Keep trying, you are almost there.

Things that you see during the day can often manifest in to the astral in the same way as they can in your dreams.

Are there scary things in the astral? Yes, but I am yet to come in to contact with anything that has been able to do me harm, you just tend to ignore them and they go away, there's far more interesting things to do than be caught up with them. Any fears have to be conquered as early as possible as they will only hold you back.

Astral projection can happen at any time. Some people find it easier during the day as they are not as tired.

You don't always know when you leave the physical, often nearly everything looks exactly the same as in the physical, at an early age before I knew what was going on I would walk around my house at night and then get snapped back into my physical body, which didn't make any sense to me at the time. However when you leave your physical body you don't have the restrictions of your physical body and everything can seem more real, it's hard to explain but you feel as if you have extra senses or you are slightly more sensitive to things. I think you'll know when you leave your body for the first time if you do it cleanly enough and if so you will then know that this is without a doubt real.

Next time you get full body vibrations, try to intensify them. After a while if you feel as if your body is floating or has split, try rolling out of bed, even if you are not quite sure. Sometimes I'm not quite sure myself but I'm yet to roll my physical body out of bed  :-D

One thing to be aware of is that there is a kind of magnetism between your physical body and your astral body, you will feel as if you are getting pulled back. Try and get away from your physical body as soon as you can.

Good luck

During the 70s and 80s America had covert 'PSI Spies' that would using remote viewing and if they could astral projection to spy on and provide intel on the Soviet Union (Look up code names Grill Flame and Star Gate). By the end of it they pretty much had it down to a fine art, but even after years of strict training could never 100% guarantee what they were seeing was accurate for various reasons. Sometimes they were way off, but a lot of the time they when they had ways to confirm what they had saw they were spot on.

When the remote viewing project was disbanded and made public, some of them split off to form a company called Psi Tech. Psi Tech was formed around the idea of trying to solve these mysteries and have spent the last 15 years doing so. PSI Tech has opened it's files to the public and now someone is writing a book on them called "PSI TECH Mysteries - the REAL X-files".

Hopefully this answers your question.

I have been able to AP from a very early age but I've never really mastered it once I'm OOB. I find the initial AP process quite easy, but find staying out quite hard. I had a break from AP but I've been drawn back by it and a couple of weeks ago decided to start reading 'Mastering Astral Projection: 90 Day Guide to Out of Body Experience' to see if energy and silencing mind chatter exercises really work and see if I can take it to the next level.

Last night I was doing some extra energy work just before I was going to go to sleep and then later on I could feel that my bodies were separating, so I brought on the vibrations to help the separation and then rolled out of my body. When I was on my bedroom floor I looked up and it was dark, but I could see some people in the room. I got up and switched on bedroom light (The switch was in a different place to usual, but I didn't realise at the time). After a couple of goes the light came on and there must have been 15-20 people in my room, some sat on my bed, some stood around it. I can remember thinking is there a party going on here or something. I could see my body lying in bed, but the weird thing is that there was another copy of me sat on the side of the bed next to my body (I have never see this before and it kinda rocked me a bit because I'm not sure why another body would be there).

Anyway, usually when I get OOB I head for my bedroom window and jump out of it as soon as possible to get away from my physical body trying to pull me back in. I looked around the room for deceased relatives, but couldn't see any so I decided to head for the window. Just as I was about to jump out of the window someone grabbed my arm quite hard. I looked around and a woman said to me "Why did you leave me?" as if I had been with her a long time or I was married to her at some point, but i can't remember seeing her before. I replied "Because I was never really yours" referring to the possibility that I might have known her in a past life or something. I looked out of the window and there seemed to be quite a few people outside as well. I went to jump through the window but couldn't for some reason and then I got drawn back to my body. I woke up and my left arm was still aching.

Do any of you know why there would be so many people in my room? In all the years I have been doing this, it's rare to have anyone there and if there is it's normally just 2 or 3 people. I don't usually take much notice of them.

Does anyone know why I would have saw 2 of me, one lying in bed and one sat on the edge of the bed?

I've spoken to negatives before that want to talk to me and trick me and sometimes grab me, but usually I just tell them to leave me alone and don't have much time for them, but this woman really did seem to know me and it seemed different. Has anyone had a similar experience?

The first time that I projected or at least that I can remember, I must have only been about 5 or 6 years old. I would wake up to a very high pitched almost deafening noise and I would be floating near the ceiling, I used to panic and then used to snap back into my physical body. I also used to think that it was a nightmare, but it kept happening. The other wierd thing is that I used to know before I went to sleep when it was going to happen. On the nights that it was going to happen, I used to (not intentionally) go into some kind of mind state where everything in the room felt relaxing and... perfect, it's really hard to explain. It wasnt connected with anyone dying in my family, I just started happening along with a load of other wierd things.

The majority of the time, I get out of my body by just sitting up, but you can be helped out and taken to places by a spirit guide (most of the time you can't even see them) and this is probably what is happening to you. A lot of people have said that they get sucked through a tunnel like you say, but that has never happened to me so i can't really comment.

When I was at college I got into the bad habit of sleeping during the day or trying to AP sometimes if I didnt have a lecture and basically found it hard sleep at night. It turned into a bit of a viscoius circle coz I would turn up to lectures feeling really tired and as soon as I got back home I would go to sleep. What I found eventually is that I could put my body through the sleep process in a very similar way to a technique that I use to AP. I would relax my body, but instead of staying aware, I would start to see things when I had my eyes closed. At first they would be hard to make out, but I would try and make out what they where. After a short period of time, they would start to get sharper and sharper to the point at which it was almost as if I had my eyes open. I used to just let it happen and watch what was going on. The final phase was that I could hear what was going on, I would let my conscious slip and then I would fall asleep.

I think it for me at least it might just be subconscious projection, but it felt very wierd how I was fully conscious for the majority of it and seeing these things as vivid as they were. I can still get to that point very quickly by just by relaxing, closing my eyes and watching what appears.

fableflame,

I think your a bit confused. When you project in to the astral plane into a real time projection, nearly everything looks and acts like the physical plane by default. The people that I saw were either from the astral plane, other people who were projecting or possibly people who were a sleep. I very much doubt that any of them were physical people at that time of night. They could see me because they could see my astral body and I could see them because I was seeing their astral bodies. Like I say, nearly everything in the astral plane can be like it is in the physical, so you can do things like make snowballs and throw them. What you do in the astral plane doesn't happen in the physical though e.g. if someone was walking past, they wouldn't be able to see a snowball magically make itself and then fly through the air lol (It would be a lot of fun if they could though). You can do a lot of other things in the astral plane that you can't do in the physical, like fly or pass through walls or windows etc. just by thinking about it when you do it.

This next bit might confuse you but i'll try to explain it as simple as possible. You basically have two bodies, a physical body and an astral body (soul if you like). During the day when you are awake, your physical body and astral body are held tight together (I like to think about it as kind of like an elastic effect). When you relax your body e.g. your body goes to sleep, this elastic type effect also relaxes and your physical and astral body can move apart (or split).

If you are in a situation... say during the day and you project in to real time and lets say that you go an visit someone who is awake, you can actually see pretty much what they are doing in the physical as their astral body is tightly connected to their physical during this time. You can sometimes even speak to them, but you are speaking to their astral body and not their physical body and therefore they don't know that it is happening.

As far as i'm aware, you can't interact with people in the physical plane when you are in the astral plane, only their astral bodies. Most of what I have learnt is from projecting and learning things when i'm conciously there. As I wrote earlier on in this post, i've started reading my first book on astral projection for inspiration so that I can progress (Robert Monroe's Journeys out of the body), in this book he says that he projected in to real time an went to visit a friend. He visited her during the day and was even speaking to her in the astral plane. He nipped her in the astral plane and saw her jump back. When he spoke to her in the physical, he could explain to her everything that was happening and she confirmed what he was saying was true, but she could not remember him speaking to her, she did however have a bruise where he had nipped her and she felt it when he nipped her!!!

So if you can't communicate or interact with people in the physical plane how could this happen? (If it really happened at all)

The following is my theory so take it with a pinch of salt, it could or probably is wrong but still it is the only explanation I can think of for this type of thing. Your astral body can talk to your physical body and this is how people who are psychic etc. get their information, the astral body is relaying things back to the brain or the astral body is talking to another astral entity and then relaying it back to the brain. It might be possible that if the astral body is pinched, that it relays this information back to the physical brain and the brain reacts as if the physical body has been pinch e.g. the feeling of pain and the bruising.

Like I say, that is my theory so take it with a pinch of salt.

By intention. When I was lying down I just used to think over and over again that I wanted to see what was going to happen in a few hours time (that night when i was out). To be honest, they were probably more lucid dreams than projections, as i ended up in that place straight away (none of the getting out of the body stuff that i have to do a lot of the time). I was fully aware that i wasn't in the physical, but just let things happen around me. I had a good run of doing this and seemed to get in to a routine.

I know that this should probably be in the other section, but i'm gonna let you know the full experience so that it may help anyone who is new or has not been able to project yet and give them another experience to read (They seem to be thin on the ground). Hopefully i'll get some help on my question as well.

Last night I was having a nightmare and woke up in the middle of the night. When I woke up, i had a bad stomach (which always seems to happen before or after I have a nightmare). When I woke up, I tried for ages to go to sleep, but could not, so I watched TV for about an hour. After I watched TV, i managed to get straight back to sleep. I woke up later but didn't know whether I was in the physical or the astral. To find out, I tried to make my body vibrate and it did meaning that I was in the astral, I kept this up for about 20 seconds (it normally makes the split easier for me) and then sat up. I could feel the elastic type feeling that i usually get trying to pull my astral body back into my physical, but i dragged myself out and ended up flat on my face on my bedroom floor . I jumped out of my bedroom window and floated to the ground outside, a gang of kids 15/16 years old were walking past and one of them saw me and said something, they looked as if they could be negative and I didn't want to be stuck talking to people, so I just said hi and continued on up the road. I noticed that there was a little bit of snow in the middle of the road (not much, but enough to make snowballs), I looked up the street and a girl was at the top of the street making a snowball, so i made one myself. I decided to fly up the rest of the street and when I was past her, I playfully threw the snowball, she smiled and then threw hers back at me. I continued around the corner and came to the crossroads in the street.

At the crossroads I started to think "Where do I want to go?", in the end i decided that I was going to visit someone. This is where I have my problem, rather than just wander the streets, I wanted to be in a different place. In the past i have tried to think of the place that I want to be but I have never been (not that I can remember) successfull, sometimes I just end up back in my body. To get some inspiration, i've started to read Robert Monroe's Journeys out of the body (The first book on AP that I have ever read, even though i've been able to do this for quite a while), in his book he says that rather than thinking of the place, you have to think of the the person that you want to visit. I started to think of the person that I wanted to visit and before I knew it I was in a different place. Rather than being in the same place as the person that i wanted to visit, i funnly enough ended up at another crossroads, but these crossroads were in a dark alley, it took me a few seconds but I recognised where I was at, I was quite near my old house. A women was walking along the alley towards me and again I just said hi and continued on my way. I was quite near a relatives house and decided to go and visit them the old fashioned way (quite a few wierd things have happened in that house, so it would have been interesting), but before I knew it, I was back in my physical body. As with most of my APs, the whole thing only seemed to last a few minutes.

Does anyone have any tips or methods that work for them?

I have actually done this before by wanting to see a person (not place). A few years ago I wanted to go and see a couple of relatives that had not long passed. After about 3 weeks of trying to go and see them without success, I eventually asked my guide to take me to them and it worked. I've heard of a lot of people saying that they can do this themselves without help and it is probably quite simple once you've done it a few times. Guides are great if you need help doing things, i've even had to ask for help getting out of my body on more than one occasion, but I'd rather be able to do things on my own.

By the way, when I looked out of my bedroom windows this morning it had been snowing a bit. Most of it had melted (not that there was much in the first place) but you could still see bits.

To me the whole thing seems to be snowballing because of your fear. The only way to get rid of fear is to face it head on. The more you are scared, the more you will attract negative entities. But to be honest there is nothing to fear. I've come across negative entities that have attacked me but none of then have actually been able to harm me, but then again i'm not really scared of them and just see them as a waste of time and tend just to ignore them.

For being able to project for 3 years, you still seem to be acting a lot like you would in the physical world. Why are you walking about? when it easier and takes less energy to float or fly. You don't necessarily have to open doors or windows either because you can pass through them. i've found that the more physical activities you do, the more energy you use and the quicker you go back to your body.

Next time you project go over to a window and try to put you hand through it. Your hand might hit a solid window as windows etc. in the astral by default seems to be solid if they are in the physical world, but if you think that you can put your hand through it, the window will... I don't no how to explain this, but it kinda liquidises, it feels as if you are putting your arm through water, if you take your mind of it though, the window will go solid again around your arm, but don't panic, it's not gonna hurt you and all you need to think of is passing you hand through it again for it to liquidise. You can walk through doors and even walls doing the same thing, though I personally don't like doing it as I don't like the feeling (you actually feel the wood of the wall passing through you), again, it doesnt hurt in anyway but it does feel a bit wierd. I'd advise trying it at least once though. For walls, I tend to just open a hole up in the wall with my hand by just thinking about it (I think it's more of the thought than the hand movements, but it seems to work for me). You can also just think of being in another place and then be there, but I have yet to completely master this and find it more difficult.

I've saw quite a few wierd things in my house as well. I spend very little time in the house when I project, especially when it is dark, not because i'm scared, but more because it's hard to see anything and it's pretty boring when there is so much else out there  :-). Once you've mastered passing through things, try doing what I do on a night and rather than walking about in your house, just jump straight through your bedroom window. You won't fall, you tend just to float to the ground, unless you want to fly of course. The street lights are on at night, so it's not really that dark.

I hope this is of use to you and helps you. Let us know how you get on.

Difficult to say. What you will be seeing in the astral plane is the potential future. The future keeps changing right until it happens in the physical world. Often though major events stay the same and only little things change. I can remember quite a few years ago that a few hours before I went out on a weekend, that I would lie down and project a few hours into the future to see what would happen that night. Quite often I would be successful and that night events would happen almost exactly as I had seen them. Little things would change though e.g. what people were wearing. I can remember once saying to one of my friends that I thought he would be wearing _____ ______ tonight and he told me that he was going to wear that but changed his mind at the last minute. It was interesting stuff. Just before something happened, I would get like a de ja vu feeling and then remember what was going to happen. I can remember that people were shocked when I could tell them what was going to happen in about 30 seconds time, but I never told them how I knew.  :-D

I agree with Nickspry, you need to work on a technique for a few weeks before deciding whether it is right for you. I think that you have been very lucky for it to work first time. I hear of people who try for months or even years and can not do this using various techniques. At first the chances are that new technique will not work for you some of the time and that you will fall asleep but dont be disheartened, the more that you work on it, the better you will become at it.

Work on the technique that you are using for a few weeks and if it is not working for you and you have put the effort in to trying to make it work, then move on to another technique. If you can get it to work well for you with practice then good, but I would still advise you to experiment with other techinques. Work at each technique for a few weeks each and you will soon find out which techniques are best for you or which parts of techniques are best for you.

To answer your last question, I don't think there is a limit on the amount of time that you can project in a day. I used to have a problem where I would keeping thinking about my physical body while I was in the astral plane, which of course would snap me back in to it. As soon as I was back in my physical body, I would split from it again and go back to the astral plane. Sometimes this would happen about 6 or 7 times a night.

barkington,

Your first problem is that you mind can not focus enough, this is natural if your mind is untrained. Your second problem is that you have a fear of the unknown, again perfectly natural. Your third problem i think is linked to the first.

OK, for your second problem, honestly there is nothing to be affraid of. I imagine that most people are more at danger in the physical world than in the Astral plane.

For your first problem you need to do some mind exercises to stop your mind from wandering as much. For 15 minutes everyday do the following and it will help you. Choose an object (start of with something basic at first). For 5 minutes, look at it, touch it, feel and imaging the texture, the colour, all of the line etc. and then after you have done this, close you eyes and try to recreate it in your mind (try to redraw it). At first this is going to be very difficult, you mind will try to wander to other things and you will forget what the object looks like. If your mind wanders, bring it back straight away. If you forget what the object looks like, open your eyes for a few second and look at it again then continue on.

Like I say, it will be difficult at first but it will gradually will become easier. The more your practice, the easier it will become and the easier it becomes, the more focused you mind is becoming. Another thing that you can do is to gradually use more advanced objects e.g. more textures etc.

If you can do this exercise then it should benefit you greatly, not only when trying to project, but also when you are in the astral plane. Being able to focus your mind with as little distraction as possible is the key.

I tried listening to that sort of thing once just out of curiosity and it didnt work for me either. As others have said, it sounds as if you mind is too active. If your mind is too active, it's not gonna happen. If your body is relaxed and your mind is not active enough, you are going to fall asleep. The key is that you have to get the right balance. It can be hard at first but it does get easier. Good luck.

I agree with Stookie and Novice. What you are experiencing is the early to mid stages of AP. I don't know about other people, but my breathing does not normally concern me when I AP. Different methods work for different people. If you think too much about your physical body though it may hold you back. When you are in your astral body, the second you start think about you physical body you will snap back into it. Sometimes in the early to mid stages of projecting my senses become hightened like you are explaining, so i think your definately on the right track. Something that also happens to me when i'm am in this state is that i can feel things around me as well as hear them e.g. if someone slams a door it sets off like a shockwave that passes through my body. Ithink your well on your way though.
#16
Yeah, if and when you finally manage to project have a look in the mirror. Often people look slightly different than what they physically do. I can remember looking into the mirror and noticing that even though I looked like the same person, my astral body looked quite a bit younger than my physical body.
#17
Your basucally there. Sounds like you are in your astral body quite a bit when you are in that state. Try sitting up and walking away from you bed, if you are in your astral body, the chances are you will find this difficult and feel as if you are being pulled back to your physical body, but if you keep trying you will get there.
#18
You shouldnt really attack things or get drawn into that sort of thing. Attacking entities in the astral plane is negative and will attract negative/dark entities to you. In the astral plane you basically have black/negative/evil entities and white/positive/good entities. White light represents good entities and what you saw cound have been a good entity. Negative entities however often try and trick you into believing that they are good, so you always have to be careful.
#19
I'm not sure if you had an obe, it sounds more like a lucid dream to me. When you have an obe, as far as i'm aware, you can not change the shape of entities (they can however change themselves). When you have a lucid dream, you are somewhat in control of that dream and you can do things like that. Sounds to me like you have a bit of a fear about what will happen or what you will meet/see if you have an obe, but really there is nothing to be scared of.
#20
Yeah I agree. Becoming good at astral projection is all about you state of mind. I believe that you have to train your mind. When you are awake, you concious mind is in control and your sub conscious is in the background chattering away. To train your mind you need to stop your subconcious mind from chattering and day dreaming as much as possible, allowing your concious mind to be in control as much as possible. When you go to sleep, most of your physical body shuts down, your subconcious mind takes over from your concious mind and subconsious projection starts (your subconcious mind creates everything or nearly everthing that you see in your dreams) and your concious takes a back seat. I suppose in a way, it's a bit like watching a movie, your concious mind reacts to things that it is seeing but it can not control them. When you astral project, your physical body goes to sleep but your concious mind is still in control and therefore when you are in your astral body, you are seeing what is in the astral plane and not what you subconcious is projecting. Hope that all makes sense.
#21
Well done sounds like a real time projection to me or near enough. I can remember the first time that I did the same thing. It's a great feeling when you get back into your physical body and then got to the places that you have just been and everything or near enough in the physical world is just as you have just saw it in the astral plane. It really put everything beyond doubt for me. Just a word of advise though, you will not always project into real time. In the astral plane, there is no such thing as time, time appears to be a constraint of the physical world. In the astral plane you can do real time projection, project to some point in the past and also to the potential future as it currently is in the astral plane (the future can and does change before it happens in the physical world). It can be very hard at first to control where/when you will project to.
#22
Yeah, definately the early stages of Astral Projection. If you have been able to get to that stage a few times then you are doing well. You are definately in the right mind set. The next thing to try and do is to sit up and get out of bed. It will probably be difficult for you at first because it will feel as if you are being pulled back, it is sort of like a magnetic feeling, but if you keep trying, then i'm sure you'll get there. Let us know how you get on.
#23
Sounds to me like it just you fear of the unknown. If you are scared of things in the astral plane then this will happen. Really though, there is nothing to be scared of. Yes there are dark entities but the majority of the time they can do no harm, just ignore them. If you are scared or have the atitude of going round fighting them, then you will attract them. I personally just have the mindset that I have no time for them and that I have better things to do. If you think in this way, they will soon leave you alone. Really, there is nothing to fear.
