LOL!  not in the least.  I have much better things to worry about than this stuff...like what I'm making for dinner tonight. :-D

Yes, you just keep your head buried in the sand. Much easier that way.

People spend years making these documentaries whilst risking their lives to get across information to the ignorant public about issues the government are covering up.

And you can't even make the effort to open your eyes and come out of your small safe little bubble of ignorance.

Still think its a conspiracy theory? Did you realise that US Income tax is an illegal tax imposed by the Federal Reserve (a private institution) which the US Govt. pay for them to print paper money.

Eye opening eh?

Its depressing to know that the US Govt. are trying to brainwash society as a whole in the style of George Orwell's 1984.
This is a very eye opening discussion of one couple's direct experiences the CIA and their mind control programme.

Slightly disturbing about the use of harmonic frequencies to programme people's brain's. Robert Monroe used similar technology to induce different states of consciousness, so its all related.

My answer is NO - it is the exact opposite. If I oversleep or take a nap, I increase my chances.

OBEs usually happen to me in the morning anyway (after a night of sleep), after sleep paralysis or not.

Agreed as well for me. If I'm too tired, my brain just shuts off and I lose any power to become lucid or project.

Thank you for your very good responses of which I have learnt a lot from.

I guess its a bit weird knowing about the astral because you then have to decide whether to live your life according to the rules of Earth (ego, materiality) or the higher rules of the "astral" (egoless, non-material).

That is very difficult for me when you live in London in the financial sector. I feel as though I am living 2 separate lives. My day job I only do to keep me alive and help my family financially. I do not view my work as being beneficial to mankind or something I am truly passionate about. My other life is after work, where I become more spiritually focused.

Will I always be living a double life? Should we play the rules of the game we are presented with or should be stay above the rules at the cost of being alienated by people with earthly views?

Hi guys! I'm back after a long stint of getting bogged down in the mundane realities of life on earth.
I am getting a bit confused and hope someone can shed some light on my question.

Assuming as many of us know that we can access the astral planes once skilful enough. And that we chose to be born and live a life on earth to learn and experience what life has to offer...

Then why have we been designed by our creator to be given the ability to leave the physical plane and explore the astral planes and essentially our real "home"?

If we chose to come to Earth, then shouldn't we just focus on life here and work on that? If I were to become obsessed with exploring the astral, then I would be wasting my time here on Earth? After we die, we can travel the astral planes for as long as we want, so why do it now when I'm supposed to be living a life on Earth?

So my question is... is experiencing life supposed to be just about life on earth, or for the enlightened bunch of us who can leave this plane, does life also include life on the astral planes?

Does anyone feel the same? Many of my friends live their lives in ignorance of the astral planes, but sometime I feel like an observer here on Earth and I'm not as motivated to achieve material wealth etc.
Being able to project and knowing that there is much more to life than just on Earth makes my life somewhat more complicated.

Any views please?

You serious about being a psi vampire? I'm interested to know more, could you elaborate please? Can you only absorb other people's energy during sexual acts then and how do you do it? Is it like a mild form of a succubus?

Geez, these clowns don't even have the first idea about OBEs!! Its amazing how ignorant people are and I find their clutching at straws theories utterly bemusing.

My sis definitely has a natural ability to project. I look forwards to hearing more of her experiences! Its great that someone so close to me can also AP. Not surprising though, I taught her how to do it 2 years ago!  :P

Surely the obvious answer is they do.. in the form of ghosts.

My sister once farted so loud she woke herself up. That might make you feel better.

Manuel,

In the past, I have experienced floating up out of my body, these are strong sensations because I can't see anything. When I had floated up high enough, I tried to open my eyes but without any success.

However this was the first time I had actually rolled out of my body and onto the floor. I then felt myself stand up. I then knew I had completely separated from my body. And perhaps this is why my eyes opened at last!

Good luck

I have experienced soothing waves of vibrations and also some excrutiatingly painful vibrations (although not very often). I believe the pain comes from when you have tension in your body where the vibrations concentrate on and become too condensed and cause pain sensations.

Thanks for the comments guys, and I will remember the cold water tip one_each!

I did some follow-up reading and it says that in order to project in real-time instantly to a location, you have to be extremely familiar with it and must have been there many times. Also, to project to a person, you must know them really well and really focus on the essence of that person and you connection with them.

On recall, I didn't spend that much time thinking about Jessica, I kind of spent 2 seconds thinking about it and expected something to happen. I guess its not as easy as I thought! lol. But I WILL do it!!!

Great experience! I plan to do the same thing in the next few weeks. I recently managed to do a controlled OBE. I will have a gander down my street next time. And try to pull my parents out of their bodies so they will actually believe me when I tell them I can AP! lol

I did an OBE in real time zone in my room. The whole experience lasted about 2 minutes. I still feel a slight tingling sensation and I feel light headed.

I could feel my astral body swaying as it had loosened up. I used the roll over technique this time. Pulled one shoulder over and lay on my side then rolled off my bed and onto the floor, then felt myself stand up. The rollover exit was extremely smooth and easy! I don't recall hearing any astral noise, it was a very silent process. I willed myself to open my eyes and I could see in my room, it was 5:30am with not much light visibility. I could see myself sleeping in bed and my room which was dark. This is the first time I have seen myself still sleeping!

This time it wasn't a floating point of consciousness as I have experienced in the past. I could sense my astral form had a normal body. I could perceive height and standing up. (Perhaps when you use the rollout technique, this makes you aware of your astral form? but usually when I have exited in other ways, I am just a floating point).

I asked for light and tried to brighten the place up, but I couldn't make the room lighter. (Perhaps because it was in the real time zone rather than astral planes?).

I have always wanted to see one of my close friends who lives in Canada whom I have a very special soul connection with. I told myself I wanted to see her. But nothing happened. I closed my eyes and thought of her, reopened but was still in my room.

I heard a voice, I believe I was speaking to my own subconscious (this was probably the split mind effect), it said "location?" after I said I wanted to see Jessica. After I closed my eyes to think of Jessica, I felt some movement, but when I reopened I was still in my room. It told me I didn't know the location apart from Canada and that it was not specific enough. I replied thinking "It is possible, the astral realms hold all the information". But it didn't work.

I then looked back at my body and I could see myself kind of tilting at an angle (20 degrees from vertical) almost standing up floating above my bed and shaking like it was in a fit. (I think this is some weird time lag and perspective of seeing my own astral body). This was a freaky sight and slightly disturbing.

I remember kind of touching that astral body above my bed and I felt what could be described as a static shock. I think it might have turned into a dream at this point, I woke up shortly, not much difficulty with memory download, but a lot of the fine detail was lost.

It was a shame it was so dark in the room as this contributed to some disorientation and perhaps fear. If it was brighter, I'm sure I can sustain a longer projection next time. I look forwards to it!

Jimi - I have experienced what you had had numerous times. When you get to that stage where your body is sleeping but your mind is awake. With the correct mind set or exit technique, you can make your astral body leave the physical body. When this happens on exit, you will feel extremely intense sensations just as you described! If you do a post search on some of my experiences, you will see they are almost identical.
It is quite a scary sensation and you have to be brave to keep going forwards with it, it will stop after you fully exit.

Good luck with the next time.

In me recent previous AP experience, I heard many different voices speaking. It wasn't directed at me. It just seemed to be random sentences and thoughts. I believe I must have tuned into that astral frequency where everybody's thoughts get jumbled up in one big confusing mess.

Interesting follow up to this experience...

13/08/05 7am

I made a conscious effort to AP as I fell back asleep this morning. I tried really imagining I was back at that mirror location floating there in the astral realm. Just by recalling and trying to recreate the sensation of what it felt like the first time round. Suddenly I feel sensations of my conscience moving and for 1 second, I was there at the same place again! However I felt I was not able to maintain it because I wasn't sleeping in the correct relaxed state.

I believe this is a new technique I used was similar to phasing. I felt no energetic sensations, vibrations etc. Just a quick whoosh exit and I was there in the astral. I did not even go through a lucid dream.

I afterwards experienced further movements of my astral body swaying etc but no AP.

I had the feeling that mirrors do help with AP in some energy way. And that focusing on mirrors can help induce AP. Will have to try again.

This time it did involve some memory download. Perhaps having APs via lucid dreams are much easier to remember?

Have False awakenings means that your 3rd eye is active and the experience was very likely to be lucid dream or AP related.

False awakenings is a good sign that your mind is opening up to the concepts of AP etc.

Leave your email or PM it to me and I'll endeavour to send it over. Its about 3MB though!! So make sure you have enough space in your account!

I would lend you a hand but that would probably make things worse!

6:35am

Finally converted a lucid dream into a projection by passing through a mirror.

I am experiencing slightly cold sensations as I write this. My brain is hurting as if it is dehydrated, similar to a hang over feeling. I also had this feeling before the experience so it may be a precursor to these experiences. I had this sensation the last time I successfully projected too. Having this dehydrated brain feeling is becoming strongly associated with successful astral experiences. I can remember the experience clearly without the need to lie in my bed downloading the information and working backwards from end to start.

I was living a year of life back in university in Bath, it was freshers day. I was strongly semi lucid and knew I had the power to relive that same day and continue to live the same year if I wanted to all over again, just like in the film Groundhog day. I dreamed out the whole day again and did different things like act very confidently even in a cocky manner because I knew exactly what would happen and when. I leave out the details of this lucid dream but it seemed to last for hours, I relived almost 2 days of a lucid dreamworld, it was incredible! It is the longest lucid dream I have ever had and a good example of how time is distorted and lengthened in the lucid world. At the time, I kind of realized it was a lucid dream but I also thought it was real and that I had the power to time travel. I knew I could wake up at anytime but the dream just carried on and on to my surprise!

Then I became 100% lucid while I was looking at myself in a mirror in my own room. It kept steaming up and becoming unclear, I kept rubbing the mirror to clean it. I could see my face in extreme detail, most of the time it looked exactly like me, I found I could change my features very subtlety, I was trying to make myself very handsome and it was working. My features became more defined and beautified, it was amazing considering all this is the result of my own mind power. When I looked closely, my ear was distorted and even hurt a bit. My face began distorting into a ugly face and the mirror still kept steaming up. I had to keep focusing to see myself clearly. I did this for almost a whole minute.

Then I remembered the things I have learnt about reflective surfaces being portals to the astral world. So I kept focusing on moving into it and then suddenly I switched into out of body mode instantly and I was floating up near the top of a different room looking at a different much larger mirror but like still within a 100% lucid environment (It could also have been an astral realm I am not sure). I floated there for about 30 seconds trying to take everything in. I just hung there, usually in lucid dreams, the concept of gravity makes me fall down slowly and takes mental effort to stay airborne. Everything was SOOO vivid. I could not see my body, I was like a floating point. But it wasn't real time as such, the room and surroundings were kind of old style, I cannot recall any specifics but there were other items in the room. There was lots of random astral noise, like I was picking up different radio signals, very clear voices talking about random stuff. I heard a name, something gaynor, but too random stuff to remember anything.

I decided to take the plunge and went into the mirror, it took me a few attempts as I had to float into the mirror and I kind of crossed through the barrier a few times, experiencing a strong dimensional change as I passed my head through, very strange sensations in my head. Then I was through completely. I was floating as though in real time zone in my sister's room. I could hear my parents coming back home from something and making noise downstairs, I really wanted to float out of the room into the hallway to see them and verify things. I was floating a bit aimlessly but kind of managed to control myself by waving my hand forwards as if I was swimming underwater (this was probably a mental technique with the arm), as I edged myself towards the door, I knew I had to pass through it, I wasn't scared so I tried it, but as I tried passing through the door, I lost the projection. This projection lasted about 20 seconds. On waking, I realized that it wasn't "real time" as my parents were sleeping in bed. It was as though I had travelled back in time to last night when they came back home

There was no false awakenings and no memory download, this must be due to the different mechanics as most of it was a lucid conversion. This is a breakthrough for me and I am becoming more accustomed to the floating point perspective which I now relate to projections as opposed to lucid dreams.

Damn that scared the excrement out of me as my volume was on really loud!!! LOL!

Great experience, I havet yet to try frank's phasing method but it sounds like it works from many people! I also have the same problem many times I have projected but I can't see anything and I feel like I am just floating through darkness. I have tried saying "light" and all that but no luck. Maybe I just need more practise.

I am trying to understand how phasing ties in with AP. When you phase and see those sceneries does it mean you have projected yet?
