Welcome to Astral Chat! / A Definition of Humanity
January 05, 2003, 12:56:23
What is it to be human? What makes you a human being?

Sentience or the ability to experience all the diverse experiences avaliable on this planet? Is it because we experience then analyse those experiences over and over, reliving them and trying different scenarios? Our desire to find a path? Is it emotion, emotional content- empathy and our desire to nuture?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Matraya
January 05, 2003, 05:20:33
Has anyone heard about Matraya? If you don't know Matraya is considered to be the New Age Jesus who is a sort of spirit man popping up in various people at random appearing just about anywhere, but also in a man who lives in  England and is supposed to be going reveal himself one of these  days (which is why I thought the subject relevant for today as it is Epiphany- which means showing).
He is kept secret for the most part to make it mysterious and believers in New Age philosophy are eagerly awaiting him. English Benjamin Creme has traveled around for a number of years  teaching about Matraya. Art Bell interviewed Benjamin Creme on October 11,1998,  coast  to coast. [By the way they even  tie the  crop circles to Matraya's powers]. He is supposed to have ties to  the United Nations which would not surprise me since they are heavily involved  in the New Age agenda. Matraya himself is contacted  by Masters  of  Wisdom (spirits?). Creme, who lectures on  radio  on London's International  Magazine shown in five languages  to  70 countries,  calls himself the roaving Ambassador to complete  the transformation of this world's values today. I myself saw him lecture in London some 7 years ago but have lost touch with the movement since. I was dissapointed with the talk as several very definite predictions where made, none of which came to fruition. Do members of the forum believe in the existence of Matrya? Does anyone have positive or negative experience of Matraya or Benjamin Creme?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Music

Firstly, I don't pretend to know the answer, I can give you my guess though.
The human spirit seeks expression in all things. Since we are in essence creative, our spirit seeks to express itself in a creative manner, art, literature and drama are all measures of the soul, but music...Music is its song, its voice and it speaks many, many languages.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Ireland or England?

You can't talk about Ireland without mentioning the Black Stuff! The only thing worth drinking!

England is nice, Ireland is rugged and wild and Celtic and beautiful. It is harder to be alone in England. Depends what you want really!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / The Future Looks FAT!

Video Games & TV's gotta have an awful lot to do with it. Kids used to just run around all day every day. When I was a lad I would come home from school and run straight out to play until it got dark. These days I would let my children out of the garden without being there and they watch far more TV than I did!

Welcome to Astral Chat! / State of Psychosis

As Amed said, Allah is probably derived from the Hebrew Elohim as a term for God. A lot of Muslims mistake Jesus as a seperate Christian God. As Islam teaches that there is only one God; Allah, Christians are mistaken if they believe that Jesus was a seperate God (son of). However, this is a misconception and is due to the fact that Muslims do not properly understand the concept of the Trinity (three persons in one- or three different ways God comes to us). If there is only one God, then the name you put to that entity is not tremendously relevant.

Hello everyone, I'm new here but I'm looking forward to lots of very interesting discussions!

The cloning issue is very immotive, but, coming from a perspective of love, what can the world offer such a child? Who will be its' Mother and who will be its' Father?

Our children suffer every day, some at the hands of their own parents, if we want to change the world, should we not start here? How can we think ourselves emotionally equipped for such a tremendous task without the natural bonds that come to us through parenthood?

The act seems selfish and irresponsible. There are far more important issues that need attention before we bring more life into this world.
