Ok so when im attempting to AP i usually lay down and focus deep on the blackness that i see around me and after 10mins of doing that i get this spinning feeling, its not my whole body spinning just my head. Also while feeling this spinning sensation the blackness starts twirling or spinning also and different colors start to form, i'll then feel myself getting excited with my heart pumping fast. This lasts for like 3-4 minutes then it all stops and im back just laying there![]()
What do you all think ?

Hi everyone. How are you? I am fine. I want to stress that I haven't had one astral projection and I haven't looked down at my physical body yet. I am reading books or e-books about astral projection. I have been doing the mental exercise for about 1 week. That exercise is visualizing on a single image for a period of time, without allowing another thought to enter your mind. For example: I can visualize on one mental image of the celebrity I admire for 8 secs. My goal is to able to visualize on a single image for 3-5 minutes. I am adding one second to my exercise every day! You may ask, "Why do you do mental exercise?" Well, the answer is to boost my astral projection or even an insight. Today, I had a nap and saw random images of people I haven't seen before in my life while I was falling asleep. I have that same experience many times in the past after the meditation or reading books about astral projection. What do those images of people mean? Are they hypnagogic images? or what???

Okay, I'm not that kid that tries astral projection for five days and gets all upset when it doesn't work immediately. I have been trying astral projection for over one year now and I have little to no luck. The closest I can come is a very, very, rare lucid dream (which i also have trouble doing). It bothers me that some people do not put forth any effort and they can master either or both of these two abilities just by simply going to sleep, when I have been taking the necessary steps for about 13 months now. I have tried keeping a dream log and just about every technique in the book. I even tried the one where you try for about a month than after that just sort of "forget" and let your subconscious work it out but not even that has worked for me. My most recent attempt was yesterday it was 4am and i laid on my back completely still and did not move for about two whole hours. 6am rolls around and not only have I not successfully projected I haven't even fallen asleep. Can anyone please help, maybe tell me what I might be doing wrong. All answers and input is welcome and appreciated please and thank you.
p.s. could it have anything to do with me being an indigo child, if anything I believe that should make it easier?

Sounds like you are getting deep into your Hypnagogia, which can get confusing and complex.
It could be a communication. What do you think after some reflection?

Fear test...
Just push on through.
As we've said, you have to want this so badly that you're willing to take whatever happens to you in order to achieve it.
Now... obviously... you're completely safe and nothing bad will happen, but that's the mindset you need.
You push on through whatever is uncomfortable. This is a fear test for you.

Pay more attention, and you'll realize that your whole body is actually swaying.

Do all drugs hinder your ability to focus/raise energy/project? I've experimented with alcohol and have found that I can barely focus for a few minutes when trying to meditate, and through a lack of a focus, energy work is practically impossible. I've also read here on the pulse that even If I did have any focus, alcohol severely drains your energy anyway.
But I was wondering if tobacco does the same thing. I don't smoke, and I'm not looking for anyone to advise trying any crazy drugs to induce an OBE, but has anyone found that chewing tobacco hinders your ability to project? When I chew before I go to sleep I can raise energy, focus, and get into trances but I'm starting to wonder if my chewing tobacco addiction is what's holding me back.
For the past month or so I've been trying Xanth's method of not using a technique to get out but just enjoy the trance and let myself slip. Maybe tobacco is not letting me relax enough to "slip out"?

So I attempted to project around 1pm today. I used some binural beats to help me along but after about 45 minute, it didn't seem to be doing much so I took them out and just laid on my side. Almost immediately I started to feel the signs of an OBE and next thing I know, I am wiggling out of my body. I felt a lot more in control of this experience than I usually am. Most of the time I can't even float or move through object, but I was able to this time.
At some point I decide to ask to see my spirit guide which is something I have never really done before. Nothing happens until I turn around and see a large black jungle cat which I believe was a panther. I freaked out for a second because it was right in my face but then I slowly relaxed when I realized all it was doing was looking at me innocently. At this point I must have slipped into a dream and eventually woke up.
Could this panther (or whatever kind of large cat it was) be my spirit guide? Aside from the initial shock, I did not felt threatened at all.

Well, keep in mind that being able to induce any feeling is just that... you being able to induce THAT feeling.
It's like in the martial arts, say Karate for example... they teach you to punch THROUGH your target. You pick a point PAST your target and you aim for that.
You don't aim for your target, because that's a much weaker strike... by the time you're hitting the target, your punch is pretty much stopped.
What you're doing is that you're focusing so hard on these "symptoms" is that your aiming for the target (symptoms)... and when you finally hit that target (symptoms) and you're stopping. Aim beyond the symptoms.
It's okay, and even good to have those symptoms/sensations... but they're mostly just a signpost that reads "Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it right".
Just keep doing whatever it was that got you there. Continue focusing away from the physical. Don't stop to read the signpost.

Hey all! I recently sent a letter to someone about an experience I had the other day, but I wanted to get some more opinions. I'll post what I sent here.
Just a few minutes ago I did my second Astral Projection attempt of the day. I lied down on my bed as I normally do in a comfortable position. After doing that, I repeated my mantra to myself "I am astral projecting. I am completely safe..etc etc". I've been reciting that mantra in my head, and verbally for the past few days. Next, I plugged in my headphones and began listening to a theta wave binaural beat that someone recommended from Youtube. I haven't experimented much with these, but I've heard that they may help (And I think it did).
After I got settled in, I did my regular meditation technique, and became very relaxed. Shortly after falling into a trance state, my body began to vibrate. Normally I get very strong vibrations in my arms and legs. My first concern is that I never really experience any vibrations above my neck. Is that a problem? Anyway, it seems that each time I enter a trance state I see a different visual each time. Today's visual was very interesting. The background was just a single color, starting off deep blue, and it would shift to pink, red, etc almost like a lava lamp but only one color at a time. On top of the background colors, was a very strange sight. I saw what looked like a completely black, very large, house centipede with hundreds of legs. The centipede kept walking in a spiral into what seemed infinity, neverending. I'm very afraid of house centipedes (I'm a wimp I know ) but I told myself not to let it bother me. Soon after, these images kept on going but I noticed that a single eye would appear occasionally in the center of my view. The eye looked quite angry, and it scared me briefly but I kept going.
Oh! I forgot to mention. Before any of the following in the last paragraph occurred, I felt a falling sensation and for the first time I managed to keep my eyes closed. Horray!
Anyway, now for the WEIRD part. I still cannot tell if I was actually partially out of body, but the following happened: I could tell that "just relaxing" wasn't exactly getting me anywhere. So, I tried lifting my "Astral arms". To my surprise, I felt my arms move up and they vibrated more intensely than I have ever felt before. And I can't be sure, but I believe in the back of my mind I also could still feel my physical arms lying on the bed. I can't be completely sure, but my arms may have gotten out. Anyway, while this was happening, my head was still lying on the bed, and I was still just seeing the centipede color configuration. As much as I tried, I couldn't get my head up. I eventually tried thrusting my head up, but then I just woke up.
So here are my questions. Sorry this is such a mouthful:
1. Is it possible my arms were out? I cannot be quite entirely sure, as I couldn't see. (Only colors and such)
2. I can never actually see my room or "open my third eye", I only see patterns and colors if anything at all. How can I open my astral eyes without opening my real eyes and waking up?
3. What do you think of this experience? Is it progress?
Thank you so very much for all of your help. I think I may be close!
