Wow, it's been quite a while since I've visited the Astral Pulse forums...  [|)]

Anyway, I had a question about 'excitement'.
I often see people (myself included actually) claim that they woke up from an LD because they were 'too excited'. It seems to be make sense at first, but is this a legitimate reason?

The reason I ask is that I often feel excited in dreams. Whenever I fall, when I have to fight something, or in the extremely rare sex dream [:P]. I'm certainly very excited when I have these kinds of dreams. But I never get woken up halfway through having them.

So....what makes this normal, dream-excitement different from the LD-excitement?

I've been checking out this forum for a while, but I still don't have any idea what integral philosophy is......  [?]

I was wondering if anyone out there has tried this, cos it won't have possible complications, such as air currents moving your psi-wheel. And some people may feel easier working with metal/magnetic stuff? Plus, you'd have an actual opposing force to your TK, so if you can make it move or rock, you'll know for sure it's working.
That is, assuming you don't have any magnets magically floating around your room...   [:P]

Hi everyone! I just felt like I needed to share this, so here it is.

I watched "Life or Something Like It" with my mom yesterday night. Went to sleep. Woke up at 5am to go the bathroom. When I came back to sleep, I thought of how I hadn't hugged my mom in a long time (years), and I suddenly started crying. When I thought of the movie, and Coulda Woulda Shoulda (Celine Dion), and the feelings felt much stronger. I thought of how much I loved the people around me and all those I know. I thought of how it was important not only to love them, but to show them my love.
I was worried maybe something bad had happened (my dad works in China), but then I realized that the tears were of love and not of sorrow, which made me feel better.
Oh, and it also made me realize that a lot of the things my mom had been doing, like finding movies/events my family could do together, were to try and bring us closer together...

Sorry if the posts seems somewhat incoherent. I guess I have a lot I need to think about.

Note: I had my first serious meditation session yesterday afternoon for 15-20 minutes, maybe that was what sparked this incident? (all previous attempts were done lying in bed before I went to sleep)

Welcome to Metaphysics! / What are Deja vus?
April 06, 2003, 16:37:27
This is the first time I'm posting on this board (I think), so I'd just like to say hi to everyone! [8)]

Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, I was talking with some friends of mine, and we got into the topic of deja vus, including stuff like how they felt, how often we got it, and what exactly they were.
Of course, we didn't arrive at any conclusion on that last point. And since they're not really into metaphysics stuff (they thought I'm totally weird when I told them I was trying for OBEs, hahaha), we didn't talk much about it.
So later I thought, what better place to talk about it than here? [:P]

Sooooo.........does anyone have any speculations or insights as to the nature of deja vus?
How often do you guys experience them? How do they feel like?

Took me about 3-4 seconds to think of any vegetable (mind went blank!), but then I came up with celery... [:P]

Didn't try the colour/tool thing, since someone already mentioned 'red hammer' just before that.

I don't know whether this is a joke or not.
Which makes it really funny [:P]... yet really disturbing. [xx(]

Yeah, you're right, my mind just tends to wander a little bit after I realize I'm dreaming...  [|)]

Thanks for the detailed explanation of the spinning thing.
I've tried it before, but it was just blindly spinning without purpose. Worked to extend my LD for about 10 seconds, then it ended anyway.  [:P]
I'll try it with focus in mind.

So the difference is conciousness, hmm......interesting.  [8)]

That's good to know!!  [:D]

That's a cool idea!
It helps you to get the idea how to focus your awareness outside your body. Imagine you are moving energy back and forth between your hands through the slinky. And if you think of the extra weight (from the slinky) pressing on your palms as energy entering them (and vice versa, when the weight is lifted), you should get a strong autonomous feeling afterwards.

I can actually get some reaction from my palms right now, without using the slinky. I can work NEW really well with my hands, but I really suck at it with my feet/legs.  [:P]

I personally think the soul enters somewhere between the stage when you call the 'thing' an embryo, and when you call it a fetus. I just don't think there's any point in being there any earlier, since spontaneous abortions are common at early stages.

I somewhat agree with the idea that the soul may choose to incarnate into its life, even knowing it is to be aborted. Even if it does not get to be born, I think there is something to be learned or experienced through your physical and telepathic connection to the mother.

I don't strictly believe in hard-wired fate. I think we come into life knowing that we will face certain situtations and choices. And our life and lives of others are changed based on the desicions we make.

As for the abortion thing, I cannot honestly believe that ANY mother would just trivially decide "ooh, I don't want this baby." I would think that the option should be open to her (under certain circumstances), and she should be the one who makes the ultimate desicion. As for whether it's right or wrong, legal or not...well, I really don't care about the subject enough...

There is this girl I know, where when we met for the first time, she asked me whether we'd known each other before from somewhere. She says I feel really familiar.
I wanted very much to be cool and say "Maybe we knew each other from another life", but being the shy person I am, I didn't.
Ever since she said that, I've developed feelings for her. Although over the course of that time, she's got herself a very stable boyfriend.
I'm still good friends with her, and I still love her. [:I]

Are we soulmates?
Heh, I have no idea how you would tell. I keep feeling we are, but it could just as well be wishful thinking... [:P]

Well, I don't have that problem, but my friend does/did.

We were taking the same course last semester, and the freak just could not sit still. Since the whole row of seats was connected, whenever he rocked his foot, all the seats would shake.
Soooo....I got ticked off. So, whenever he rocked his foot, I'd punch him in the leg. Hard.
After a few weeks, he stopped doing it altogether (even outside of lecture).

It's just nervous habit, not a necessity. You don't need to get rid of your tension. Your tension just arises from not doing your habit. Kinda of like when I decided to quit knuckle-cracking. Man, that took me a year and a half to be completely rid of it.

So the things you describe are from an actual place then?
What was it?  [:P]

Sorry dude, I don't enough to answer your question.

But I've also had many experiences with sleep paralysis when I was around 5-7. I'd wake up, but not be able to move or even breathe! Eventually I'd somehow struggle out of it, heart racing and short of breath...
Of course, my parents weren't much help. I haven't had such experiences ever since then though.

Hahahaha, I can't help but notice that this is almost the exact same description that they gave in Dragonball regarding how to fly......
Hmm, maybe this is how we can fly......

What exactly do you mean by 'energy'?
Gravity?
The collective-human-conciousness-belief that you can't fly in the physical?

Is it just this last month, or have you not been able to remember your dreams since....forever?

Hmm...I'd recommend you try out energy raising type of activities before you continue on with your OBE/AP exercises. I've personally only tried NEW, so I can't really give you any alternatives... [:P]

vikram88, I used to get pains like you described. Not anymore though. And yes, it was also when breathing to a certain depth. But that was waaay before I started doing any energy related work, so I'm assuming it's a physical problem. I think it may have to do with putting pressure on your chest? Maybe you're compressing a nerve?
Well, anyway, yeah, it's safer to check with a doctor.

Btw, if you're reading NEW, then you've certainly must have read Bruce's warning about directly stimulating higher chakras before you've got the basics well done!
Oh wait, maybe the warning was in Astral Dynamics. Oh well.  [:P]

Futhermore, if I develop my higher centres first will the overall development be faster including such happennings.

Personally, I don't think it'll work at all. You may be able to stimulate your higher centers, but you probably won't have sufficient energy in your body to sustain any proper development. So I'd recommend just sticking to energy work that right for your level...

"On one hand, it'll help stop terrorism, kidnapping, thievery, run-aways"

Haven't you guys considered the (probably very real) possibility that these stupid devices could also be used by 'bad guys' against you?

And you can certainly jam the signal whenever you kidnap someone or want to hide.  [:P]

Hahahha.....nicely put. But of course, that probably won't apply to everyone the term is supposed to describe.

Yeah, a guy friend of mine is soooooo picky/worried about his hair. His bathroom counter consists of at least 8 types of hair care products (not including shampoo/conditioner), and he messes with his hair where-ever there's a mirror (even though it always looks the same). Man, that totally pisses me off.... [xx(]

Well, I think him saying it gives eternal life is BS (although he may actually believe it himself). As for the website, it was his choice to keep it looking crappy/homemade.

As for how well the rings work, well, you should check out the testimonials. Some of the stories are amazing. Of course, [|)], whether you believe them is another case...

I've tried them out using ceramic magnets a few weeks ago.
I don't feel immortal.  [:P]
On the other hand, I feel strong energy movements when I put them on, starting from my hands, and spreading out through my body (weakening as it goes farther). Also, my dream seem more complex and clear, and I can remember more...

So......yeah. I guess, you should just try it out if you're interested.

(dont say it out aloud though).
