Stookie, You are right about that, after reading a bit more into auras I have actually been able to see my aura (after many failed attempts throughout the years!) Though for some reason, there is no color to it...it is just clear...what do you make of this?

uum...anyone out there?

I was in the bath earlier today and I was just relaxing, sorta meditating, and just in a state of tranquility in general. I opened my eyes slightly and looked down at my legs, and at this point, the color in my line of vision started alternating from green to blue. It was brighter (but lighter) up until an inch or so away from my body, but my entire line of vision was effected. Was I seeing my aura, or do you think my eyes were just playing a trick on me?

At this time I was also actively trying to initiate contact with my spirit guide...what do you think of this?

Cannabis is weird when it comes to astral projecting (or attempting, as I have never fully been there.) I tried APing after smoking the last time, and I felt like I was more "out" than I have ever been before, but was being held back more than I have ever been at the same time. I know exactly what you mean when you say that you can see the walls of your room, but not feel them, I felt the same way last time...only with my bed...I tried the melting into the bed method last time, and while I could not feel the bed anymore, I knew I was there, I knew that it was a bed, and not a stick of butter, and that was holding me back...Marijuana has the effect of putting lots of thoughts into my head, which makes it hard to clear my mind and meditate.

lol, I forgot that I replied to this thread already...and said exactly the same thing...

It sounds like your true self needs to learn a lesson in karma. I believe that when you die, and are reincarnated, your spirit takes with it the deeds done in its past life, henceforth growing (or not) spiritually from lessons learned, and past life mistakes corrected (or not), this is the foundation of karma.

I have had one fully lucid dream that lasted (what seemed like) 5 minutes. I tried flying, and was successful, but I couldn't keep myself up because I don't think I really believed I could. In other, more frequent dreams I bounce very high and far, and land softly on the ground...I am usually aware I am dreaming in these dreams, but my actions are harder to control. I like the bouncing dreams, they're really fun, and I often bounce around cities, and off of buildings.

I have been experiencing this for a while now...But I feel like I am starting to get used to it, and I was able to calm myself during my last attempt. For me its more like reinforcement that I am on the right track, because its so commonly experienced before the first.

Thank you, I think you have pinpointed my problem; I have never been in a deep enough trance, so as not to feel my entire body. My core and head have always remained present...only my arms and legs have been "numb". I am so close I can feel it, I just get the feeling that I don't know how to make the exit, because I have never really done it before. I have read so much on the subject, I own at least four books but sometimes you just cant juxtapose written words to the real thing...

I have been trying to astral project for at least two years now and every time I feel myself about to leave (vibrations, twitching, a sense of floating) my heart starts to race so hard and rapidly that it distracts me back into full consciousness. Last night was the furthest out I have ever been, yet I got to a point that it felt like my entire body was pounding, like there were little shock waves emanating from the center of my body...what do I do about this?

I recently found out that my spine is curving in all the wrong directions, I have multiple pinched nerves and severe muscle asymmetry in my back (meaning one side is stronger and tenser, so it is pulling my spine out of whack)  It looks like I have scoliosis in the xrays...

Could this be the cause of my inability to AP? Could my tense muscles be keeping me behind?

Steel Hawk,
Thanks, I don't think my jewelery will hold me back, I have never felt anything negative, or any pressure.

I observed myself falling asleep last night, and I really didn't remember much about it. I fall asleep very fast, I don't know if that makes a difference, but I will see if I can try to focus on willing a buzzing sound into existence tonight, and see where it goes from there.

Welcome to Dreams! / Re: Flying in a Lucid dream

I frequently have flying dreams, only instead of flying, its more like jumping, or bouncing really high with a very low gravitational pull...I always end up landing back on the ground...The only time I have actually flown in a dream was during my one and only actual lucid dream.

I had my very first real vision while I was taking a break at work. I worked at a cafe in the ferry terminal, and I was sitting on one of the seats, with my chin on my hand, when I pictured a friend whom I hadn't seen for a couple of years, walking into the ferry terminal with a man, they walked up to me and started talking. About 20 seconds later, it played out IRL. exactly how it had in my head. Honestly, I have no idea what it means...the only thing that I can really think of is that our third eye is sometimes able to see into other realities, ones that are possibly 20 seconds ahead of this one...who knows really?

On a side note, I have continually had psychic encounters since then...I even saw a plane crashing (in the water in front of my house) about 10 minutes before it happened, only in my vision, it crashed into my house, and I dove over my friends son to protect him. Maybe you have had these occurrences more often because you are realizing your intuition, you third eye has been opened.

I haven't thought of a blindfold, but that might just help...I use progressive relaxation, tensing all of my muscles, including my face, and it seems to help for the first 10 minutes or so, then I realize that I am tensing them (eyes) again.

The jewelery is not a distraction, and if I take my jewelery out, its sort of difficult to get it back in...however, I did try it the other night with no jewelery, and I didn't feel as grounded..that's probably just all in my mind though.

I know I am trying too hard, but when I let everything go, I fall asleep...

I really...really don't want to give up on this, I know there is more out there, and I want to experience it...but I am starting to loose motivation big time.

Thanks for your input, it was very helpful.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / Re: Hello

Welcome, I'm new here too.
I think I have had a near death experience...while I was having surgery after birth complications, I was looking down at my body, I could see myself, and what they were doing to me. I also remember the weird cap of one of the doctors...very colorful and covered in animals.

Welcome to Members Introductions! / Re: My Intro

Hello!

I am also new to this forum, my name is Gina. I hope you don't mind me asking, but why have you lost your will to astral project, and such?

I have been trying to astral project for about a year, with no success, there are more details in my intro, but basically...I just don't know whats holding me back, what do you think?

Interesting...I was under the impression that the age of Aquarius didn't begin until the year 2150...or something around there...not 2012. 2012 has nothing to do with it in my opinion...just some date that some old guy who predicted thousands of things (so a few are bound to be true) made up. About the Mayan calendar...only the ignorant still think that it actually ends on 2012...there is a lot more to it than that...the Mayan calendar actually continues for millions of years.

Hello everyone, I want to start by introducing myself, My name is Gina, I live in Washington state, which is beautiful and inspiring. I have been attempting to astral project for over a year, but something is holding me back...I have probably attempted it about 15 times, to no avail. The only sensations I have really even felt are tingling around my third eye, and tingling in my extremities. I have tried various techniques, such as "growing" out of my body, "swinging"  out of my body, envisioning myself floating upwards out of my body, *and as a mist escaping from my third eye; this was the most successful technique, I use it when my third eye starts to tingle.

I don't know why I am having such a hard time, I feel that I am very in tune with my inner forces, and I can will my energy to flow into others.

Do you think that wearing jewelery could be the cause of my failure?
another thing that I feel is inhibiting me, is my inability to relax my face muscles...I keep finding myself tensing my eyes, like I am trying too hard to keep them closed and I find it too distracting when they are open.

Thanks a bunch!
Gina
