I had another experience this morning - I actually set my alarm for 5am to try to induce an lucid dream/oobe.

I felt the vibrational state quickly, got really excited but told myself to stay calm and relax.  Funnily enough my body actually listened to me and really relaxed.  I didn't try to move at all (usually I try to lift myself out) then I just felt myself float out of my body - I didn't have to do anything, just relax.

I couldn't see anything so I used ash's idea of concentrating on my hand. I brought it up to my face and looked at it - It seemed blurry at first but then I could see it - my hand waved infront of my face it seemed to be very bright.  Anyway then I had a bit of a nervous track and my mind thought about what if I thought of something I shouldn't.  I'm not 100% sure if I did or someone else did but immediately my finger moved and I felt the old fairground/vacuum ride back into my body (I'm really starting to enjoy that feeling now!).

The only thing is I was still aware and I didn't wake up.  Then it felt like I was watching what was going on and someone else was doing the driving we were going somewhere a long way away.  I was saying to myself "Stay Aware!".  I seemed to be going across the universe, I was looking backwards, what seemed like stars where flying past.  I could feel something funny every now & again, I realised I could actually feel stars passing through my body!  I ended up in an old room somewhere with 2 or 3 people in it who started to talk to me - but unfortunately I lost awareness and it became a dream after that.

Thought you might be interested...

Although I haven't managed to OOB when I want to, I've noticed that I'm a lot more aware in my dreams since I started using the Monroe Wave 1 CDs.  I've had the same experience a few times now, where I'm dreaming something and suddenly realise that I'm dreaming.

The first time it happened I dreampt I was at my local train station and there was a band playing on the other side of the tracks.  This must've caught the attention of my concious as I suddenly thought; "Hang on there isn't a band at the train station - I'm dreaming!"  Immediately the scene dissolved into darkness - I was pretty damn excited and tried to 'fly' in an upward direction.  Unfortunately all that happened was I could feel myself gradually lowering to what I assume was my body.  I then felt what I can only describe as the fair-ground ride yank back into my body and woke up.

I had a similar experience last night where something made me think hang on I'm dreaming.  The scene dissolved into darkness again.  This time I tried the "CLARITY NOW" idea that someone else had posted so I could see.  I dont think this worked so I tried to will myself to fly again, although I definately thought about what had happened last time (probably half the problem).  So I felt myself gradually falling to the floor again.  Then the high-speed yank back into my body.

Does anybody have any good exercises for controlling stray thoughts or explanations on getting your desired intent across?

Oh and anybody else had similar experiences? ;)

Great forum!

Thanks for all the replies!

Trying to concentrate on your hand sounds like an excellent idea for keeping myself grounded & giving my thoughts a task to do - I'll give it a go next time.

Thanks for the reply Kenneth.  I think you are definately right for the first time at least I was way too excited to do much!!

Last nights one I was definitely less emotional (at least I think its hard to remember clearly), just more inquisitive.  I think I may have sabotaged my own intent by thinking about what went wrong the last time though.  I'll concentrate on seeing whats around me next time - gotta remember to learn to walk before I run - or should that be sight b4 flight [:D]
