I know it might be hard to answer, since it might be difficult to tell time during a projection, but for those who have successfully projected, how long did it last?

Ok, so I've been attempting to project for a few years now (very off and on due to school) but have had no luck with getting vibrations. I am able to deeply relax my body on most occasions, and have felt tingly, or slight slurging, but never full violent vibrations that I keep hearing about. I don't really do any energy work, since most sites/books just talk about it but never really get into detailed steps on how to do it. Any suggestions for achieving vibrations?

I don't have any first-hand experience, but I've read about a person who started seeing "shadows" following him during the day, and other "paranormal" activity occur after he started astral projected.

I've heard that your astral body simply "goes through" walls and stuff, but is it possible to move objects in the astral world? Has anybody ever done it? And no, I don't mean move an object in your astral body, and if that object moved in the "real" world, just simply touch an object, for example, pick up a book or drive a car.

note that what's below works for me.Other more experienced people might disagree with me with good reasons, but anyway...Sadly, I don't do any energy work, or meditation, so maybe you could get faster and better results by regular practicing energy stimulation and all the other.

try this on weekend mornings.Let's say you sleeped for 8 hours.Don't get out of bed and try to see if you can fall asleep again. If you can't then:
-tell your familly members you want to "sleep" so they don't disturb you
-make your bed as comfortable as you can get.Meaning that you get as many pillows as you can.Your head should at least make a 45  degress angle with your bed.
-now all you have to do is to stay STILL!! meaning that you don't move a muscle, not even for a single imoment. You might get the sensation after 5 minutes that there are insects crawling in your hair, face.Don't move. You can swallow at this stage but try to stop the reflex as much as you can.
-now let your thoughts run as free as you can. Most books tell you that you must empty your mind but I found this unsuccesfull.Imgine anything you can, mostly ordinary things:talking with people, doing sports, driving, etc.Try to go with the flow and don't focus on anything.Sometimes you can watch the darkness of your eyelids, usually color patterns will apear.
-after some time it will start to get boring and you will feel the urge to move.don't be unpatient, I usually need 40-50 mintues to reach the trance state.
-after 15, even 35 minutes, you will enter a slight trance and a certain weight will be felt.Try to slow your breathing so that you maintain it
-currents from the back of your spine, heart or throat will start to appear.
-the suddendly, while you lay there wondering when the hell will something actually interesting happen a pressure will apear between your eyes( at least that's for me). Just noticing that presure will send your body in the all desired vibrational state. When entering it you will feel like floating, going up,or sometimes like you are diving, falling in nothingness.
-if the vibrations just go with nothing interesting hapening after them, quicly try to focus again on the spot from wich the vibrations started and they will apear with much more power
-aply the exit tecnique that suits you and there you go.

This worked for me after 2 weeks of nothing special ever happening and I was getting the feeling that I hit a dead end.The trick is to lay stil, even when all seems useless, boring, or your muscles and eyelids just scream to use them.View the entire process as a way to relax your mind and body.

Crazy. Just tried you're technique of tilting my head 45 degrees, and got instant results. Awesome. Gonna continue trying. Thanks.

I've read all about OBE's, but having never consciously projected before, I am skeptical....but here it goes. Doesn't it seem likely that projections merely happen in our mind? I'm not saying I don't think its possible to "leave" our body, but it seems like a reasonable explanation. I hear people all the time saying they have proof by seeing something in the astral planes, and confirming it later back in their body, but if people really did have concrete proof, astral projection would be way more "known" or popular, and scientists would be all over it studying it, which I don't think they are.

Without telling you whether you were astrally raped (without asking a very personal question), I'd recommend that do a clearing on your room, and cast a circle (even with your mind) before you have sex with your husband, and try to 'take care of these things' before you decide to project.  Never project aroused.
If you attracted a succubus (or incubus, depends on how technical you want to get with your terms) doing this will establish an intention that will keep you safe.
If you attracted another human projector (who was looking for astral sex) you may see him again (it was prob. one entity, the group experience may have been an illusion to make you feel defenseless) then he may come back.
Succubi are actually easy to get rid of, because once the energy is denied to them they'll find an easier victim.  Humans on the other hand may have other motivation, which may make then peskier.
Don't worry, you'll be fine.

A succubus?? Hahaha

I've been trying to project for a few years now (very off and on - its tough when you're in University), and have only felt full out vibrations a handful of times. Just had one today, very intense, and I heard screams in the background, and although I've gotten somewhat used to it so it didn't really affect me, it was still pretty freaky. I actually got a little over excited which is why the vibrations stopped. Here is my question: after I've astral projected a few times, will I still hear screaming and voicees or does that kind of fade out with experience? And second: whenever I get really strong vibrations, I lose focus of what I'm supposed to be doing and forget about trying to exit my body, and just sort of marvel at the vibrations. Any suggestions about how I could remain focused on leaving my body or exit techniques?

I've read about this in several different places, but what does it actually mean, and how do you do it? I've heard the higher you raise, the more clear your projections become. Also, what are some other benefits.

How can you people bash religion like that? I thought "astral projectors" of all people would respect people who devote great amount of time and dedication to what they believe in. Just because some religious people (Jeh....Witnesses) are more "pushy" than others, doesn't mean that all religions are bad or are only out to make money (which is a ridiculous statement). Come on DB, thought you'd be a little more considerate.

I've really been fascinated with astral projection for about a year now. I remember a couple of years ago, before I ever heard of astral projection, just as I was about to fall asleep, I would hear really loud rushing sounds, and this incredible fear would overcome me.  This would happen maybe once or twice a month, and everytime it would scare the crap out of me, and no matter how much I wanted to see what would happen if I let it continue, my body automatically "terminated" it by either moving or opening my eyes. The weird thing was that on a few occasions I would hear -- very, very clearly -- music, usually Tupac (!!), who is someone I listen to a lot. Whenever I heard it, I never recognized the song or anything, but I could very clearly hear it, even the lyrics.  Has this ever happened to anybody before.  Btw, even after I started reading up on astral projection, for some reason I never realized that I've experienced the vibrational state, but the more I think about it, the more it resembles the early stages of an OBE.

I've been trying 2 project on and off for a while now, and was just wondering if getting rid of "toxins" in your body make a significant difference.  Whenever I'm off a university I don't tend to really watch what I eat (lot of junk food) and drink every once in a while. I am however quite active and in good shape. So could eating bad and drinking (occasionally) have a negative effect on my chances of astral projecting?

I've never consciously astral projected, but I was just wondering, if you could visit fictional places while traveling in your astral body? For example, a distinct place from a movie, that doesn't exist in the physical world.

I've been really interested in astral projecting for a while now, and have been trying to project for a couple of months now.  I can easily relax, and have been able to completely "numb" my body, but have yet to feel any vibrations. On several occasions I might have felt something, but it isn't very intense like I've read about them. I've tried many methods, but none seem to work. What are some things I could try, or methods that have worked for people, after becoming fully relaxed, to induce the vibrational stage.  Also, I doubt it has anything to do with fear, which I only had for a week or so, when I didn't really know too much about astral projection.
