Hi. I've got the Robert Peterson book, so I've just compared chapter headings and one of the chapters, and they are identical.

I also have "Astral Travel for Beginners" by Richard Webster and the Astral Projection Workbook by JH Brennan, and they are both pretty good overviews of the subject with various methods. Why not check your local library first, before you buy any.

I actually prefer reading about the author's own experiences, because they usually have instructions how they achieved it. It seems to take OBEs out of the realm of theory and make them more a practical reality. But each to their own.

While I agree with much of the above, there is a school of thought which saya that we never have to deal with more than we can handle. It may seem like we cannot cope, but our strength and learning comes through choosing to cope.

Also, suicide seems like a rather selfish act, in that everyone else has to pick up the pieces.

Also, if we are here to learn lessons, rather like being at school until we graduate, then we delay our progress by choosing to drop out of the process. Sooner or later we're going to have to get back in the classroom. I don't see suicide as immoral or against Divine Law, just an inappropriate solution. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, even if we cannot see it from wherever we may be.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Two Questions

Hi all. Like you, I have spent a lot of time climbing that rope, unable to get past a certain point, and I also find it hard to not visualise the rope, and in addition a part of me is always wondering what to do with my legs! But earlier this week something changed. I shifted my awareness from within my head to a point in front of my brow chakra, and immediately things began happening. Tingling, vibrations, floating, and clarity. I did not consciously project, but it's the closest I've come for a long time. So maybe the key is to shift our attention from a mind "within" the body to a mind external to the body.

Re the other question, the problem with porn is that it reduces people to mere physical bodies, (although some of them are pretty attractive). We are beings of spirit, and by focussing on the material we are getting caught in glamour and illusion. Spiritual development for me is about self-acceptance, and if there is a part of us that enjoys porn and masturbation, then the best thing we can do is accept it and even explore that side of ourselves. Eventually the mind gets bored, and then we can explore the potential of retaining our sexual energy for other purposes.
