Ok so when im attempting to AP i usually lay down and focus deep on the blackness that i see around me and after 10mins of doing that i get this spinning feeling, its not my whole body spinning just my head. Also while feeling this spinning sensation the blackness starts twirling or spinning also and different colors start to form, i'll then feel myself getting excited with my heart pumping fast. This lasts for like 3-4 minutes then it all stops and im back just laying there   :| 8-)

What do you all think ?

Don't get discouraged because you just stopped and then just started laying there. I have learnt that with every experience I have just to enjoy it because one way or another we're progressing and learning! :-) When sensations start to kick in and I start to see visuals I just sit back and relax and try to let myself sink into the feelings, If done correctly I will only go into a deeper state!  Just keep practising and remember, Enjoy the experience!

Hello, Last night I tried a different approach to projection. Instead of doiing it before bed, I woke up early hours in the morning stayed awake for like 20-30 minutes and then tried Projecting. I tried doing the normal noticing method, I would see some scenes flash by and I would feel the effect off them as if they where real, I was quite amazed by this. I changed position, I hit the vibrational stage again, I this time, you know when you're yawing you get a wind noise in your ears, I felt that a tiny bit and I layed there it began to raise and always started to hear like a high pitched sqeeking in my ears, when I feel like I am stuck at a point I stop and change posiiton, So I changed position, Hit vibrational statge ( It seems that I can go through this step easy and seems if I have the intent of inducing them it just happens ) but this time, I realized something what I was doing wrong, I could still feel my physical body, Yes my body was half numb but I could still feel it quite a bit, I layed there and tried to "let go", but I gave up in the end. Ahwell, I did enjoy the experience over having all this experience within 15-30 minutes of trying. Enjoying the experience is great because you know you're making success whether you don't have a full seperation or not, Atleast you know you're experiencing atleast something that's along the right lines! Positive thinking!

Astral Projection Attemp #1
Yesterday I was doing lots of studying on Astral Projection, Lucid Dreaming, Out of body experiences and came across Ryan's Book/PDF and thought I would read through a little bit of it. I read some of it and Jumped down to the Exercises part of the PDF, I came Across the Exercise "Noticing" and read through it as careful as possible. Even though Ryan explained it as easy it was not when it came to experimenting with it. My experience lead from getting no where from being somewhere though!
So, as I began the exercise it kind of confused me of how to see in the darkness, I would look in the darkness and my mind would create random images, but I'm not looking to use my mind am I, I am here to just notice any changes within the blackness. It felt like that was not "working" for me so I stopped and opened my eyes and just lied there for like quite a bit ( not sure how long ). I turn and lie on my back, I close my eyes and just breathe, Suddenly, I felt some kind of vibrations kick in. These where not so intense but I could feel them strongly enough. I kept going and going and open my eyes again. I swapped position and decided to face the wall with my hand under my cheek bone as a rest. My eyes are staring at the wall and because the room was dark the wall started to produce shapes and shapes. (I remember reading somewhere that Ryan likes to use a Spiral or a vortex within the blackness) so I let all the shapes form into a vortex and My eyes sank deeper and deeper until it got darker and darker until I felt the need to close my eyes. So I did close my eyes and I was just relaxing, It began to feel like I was in the middle of a room with nothing around me. So, I put my hand out and touched me wall, and I was still in my bed. I layed there again with my eyes closed and now I started to feel intense vibrations my eye feels like it's twitching and I start to see the colour white. I then stopped again but this time when I close my eyes it's different, I let the sensations take over, I see a white light coming down from my Third Eye creating a line just below my chest. I carry on with the sensations, I feel Numb, My hearts racing, I'm breathing too fast and heavy, I still let the sensations take over, I then notice the blackness in my eyes it feels like I was in the middle off it, It felt like I was about to loose consciousness, So, I took the chance to actually get out my body, I didn't realise until after what I experienced that I was not suppose to just "get up" I just got up like I was still in my physical body, but I was suppose to Visualise my astral self getting up wasn't i? Then after my body moved it ended and I couldn't get to sleep for a while then.

These symptoms are not all in order because I can not remember what came first. Would love some opinions on this please.

A question?
When I am about the project am I suppose to visualise myself getting up? Or move my physical body?

Welcome to Dreams! / quick question about LD
September 08, 2014, 17:54:02
Since in LD it's all about intent. would that mean if you wanted to meet your spirit guide in a LD it would merely just be your imagination? or is it actually your spirit guide?

Hi everyone. How are you? I am fine. I want to stress that I haven't had one astral projection and I haven't looked down at my physical body yet. I am reading books or e-books about astral projection. I have been doing the mental exercise for about 1 week. That exercise is visualizing on a single image for a period of time, without allowing another thought to enter your mind. For example: I can visualize on one mental image of the celebrity I admire for 8 secs. My goal is to able to visualize on a single image for 3-5 minutes. I am adding one second to my exercise every day! You may ask, "Why do you do mental exercise?" Well, the answer is to boost my astral projection or even an insight. Today, I had a nap and saw random images of people I haven't seen before in my life while I was falling asleep. I have that same experience many times in the past after the meditation or reading books about astral projection. What do those images of people mean? Are they hypnagogic images? or what???

You dont need to visualise when astral projecting.......

Okay, I'm not that kid that tries astral projection for five days and gets all upset when it doesn't work immediately. I have been trying astral projection for over one year now and I have little to no luck. The closest I can come is a very, very, rare lucid dream (which i also have trouble doing). It bothers me that some people do not put forth any effort and they can master either or both of these two abilities just by simply going to sleep, when I have been taking the necessary steps for about 13 months now. I have tried keeping a dream log and just about every technique in the book. I even tried the one where you try for about a month than after that just sort of "forget" and let your subconscious work it out but not even that has worked for me. My most recent attempt was yesterday it was 4am and i laid on my back completely still and did not move for about two whole hours. 6am rolls around and not only have I not successfully projected I haven't even fallen asleep. Can anyone please help, maybe tell me what I might be doing wrong. All answers and input is welcome and appreciated please and thank you.

p.s. could it have anything to do with me being an indigo child, if anything I believe that should make it easier?

How do your perform Astral Projection?

Sounds like you are getting deep into your Hypnagogia, which can get confusing and complex.

It could be a communication. What do you think after some reflection?

I do Think you're right as a bit of the time it felt like I was about to fall asleep. Honestly, I am still confused at what I experienced and still wondering what it all means.

Its been some time since I have phased, must of been a couple of weeks. so, I Gradually began to do it.... Relaxing, letting myself go numb..... Relaxing and relaxing. Until, I got to the point where, I wanted to just relax no intent.. after just relaxing, I little white light popped into my mind in the corner, though it felt like the corner of the my eyes. I stayed like that.... Then later on, The picture of myself was standing in a church, yes) It felt like I was standing there, No third person mode lol... I only got a glimpse. At first I thought it was a church but as I carried on relaxing, Shapes started to form....... I started to think was it a funeral home....., I opened my eyes and started again... but this time it was weird. like I had my head on the side but then I noticed shadows and shapes started to form and immediately it felt felt my mind "aligned" straight, it felt weird. I had no control of it, It just moved to look straight once that happened, There was a head taking a forum of a person. I do not know this person. but he had curly hair, rather young. 20's 30's 40's maybe. white face, Had little bits of spots on his face. Brownish hair. After he dissapeared.......Words started reaping telepathically, they just started, I did not intent... They kept on repeating them selves them suddenly the full word came to mind. The word was "appointment" or "apartment" I can not believe I forgot the word. so thats where I stopped. Got a head ache now though.. To be honest, I was still half physically aware.

sorry for my poor spelling and grammar

also, I forgot to mention!
After I tried to ap, I thought meh, Ill go to sleep, Once I close my eyes for like 30 seconds to a minute, I started to see a shadow moving in front of me but as I opened my eyes, It has dissapeared...... and also when I go to the state where my mind was asleep and awake at the same time, I started hearing noises, The noise can not be explained, It did not scare me, Just curious of it thats all.

Fear test...
Just push on through.

As we've said, you have to want this so badly that you're willing to take whatever happens to you in order to achieve it.
Now... obviously... you're completely safe and nothing bad will happen, but that's the mindset you need.

You push on through whatever is uncomfortable.  This is a fear test for you.

Thanks for the reply Ryan! :)

When One goes deeper in a more relaxed state does there head start to sway? Or it is just me? It feels like my heads swaying physical but its not :/

Also, While in a relaxed state before, I came across a few things. The main color I am seeing is "white" It appeared there are many things I saw but the ones I am here to mention, I think I seen a person, a spirit more or less and It was in all white, Like a glow. didn't see any facial features though and there was a tunnel full with white light(well, It kinda looked like a tunnel, yet I am going on the impressions I got)

Do all drugs hinder your ability to focus/raise energy/project?  I've experimented with alcohol and have found that I can barely focus for a few minutes when trying to meditate, and through a lack of a focus, energy work is practically impossible.  I've also read here on the pulse that even If I did have any focus, alcohol severely drains your energy anyway.
But I was wondering if tobacco does the same thing.  I don't smoke, and I'm not looking for anyone to advise trying any crazy drugs to induce an OBE, but has anyone found that chewing tobacco hinders your ability to project?  When I chew before I go to sleep I can raise energy, focus, and get into trances but I'm starting to wonder if my chewing tobacco addiction is what's holding me back.
For the past month or so I've been trying Xanth's method of not using a technique to get out but just enjoy the trance and let myself slip.  Maybe tobacco is not letting me relax enough to "slip out"?

I very doubt it's Tobacco. Just keep practicing like we all are :)

I just don't know how to explain what it was.. all I know is that my third eye had lots of pressure on and I was in a very nice relaxed state!

Focus target you say? hmm it it shows up again, I will go deeper into the cube

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / cube
July 10, 2014, 17:44:57
so it is afternoon here, I was listening to some guy rant about astral projection on youtube, My body was in a very nice relaxed state, I decided to close my eyes, I fell deeper into the relaxed state, Pressure was on my third eye, It hurt lol. Until in my mind I began to see something like a "cube". Not sure if thats the right word. But There was two lines at one side and two lines on the other side, but I got the impression it was a cube. not sure what it is like, only if I could describe more better.

opinions?

Noise or no noise, There is no proper way to meditate

so the method i've been trying is rather a popular one I think. Go to sleep, then once you're about wake, don't move a muscle. Right, so past 2 nights, I've been trying to do it, but when I wake up I always move my body and think to myself, why the hell did you do that, I was suppose to try and project! so I just ended up giving in and falling back asleep

It feels impossible to ap  :x

So I attempted to project around 1pm today. I used some binural beats to help me along but after about 45 minute, it didn't seem to be doing much so I took them out and just laid on my side. Almost immediately I started to feel the signs of an OBE and next thing I know, I am wiggling out of my body. I felt a lot more in control of this experience than I usually am. Most of the time I can't even float or move through object, but I was able to this time.
At some point I decide to ask to see my spirit guide which is something I have never really done before. Nothing happens until I turn around and see a large black jungle cat which I believe was a panther. I freaked out for a second because it was right in my face but then I slowly relaxed when I realized all it was doing was looking at me innocently. At this point I must have slipped into a dream and eventually woke up.
Could this panther (or whatever kind of large cat it was) be my spirit guide? Aside from the initial shock, I did not felt threatened at all.

Hi, I have quite abit of knowledge on spirit guides and animal totems and I watched a video on youtube, similar to your experience but in the video, he seen a tiger. Now after a short while, He realised that he was one with the tiger, Like a reflection of your inner self. You say innocent? Then maybe its reflecting a part of you that's innocent(you could be an innocent person) make sense?

Well, keep in mind that being able to induce any feeling is just that... you being able to induce THAT feeling.

It's like in the martial arts, say Karate for example... they teach you to punch THROUGH your target.  You pick a point PAST your target and you aim for that.
You don't aim for your target, because that's a much weaker strike... by the time you're hitting the target, your punch is pretty much stopped.

What you're doing is that you're focusing so hard on these "symptoms" is that your aiming for the target (symptoms)... and when you finally hit that target (symptoms) and you're stopping.  Aim beyond the symptoms.

It's okay, and even good to have those symptoms/sensations... but they're mostly just a signpost that reads "Keep doing what you're doing, because you're doing it right".
Just keep doing whatever it was that got you there.  Continue focusing away from the physical.  Don't stop to read the signpost.  :)

Thanks a lot ryan! Going to have a good decent amount of goes before I sleep and when I wake up. I will do this one day, If not today, I will keep trying. It's in my hearts desire to astral project. I feel it. I know I can do it. Saying that really am indicating that somewhere inside of me it's telling me "Your nearly there" or something like " your getting closer". Its just a knowing that its something I must achieve. I feel like I can do it, gawdd... Words are hard to describe of how it feels

I can induce most symtons, Mainly fast heartbeat and vibrations. Ill give what you said a try! :-)

Hey all! I recently sent a letter to someone about an experience I had the other day, but I wanted to get some more opinions. I'll post what I sent here.

Just a few minutes ago I did my second Astral Projection attempt of the day. I lied down on my bed as I normally do in a comfortable position. After doing that, I repeated my mantra to myself "I am astral projecting. I am completely safe..etc etc". I've been reciting that mantra in my head, and verbally for the past few days. Next, I plugged in my headphones and began listening to a theta wave binaural beat that someone recommended from Youtube. I haven't experimented much with these, but I've heard that they may help (And I think it did).

After I got settled in, I did my regular meditation technique, and became very relaxed. Shortly after falling into a trance state, my body began to vibrate. Normally I get very strong vibrations in my arms and legs. My first concern is that I never really experience any vibrations above my neck. Is that a problem? Anyway, it seems that each time I enter a trance state I see a different visual each time. Today's visual was very interesting. The background was just a single color, starting off deep blue, and it would shift to pink, red, etc almost like a lava lamp but only one color at a time. On top of the background colors, was a very strange sight. I saw what looked like a completely black, very large, house centipede with hundreds of legs. The centipede kept walking in a spiral into what seemed infinity, neverending. I'm very afraid of house centipedes (I'm a wimp I know  ) but I told myself not to let it bother me. Soon after, these images kept on going but I noticed that a single eye would appear occasionally in the center of my view. The eye looked quite angry, and it scared me briefly but I kept going.

Oh! I forgot to mention. Before any of the following in the last paragraph occurred, I felt a falling sensation and for the first time I managed to keep my eyes closed. Horray!

Anyway, now for the WEIRD part. I still cannot tell if I was actually partially out of body, but the following happened: I could tell that "just relaxing" wasn't exactly getting me anywhere. So, I tried lifting my "Astral arms". To my surprise, I felt my arms move up and they vibrated more intensely than I have ever felt before. And I can't be sure, but I believe in the back of my mind I also could still feel my physical arms lying on the bed. I can't be completely sure, but my arms may have gotten out. Anyway, while this was happening, my head was still lying on the bed, and I was still just seeing the centipede color configuration. As much as I tried, I couldn't get my head up. I eventually tried thrusting my head up, but then I just woke up.

So here are my questions. Sorry this is such a mouthful:

1. Is it possible my arms were out? I cannot be quite entirely sure, as I couldn't see. (Only colors and such)

2. I can never actually see my room or "open my third eye", I only see patterns and colors if anything at all. How can I open my astral eyes without opening my real eyes and waking up?

3. What do you think of this experience? Is it progress?

Thank you so very much for all of your help. I think I may be close!

1. Is it possible my arms were out? I cannot be quite entirely sure, as I couldn't see. (Only colors and such)
Answer: It is possible, But yet again, It's your experience not mine.

2. I can never actually see my room or "open my third eye", I only see patterns and colors if anything at all. How can I open my astral eyes without opening my real eyes and waking up?

Yet, Your not suppose to see as "we" are new to to astral projetion. All you can do is say to yourself "clarity now"

3. What do you think of this experience? Is it progress?

It's an ok experience. I say your making progress
