Ok, I've never practiced any sort of meditation, don't really know where my chakras are, and my idea of magic is pretty close to what goes on in Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
But ever since Art Bell's wednesday night show, I've had two vibration experiences. I have to admit that the first one, which occured on Thursday afternoon, was self induced. I was so intrigued by Robert's stories that I thought I'd give it a shot.
Now, again, I must stress the fact that I know absolutely nothing about meditation. I had a friend that unsuccesfully dabbled in this stuff, and I remember him telling me that to have an OBE, you must imagine your body sinking through the floor. Well it never worked for him, but I figured what the hell.
So I lay there in my bed with my arms at my side and just sort of focused on my body sinking. I also knew enough to focus on a blank field, to sort of empty the mind. Actually, I don't really know if that's correct, but there's your basic image of me doing a half-assed attempt at meditation.
In any case, after 15 minutes I felt a tingling in my toes, so I sort of focused on that. The sensation was working its way up my body, I think with my guidance. As it reached my head, the vibrations got much more intense and my heart started pounding in my chest. I'm not sure how to do this, so I thought ok, vibrations, It's time to fly. I focused on pulling myself up out of my body, but it wasnt working. The vibrations were getting out of hand, and I couldnt breathe very well, so I made myslef sit up, ending the experience abruptly.
Incidentally, my heart really was pounding in my chest when I broke out of it. I'm thinking it's from the excitment of the ordeal.
More interesting to me is what just happened about an hour ago today (Friday). I was napping a bit and was awoken by the vibrations. This time I actually heard a sound like the rush of air near my ears. Also, the paralysis was much stronger; I found it very difficult to break free. I tried lifting an arm and it wouldnt move. So, I tried moving a leg. After a few seconds, the leg seemed to come free and I could feel it rising. I was watching my legs, anticipating some kind of movement in my right leg. There was none. I was raising the leg very high now, but I couldnt see it, though I could certainly feel it, and it seemed to be almost sticking straight up.
This was so strange. I was able to suddenly break out of this, with some effort, and I realised that the right leg, which I had been trying to move, was actually underneath my other leg. Was it my "energy" leg that I was lifting? That feels so ludicrous to write that. I'll be honest, this whole thing feels really silly to me now, but I can't deny what I've experienced and have to admit that during the second experience I was very scared. I felt trapped, completely out of control.
So anyway, I suppose my questions are: What's going on and How do I get a handle on this?
Thanks you.
