What people typically do is travel around to see if they can find anything that would verify that they are out. One person I know went through a wall to where a family member was, and watched what he was doing. He later checked with that person for confirmation that he was doing that at that time.

I have a set of numbered cards number side up on a high shelf.  The idea is for me to read the numbers on the cards, which I have not seen, because I placed them there without looking at the numbers. No luck with this yet. I hope someone will succeed with this and report it here.
I have a small pilot light illuminating the cards at night.

Yes, cat meow, and if they do that study showing what's wrong with people who think OBEs are real, we should do a study to find the psychological profile of mentally retarded scientists and academics, and their inability to deal with new ideas.

I already have some idea of the personality problems of these people. It has to do with the inability to absorb evidence and evaluate it.
Also big mental blocks about vested interest in areas where the have spent a lot of their academic life.
#3
Note the last paragraph:

'through perfectly ordinary psychological processes - these images and experiences may create the impression of seeing their bodies from the outside."

I am already skeptical. This wording says they want to find an ordinary explanation. This means they are starting out with an opening statement that would like to see the paranormal debunked. If that prejudice prevails, this will be just another clueless effort from backward academics.
Nevertheless the survey will be interesting.

Dagal, I think you have accessed your past from a previous life,
one of the things that is possible when you open the doors
to the beyond. The past is stored there in great detail such that
living it again can seem very real. Whether there is some intent
or purpose in this I dont know. Often there is intent and purpose,
to clear up something that is unresolved or causing trouble in the
present.

I do not believe that the future or the past exist in the sense of
their being places that you could go and visit in any ELS (earth
life system) physical reality.
The future does not exist because it has not happened yet, and the
past is over and gone, and the places where it existed are now
being used in the present. They are not off somewhere else so you
could go visit there. It would take a whole chapter to explain
this, and explain how I can not see the emperor's new clothes.

I believe that the past exists in the astral as a place that you
could visit if you had the ability, and extensive imagery could be
found there, seeming to be real. Also, the past recreates itself in
some known paranormal phenomena, in which people see houses or
roads that are not there any more, but appear real at special
times.

The future exists in the astral, but this is not the real future,
only the probable future, and maybe it is only one of several
probable futures.

Major Tom, I read your posts with great interest, but this time I
don't know what you are on about, on Ben's post. He is certainly
not "insulting anyone with his opinion".
The point he makes about whether the past or future exist are right
on target and very relevant to this discussion.

Ben saying things like that is a long, long way from the preaching
in churches that people like us do not like.

I do not believe that the future or the past exist in the sense of
their being places that you could go and visit in any ELS (earth
life system) physical reality.

Voice, your wife?. Thanks for identifying your gender. The picture that you show caused me to think you were female. The texts of your posts seem male.

I have cards with numbers on them on top of the venetion blind mounting box above the bathroom window. I have a small pilot light above the numers so I can read them when standing on the toilet seat, while in the physical. I reshuffle the cards if I have seen them while in the physical, then put them back without looking at the numbered face.

I have so far had no luck projecting or OBing in there and reading the numbers.

Your post seems to say it was not a waste of time for me to rig the light.

If anyone can do this and read the numbers, I hope they will post it here. I recall someone saying they had a little success, but often got the numbers wrong.

I have tried asking for coordinates to appear in a dream, with no luck.

Your post raises the question of how big a facility out there do we have to connect to, to get any information? Like how do you Google the other side?
It is much easier to Google down here.

Gordon Phinn APs sitting in a hot tub.

Robert Monroe once went OB in an airplane. He went to sleep, then went OB and dropped out through the bottom of the plane, and the plane flew on and left him there in the middle of the sky. He saw the plane disappearing in the distance. He had to fly fast to catch up to his body.

Oh markulous, that is not normal at all. How in the world are you attracting dishonest people to you? Or connedting to them somehow? If your family is like that too, it is not a good sign.  You ned to seek out people of more spiritual nature, high minded people.

Incidentally, I have found that the typical crystal you get at rock shop vibrates electroniclly at frequenies in the range of hundreds of kilohertz. This is lower than the quartz crystals used in electronics, due to the much larger size of the crystal. These freqencies are way above human hearing by a factor of ten or twenty.

There may be several freqencies at which they respond, and each resonance will be narrowly defined such that it will vibrate only at exactly that freqency, which will be one of several frequencies  each narrowly defined.

This information has probably no relevance to spiritual things. I just mentioned it in case anyone is curious.  The vibrations we engineers talk about are not the vibrations OBers talk about. I dont know of any connection between the electronic properties of crystals and their imagined mystical properties.

I find that eating late in the evening, or any eating to boost physical energy at night, makes it more difficult to put the body to sleep, for "body asleep mind awake".

This is the first time I have come across someone talking about
something like what I have been experiencing.

Often in the morning when I woke up, I would see a typewritten page
on my white ceiling. It is in neat rows in a computer font.
The letters are dark against a light background. But when I try to
read it, it is unstable so that I cant run my eyes across the page.
Now, later, instead of a full page, I am seeing individual lines of
print. Again, when I try to read it, the words run into each other.
But it is getting a little clearer now so that I can sometimes read
a word.

This will stay in place about a minute, then it fades. I may see it
looking sideways so it appears in front of objects in the room, but
when I turn my head so as to project it onto the white ceiling, in
order to read it better, it will disappear.

I am an engineer with a degree in physics. I have the logical
objective mind that goes with that. I have been following this for
many years. But it takes a mind with enormous scope to deal with
this. It is very complicated and contradictory.

You are not going to be able to "purify" the lore by bringing in
mentalities like mine, and get rid of what you may happen to
consider to be mythical. The reason is that a lot more than just,
say, an OBE experience is likely to be true. There is a huge field
of the paranormal that is legitimate.

My rule on this has been to stay with the evidence. Then there is a
lot of consideration to figure out exactly what the evidence
demonstrates and what it does not.  There is a long sorting
process. When the ideas get far from the evidence, I set them aside
and spend the time elsewhere. But truly talented people can come up
with a lot that can be verified, and that is the working area.

I have had some exasperation with dealing with some of the
nonsensical ideas in the new age, and have repeatedly challenged
them in forums, demanding explanations and answers. These things do
not tend to get resolved any time soon. The reality is that there
is no pure source of truth, no holy books that are pure, and almost
no channeled information that is not flawed in some way. Some of
the ideas in Seth, Elias, and others are completely impossible to
visualize or deal with, and I have had to rule them out. When I
have done this, the offended parties have not been able to defend
or explain the questionable ideas.

But I have accepted the ambiance of mysticism and nuttiness as
coming with the territory, because some of the nuttiest people are
some of the most talented psychically. Indeed, skepticism may be a
barrier to having the experiences that prove these things exist.
I  have found that an attitude of tolerance and indulgence is
helpful, while you extract what you are looking for. You do not
want to be at war with the very people whose talents are going to
reveal the hidden world to you. There is a large amount of social
learning that goes along with these explanations, and I have
learned to correct troublemaking behavior, in forums and chat
rooms. Challenging ideas in mental cults is a careful undertaking.

Here is another OBE forum:

http://lilacsky.proboards39.com/index.cgi

You need to look down the list for the OBE forum. There are 2 forums,  one, the OBE world, one on OBE techniques.

I don't see insufficient focus as a problem in the present setup.
That is, most of the posts seem to be on the designated topic.
If there is not enough from the advanced people, it is because
they just don't post that often. They have been through a lot of this
already. But they do post when something gets their attention.
We like to hear from the advanced, but may have to wait for them to
become articulate. I would not expect that restricting things a little
would make them more articulate.

The only thing I recall like this case, was a case where a man
simply folded up and died on the way to church. He was walking
along, and suddenly said, "I can't go on any longer", and folded up
and died on the sidewalk.

Then, it turned out later, that he had been reborn as a member of
his family. This child insisted that older members of his family
were his children. It was found that the man he insisted was him
had died on his present birth date.

This does not match your case, but the reason that I mention it is
that it was a case of an external force acting to pull a soul
right out of its body. It was as if he had been scheduled to
reincarnate within the family, and he did not die in time to meet
that schedule, so some force, acting as the master of ceremonies,
forced the issue.

That case would suggest that whatever was doing this, at least had
a reincarnation plan for the person who was taken. But in your case,
it looks more as if something had gone wrong.

The constant repetition of the possibly Egyptian scene is something
you should continue to probe. When a person dies, the death scene
goes onto the astral. In one case, a man who died under a snow
avalanche thought he was still alive under the snow. That is, he
took a replica of the avalanche with him into the astral. The
helpers who came to retrieve him handled it that way, by acting
like a rescue team to dig him out. Perhaps you died there near that
tree, and the death scene stayed stored in your soul and has been
reactivated for some reason. That death might not have been
properly processed.

The quote for Midsummer Nights Dream suggests some element of
negative self worth. It is not unusual for one part of the
personality to want to die, so that it is in conflict with the
rest, and this conflict has become vehement.  Or, there could be a
negative external force pulling you out for some reason. Such a
force must be confronted. The bruises could be coming from an
internal or an external source. Psychically caused bruises are
something that is known.

As for premonitions of death, these would be created as astral
images by the condition of not breathing. These images do not mean
that you are going to die. They are automatically generated by life
threatening conditions. The astral generates images way ahead of
the conditions that prevail. The bloody images you got of your
teacher are generated by his thoughts of suicide, but are not views
of the future, only the future suggested by his thoughts.

I would suggest a hypnotic regression into a previous life, to find
out about the tree in the desert. You could try Linn at

She only charges $30 last time I heard, and she is quite gifted.

If you can survive this, your gifts may some day be a great thing,
if you can learn to live with them.

Yes I read that Leyla post with great interest.

My problem is that a lot of my dreams are so absurd that I can't
see putting any effort into keeping track of them. Half the time I
don't even like them. When I go to bed, I plead, please don't give
me any more of THAT kind of dream. I want some nice wish
fulfillment dreams, where I get to do what I can't do in reality,
right now. But right now my life is full of unavoidable hassles and
conflicts, so maybe dreams that I don't like have some kind of
validity.

To me, the idea of wasting time keeping track of absurdities is
for very nutty people. However, I recently read an article about
how nuttiness and psychic talent go together, in some cases. I am
so to speak, a Vulcan, who thinks predominantly rationally and
logically. But I admit that sometimes I almost immediately have the
answer intuitively, somewhat the way Leyla describes. But even
then, I will still want to belabor the issue logically and build a
logical structure around it as well.

What I suppose I will have to do is make up my mind how much I want
to go to the next step, and access these higher abilities: what I
think they are worth in contribution to life, and how much time I
will put in, for uncertain success, when practical things are more
pressing. I do think that this weird area is the forefront of
science. So I am asking myself, am I now supposed to live weirdly,
to access it?

(I see this post has been partly responded to by many posts written
while I was writing mine.)

Speaking of not being able to read.. Recently I have begun
sometimes seeing, with my eyes open, a typed page on the ceiling
when I wake up in the mooring. It seems clear and sharp, with neat
even rows, except that it seems to jump around, so that I can not
have it be still while I move my eyes across it try to read it. I
can only get a few words here and there. It lasts about a minute or
less.

This sometimes happens after I have attempted a meditation the day
before, to get some information. It would be so nice if I could
just plain read it, ready for me in the morning, like the morning
paper.

It is really neat that you got the verification on the salt. That
was at least something. Maybe if you do a lot of focussing ahead of
time, you could get some more.

I work in electronics and can build things. What sort of device
do you want to build, to do what?

I would take this dream seriously. I know people who have been
taken over by sprits who were up to no good. They even tried to
make the victim commit suicide.

This could be just a schizophrenic type nightmare. Or it could be a
real warning. I would say that having that cat in your life is not
a good thing. There have been too many black animals.

You need to ask around for a psychic of known reputation. You have
some big questions to explore. One is, what is really with this
cat? Is it just a cat, or not.? I don't think it is just a cat. I
have known some mean cats. One attacked another young cat because
this newcomer was getting more attention than she was. But that is
mild compared to what you might be dealing with.

Another question is, what attracted this spirit to you? People with
positive outlooks do not attract negative spirits. What is the
fascination? Do you have a hidden dark side? Or a good side that
this spirit does not like?

Another question is, what in the world will you do with this cat?
Having it in the house wit you is not good. That means it is
succeeding with its plans and getting to you. If you have it put
down, where will the spirit go next? To do what? Can you
communicate with it in some unusual way? Find out anything?
What does it mean when the cat attacks you? What is that all about?

Also, your fear is not good. That may be part of it, to try to make
you afraid. Your fear is rational. But there is a need for
defiance, command, authority. It is your life, and you control what
gets into it. How do you confront the cat? I don't know, but maybe
with your thoughts and your speech. You will need help, someone who
can deal with this. You don't know how powerful the creature is.
Being able to make the fur come out black would be powerful. That
is a genetic intervention. Spirits can sometimes do that, produce
birthmarks from a previous life. Or impose their previous
appearance over what is expected from genetics.

Maybe a psychic can see the cat's aura. I remember reading about
someone who was told by everyone who could see auras, that his aura
was black.

What I do is to grab my toes and pull them inward hard toward me,
so as to stretch the muscles of the foot and leg
to their maximum possoble length, then hold them like that
for a while, until the cramp subsides.

This reminds me of something I did when I lived alone in a small
cabin in the desert. I don't mind solitude and am perfectly at home
being alone. But there were periods when my imagination would get a
little loose about what might be out there in the darkness outside
my cabin. I know a lot of ghost stories, and sometimes there would
be a little nervousness.

I developed a little game. I created a monster. This was a black
demonic looking creature with long horns like a Texas longhorn, and
big yellow eyes. It stood up on its hind legs. Then I would walk to
the cabin door, ready to greet the imaginary monster who was
outside the door, and then open the door and say "hello monster,
how are you doing?" In the game, the monster and I were on friendly
terms.

Of course, there was no one there outside the door. The object of
the game was to form my silly nervousness into a form that I could
deal with. By first imagining some thing to be nervous about and
then going and seeing that there was nothing there, I could dismiss
things in my mind.

But I sometimes wondered afterwards, if I could be in some way
actually creating that entity.

Perhaps you have read of the Philip experiment. A group of table
sitters created a spirit entity who they named Philip, and the made
up a biography of him and gave him a distinctive character. After
they had his history and personality established, the would then
join hands and call for him as a spirit, to rap the table in answer
to questions. This actually worked, the table would rap and answer
correctly. This was later replicated by another group.

The question would be whether the entity that you call up needs to
already exist somewhere. I think you can create it. In retrievals as
discussed on afterlife-knowledge.com, where I hang out, involve the
creation of whole scenes, of great variety. For example, in a
recent post, a mule train of mules loaded with supplies was created
for the benefit of souls killed in the Bam, Iran earthquake.
Our lore includes the existence of an advanced entity who is called
a master creator, who can create elaborate thought forms mentally,
and cause them to become real as thought forms.

It sounds as if you might have some abilities like this.

I know schizophrenics who can create vast menageries from their
imagination, and there is at least some question of whether the
things they talk about are real or not.

Zecharia Sitchin created a tenth planet by writing about it. It
does not exist in physical reality, but it became a thought form
that was picked up by many people and became a delusion in the mind
of Nancy Lieder. Nothing she said about it was true in astronomical
reality. This is told in the post "New planet approaching" in this forum.
Zebrina picked it up, and met a "lady of the red planet", an
imaginary creature.

Many years ago I heard Robert Monroe describe on a radio program on
KFI here in Los Angeles, how he once went out of the body while
traveling on a commercial plane and dropped out of the bottom of the
plane, and awoke conscious and OB in the middle of the sky, with the
plane flying far away in the distance, carrying his body far far
away. I don't recall the details but I think he managed to catch up
with his body in the plane.

From this, you would have to say that the silver cord can stretch
very rapidly.

This is very interesting. It deals with one of my themes, which is
the question, how real is a thought form?

On the board where I spend most of my time,
afterlife-knowledge.com, we have through the adventures of our
astral travelers, discovered among other things a series of heavens
which are labeled hollow heavens, not the "real" one. There are
places that souls go after death, that fit their belief system that
they had on earth.  We call these BSTs or Belief System
Territories.

One of these is patterned from passages in the Bible book of Luke,
and Revelations, in which Jesus is supposed to come in the sky, on
some great day. In this BST, the arrival of Jesus in the sky is
periodically enacted, for the benefit of the believers, but it is
all fake, staged. This BST appears to have been created by those
passages in the Bible, and is a sort of interim location for the
souls who believe.

Another example is in the thread that at the moment is riding next
to yours in the list, about planet X. Planet X is a fantasy
invented by Zechariah Sitchin, who invented a planet in a 3600 year
orbit to explain things happening on earth that he assumed were
periodic. This is extremely improbable, because of the extreme cold
of deep space, for such an orbit, in which atmospheric gases that
we breathe here on Earth become liquid, and the sun becomes only
another star, so that there is no day, only eternal night, and
temperatures reach within 4 degrees Kelvin of absolute zero.

Nevertheless, this idea captured the imagination of thousands of
people, who did not have the knowledge of science and astronomy to
discard it, and it became a collectively held thought form. This
thought form was then picked up by Nancy Lieder, who weaved a
schizophrenic fantasy about aliens telling her how planet X was
coming near Earth, to create great destruction. That was last
spring, but planet X never came. The amateur astronomers looked for
it, it was not there, and they laughed about it. Zebrina also
picked up this thought form, and had some kind of exploration in
which she met the lady of planet X. I have a message in the first
page of the now 8 pages of that thread, explaining this.

What you could have is a thought form, filled out in great detail
like a BST. This does not yet say that this world you visit is not
real. Like what is reality, anyway? To all intents and purpose of
the people living in a BST, that BST is real. And maybe some group
really is trying to steal the soul of the Earth, and almost
succeeding, judging from looking at terrorism.

But the planet X BST is not real. So, I am not at the moment
defining your world as real or unreal, I am merely offering these
things as perspective. I am certainly glad you came forward. Now to
find the rest of your team!

You hit the snooze button?  Did you actually manipulate the switch while in that condition, or did you have no effect on it?
What about the bathroom light?
