I guess I was just wondering why you thought 'attacking out of a reflex action' was natural. That's all! Have a peaceful Christmas and a New Year.
basically, i had studied the bible for many years previous, and the biblical represenation of angels in the old testament is that the higher angels authorized and/or enforced mass genocide against the enemies of the israelites, including men, women, children and cattle.  i'm not sure if the being whom i had encountered had been involved in that genocide campaign or not.

:) blessings to you for christmas and the new year

I don't agree with the notion of 'natural reflexes' as a justification for wanting to attack.
i understand.  i wasn't asking you to agree.  please feel free to react to such experiences as best befits you.

Some people would consider each dream itself a projection.
well, we're not necessarily out-of-body during every dream.

That's the whole point of their 'show'. They want your energy.

You give the bullies your sandwich and they leave you alone.
lolol, okay.  never thought of it that way.

you may want to refrain from projecting for awhile, or this may begin to affect you in the physical.
if it's making you sick, it can be good to take a break and go back to it later.

First off why would you want to attack ANYTHING in the first place!?
natural reflexes.

Really wayyy cool!  :-D

So, how do I always project via Lucid dream? :|
well, it's ideal to learn how to become conscious of it while it's happening.

Dude, hardly anybody reads this part of the forum, lol. Don't expect pages of replies.

My opinion is, though, that this is pretty good so far. Very informative.  :-)
lolol, i'm just trying to put some of my less read posts all into one place so that i can find them easier later.  otherwise, i have to go searching for them.

When you start projecting on purpose you're adding a different level of consciousness to an experience that is naturally unconscious.  The reason that you suffer more energetically when you consciously project is because it takes energy and brainpower to stay 'on' in this process.  So if you project spontaneously you will not have the drain you have when you work up a trance state and stay 'on' when the fun begins.
And if you do this long enough you find that you go to places that you know you've been before, because you retrieve the memories of the past visits when in the right frequency state, showing that there's lots of memories that are lost when the projections are unconscious.
i believe that this makes perfect sense.  i personally don't recall any sense of being de-energized after my own projections, unless i was but didn't make the connection.

Hmm I am going to disagree with you on this one Astral traveler, not to be a devils advocate. I disagree with you in the fact that we often forget our projections. There comes a point for me atleast where each experience is vivid enough to recall most of the details. I think there are ways to increase your dream recall too, such as buying a recorder, etc: which helps you get in the practice of remembering dreams/or OBE's. Some of my earlier experiences at the age of 16 I remember as clear as day. At the same time they were also spontaneous like yours and not planned by any means. Unfortunately they were not genuine experiences, as they were occuring when I was taking Ambien for my sleep problems. I did not have genuine experiences until after the age of 18 and even then it was a regressed versions of the ones i experienced at the age of 16.

I also learned how to willfully trigger them--but it also depends on what kind of day I want to have. Often if I project several times in one morning I will be mentally exhausted most of the day. I can have several OBE's each week, or I will not have any for a month or two. It depends on my schedule and what all is going on in my life.

I agree its important to be conscious of the astral projection. It is also very important to have a goal or intent for your experiences (which we discussed in a previous thread).  Once you get to a level where the first thing you do when OBE is recognize your OBE, then I would say you have exercised a level of consciousness which validates the experience itself.
so how would you know that you don't actually forget many of your projections?

Same I had one where I remember looking at my blinds in my bedroom. I was like, "Wat the hell am I doing here?"
BAM! Slammed back into my body! Felt like someone slapped me across my face  :-o
lolol.

nice I wish I had a spontaneous projection too.
i suggest that pre-disposed conditioning can be set in place.

Sounds like a 'dweller on the threshold' episode, of the teaching variety.
interesting terminology.  the entity was definitely instructional.

Wow!

What a mind blowing perspective.

Thank you so much for posting this. This struck a chord within me to read this, especially that which I have quoted above. Often times I dont practice this and I lash out offensively when I feel I am being attacked. I forget that I may be being tested so I do what seems to come naturally to me. I think everyone has their own demons to deal with and their own faults, and I respectfully thank you for showing me that this is one that I need to resolve. I feel elated in the fact that knowing of this problem I feel a little bit more illuminated than before. Knowing of a problem is the first step of resolving the problem. I cannot thank you enough, please keep up the good work!

Were you sleeping when this happened or intentionally projecting?
neither, come to think of it.  i was fully awake.

QuoteI tried once in a semi-lucid dream to integrate a negative dream character into myself but once we joined or got close I felt piercing sensations all over my body like the character put up his last defense before we joined.
i had no desire or intention of joining with this particular entity that i reference.

QuoteI havn't seen enough entities while purely projecting to have tested this out, though.
okay.

Quote from: MinstruelZ on August 23, 2008, 13:05:22Does anyone have advice for seeking a spiritual advisor/teacher/guide?
they're rare to come by.  attend spiritual groups and you may run into somebody.

QuoteHow do you find a good one?
you'll plow through ten bad ones before finding one good one.  just stay with it.

QuoteDo you have to meet the person face to face or can it be remotely accomplished?
both are possible, but face to face is usually better.

with all of this said, you probably won't find just one guide who fully satisfies you in all areas.  you're probably better off finding ten good guides (while observing a hundred bad ones along the way), each specializing in different areas.  then balance their teachings with each other.

Body Temperature Regulation For Astral Projection

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_obe_discussions/body_temperature_regulation_for_astral_projection-t28740.0.html;msg235062#msg235062

i offer these items from personal experience, but they're not meant to be taken as infallible doctrine by any means:

whatever temperature is the most pleasurable will relax your body the most, whether hot or cold.  during a hot summer, an air conditioner might be preferred if it makes you feel the most pleasurable.  during a cold winter, a heater and/or blanket may be more suitable, if indeed it makes you more pleasurable and therefore more relaxed.

one helpful method that i've used is heating the lower half of my body with an electric blanket, while simultaneously cooling the upper half of my body with an air conditioner.  it seems to do something with the blood flow, generating a lot of inner physical activity during the sleep state.  thus the body becomes rather alert, even though it's asleep.

in the end, do whatever makes you feel the most pleasurable in regards to temperature, insofar as this will relax your heart rate more optimally, so as to induce the deepest possible sleep state.

with all of this said, this still may only be effective after some degree of sleep deprivation and/or fasting.  it's a bit of a trick to get oneself into a lucid trance state, and may take years of regular training to induce anything beyond a projection which lasts only a few seconds.

sensory deprivation (of sight and sound) will put you into a potentially deeper state of trance and/or sleep.  environmental sights and sounds may merely wake you up unless you've been rather sleep-deprived.

ultimately, these suggestions will only apply 90% of the time, and reverse conditions may actually apply in rarer circumstances.  there are multiple complex factors to consider.  the trick is to become mentally alert while physically asleep.

thoughts?  feelings?

my first conscious projections were accidental at the age of 14.  after experiencing them, i later engaged in research how to willfully trigger them through cause and effect methods.

much focus should be placed upon simply becoming conscious of the astral projections which already occur.  we commonly forget our astral projections, much like we forget our dreams.  and there are still other times when we may fail to identify a projection which we had due to lack of familiarity.

you may have been projecting, but weren't necessarily conscious of it.
