a step an obe would really be for me in the process seems to be one of my main concerns.
Should i focus more towards being able to dream well, being able to manage my energy centers as NoY mentioned is my duty to do and one day leaving my body, or just keeping myself happy??? It does seem to be that these are all interrelated subjects and that finding my own individual path towards all of these will eventually result in the same thing in the end, but whether or not one subject is more fundamentally basic than the other is where i am uncertain.
I'm really sorry for the length of this post but anyones response will be of immense benefit to me!
once again thanks in advance, and for the feedback i got for my questions originally.
Peace - Light - and Love to you all!!!

- Throughout my life, I have never really remembered my dreams all that well and I should say it's safe to attribute this to my early habit in smoking with my friends back in high school on some rather regular occasions. I would also assume it's safe to say that i have not become very very good at it because of this.
