I know this topic has been dealt with before numerous times before b/c I did do a search on this topic before.  Last week after doing some energy work and trying to get into a trance before bed, I dozed off like I normaly do.  I woke because I have a bad habit of inhaling my saliva because I'm lying on my back causing me to wake up coughing.  I decided to go to sleep, but I kinda stayed awake at the same time walking that thin line between sleep and awake.  I then got this ringing in my ears that I don't hear often, but when it happens I know the vibrations are about to come.  The problem is if I concentrate too much on the vibration they go away and if I don't concentrate on them they go away.  They usually go for about what seems like fifteen seconds, stop, then start up again for a short while.  After a few minues I said enough, and tried to do the rolling technique (my favorite exit technique b/c it's the only one that works for me), but I find my astral self stuck to my physical pelvis.

After this is when I did the search on being stuck and all the post I found said that I should try to make the vibrations spread trhough my body (they start in my head) and try to kinda accept them to try to build up the stral body's strength so it can fully seperate.  I thought to myself, seems logical and I will try it out next time the vibrations come.

After work today I decided to take a nap, and after about an hour I wake up w/ that great ringing sound again.  The vibrations started, and I tried to just relax and accept them and I tried to make them spread, but it kept doing that on one second on another second off thing.  Again I got annoyed and tried to roll, but I would get partially out and get sucked back in, so I would try again and again w/ the same results, makine me feel like a astral yo-yo.

Essentially I was wondering if anyone could maybe give me some advice about my situation.  Any tips about making the vibrations  go at a steady pace, b/c once that happens I know I can make them spread through my body and I can just let them vibrate for awhile to strengthen my astral body.  Thanks.

I have been practicing obe for about 6 months now w/ limit success.  I have three so far and have probaly spent a total of 45 second oob conciously.  The best time for me seems to be when I just wake up especialy after a nap or in the middle of the night.  Last night, I fell a sleep after trying meditating for about thirty minutes and was a sleep for about 3-4 hours.  I woke up and the vibrations started to come on (which now happens occasionaly now unfortunately), but when they started to get really loud I all of a sudden heard this really sinister laugh.  It spooked me b/c it sound like it was all around me and it broke my concentration.  I got the vibes back a couple time but not as strong and I couldn't stop thinking about that laugh.  I was so close.  Has anyone else had something similar happen?

I was just wondering how people got onto the subject of Astral Projection.  Me I read the Holographic Universe and loved the section on OBE's and NDE's.  About two weeks later when waking up I felt like I was being sucked up tthrough my third eye and then found this website and have been interested since.

I have been practising ap for about six months now, and I alerady have had two.  Each lasted about six seconds and happened when I was waking up or had a lucid dream.  I have been trying to have them conciuosly though.  I have been relaxing my body and doing the mind awake/body asleep technique.  Shortly after I start, I feel as if something is exerting presure on my thir eye area.  It's not really painful but just annoying and it causes me to close my eyes more making them tenser, not relaxed.  What is this pressure I feel?  I try yot not think about it and relax my eyes but w/in five minutes they tense up again.  Any sugestions would be appreciated.  Thanks

This morning I had my second oob.  The first one was about 3 or four months ago and I have been practing on and off since then b/c i have little time b/c of my job.  I woke up about six and decided to go back to sleep when I had a long dream that kept no switching themes.  After a while I realized I was dreaming and I had a feeling like I was raiding my vibrations.  There were no loud vibrations but soon after I raised them I was no longer dreaming but I felt like I was floating.  My "eyes" were closed and I could see myself floating up to the cieling staring straight at it like I was lying on back.  I reached my hand out to try to touch the cieling but I couldn't see my arm move.  I opened my eyes ad I wasn't looking towards the cieling but my wall and my hand went through it and I could feel the walls energy.  I realized I was floating but I soon lost conciousnes and fell asleep again.  When I woke up I found myslef facing the wall that I had put my hand through.

What I think happened was while I was floating out of my body with my eyes closed, I wasn't really looking from where my eyes would be but frmo the side of my head.  I think I realized I was just mimicking how my body was positioned while I was sleeping.  This expirience made me think that our dream state is like a different level on conciousness that's right under obe state.  What do others think of this Theory.

On a couple of posts, I have heard people talk about astral phasing.  I have never really heard of the that before, so could someone tell me the differences between astral phasing and astral projection.  Also, for people who are familiar with both, which one do you feel is better?  Thanx.

This is the second night in a row that I had an OBE during a false awakening.  I wake up, about 45 minutes before I have to get up (8:15), and I decided to try to lie in bed to try to project.  I feel the vibrations come on, and I relax, but these vibrations are intense and I have to hold onto my bed so I wouldn't fall off (Yeah I was actually moving).  I finally project, and I'm surprised at how mobile I feel.  I'm floating easily which I couldn't do to well the first time I projected (that was a real projection), so I decide to explore my house in this state.  I fly through my doorway which was open (I always close my door when I sleep) and pass my dog Brisco.  I then go down the stairs and go into the kitchen.  I see another dog, so I decide to se if I could pass through him, but I can't and we knock into eachother causing him to give out a yelp.  I decide to go back up to my room, and this strange dog follows me, try to to jump up and play with me.  I go back to my room to get back into my body, but it wasn't there, but I knew sometimes you can't see your body when you project.  I started to think about my physical body, but I didn't get back in, I had to really concentrate.  I finally get back in, I look at my digital alarm clock and it reads 9:28, about a half an hour after I have to get up.  I get dressed run down stairs, and I still see this strange dog.  My dad asked me if he heard buster (not really what the dog was called, I forgot his name) acting funny, and I said no and asked who's dog that is (sometimes we dog sit for friends when they're away and vice-a-versa, it's much better than locking the dogs up in a kennel) and he says Jackies (it definately wasn't her dog because I know them well, and anyways she lives in Italy now, not the US).  Finally I really woke up and it was only 8:30.

I  have a couple of questions.  What exactly is a false awakening, because it's not quiet a dream because I can read things easily like a digital clock.  Also is there really much of a difference between projecting during a false awakeing than in real life?  Could I possibly still project to a different plane like the astral in this state?  And fianlly, is there any way that I can prevent myself from inducing a false awakening right after I get up?  I'm pretty sure I woke up for real then slipped into a False Awakening.

I was waking up this morning and I decided to try to try to wait for the vibrations.  They started to come and I relaxed, and eventualy I projected, but I couldn't see (this would have been my second).  I asked for good vision, but it didn't work, then I got forced back into my body.  I looked at the time, and I remember it was past nine (it was on a digital clock, so I thought I was awake), and I tried to wait for the vibrations again.  They came, but I couldn't project, when I tried to sit up with my energetic body, I just sat up with my physical body.  Eventually, I really woke up and looke at my clock and it was 8:45.  I again tried to relax and wait for the vibrations, but I couldn't really relax b/c I was thinking about this wierd expirience.  Has anyone else had this happen?  Is there anyway to induce an OBE with a false awakening?  Is there really any difference between the two different OBE's?  thanks.

After about one month of intense practising, I finally had my first OBE about fifteen minutes ago.  I took a nap, and about an hour and a half after I fell I sleep I started to wake up.  Then I felt like the buzzing was going to start, so I decided to try to relax.  All of a sudden my teeth start to chatter like I was shivering and it scared me, so I stopped.  I thought for a second, this happens every time, so just let it.  Luckingly the buzzing came back and my teeth started chattering again, but this time I let them.  After awhile, the hynagogic imageary started to change, so I decided to try to sit up.  I did, and I felt kinda sluggish, and I opened my eyes.  I wasn't conviced that I had left my body, but then I started to fall lightly for no reason.  My vision went out w/out closing my eyes, so I knew I was probably projecting.  I thought about floating to the cieling and imediately I was floating, but I still couldn't see.  I wondered what my body looked like and then all of a sudden I was back in it.  It maybe lasted 15 to 30 seconds, but it was incredible.  Afterwords my vision was a little different b/c everything seems to flicker, especially this damn computer moniter.  Hopefully I'll be able to control myself a little better, but that'll probably get better w/ practice and hopefully I'll get more tonight.

Hi everyone.  About two months ago I got interested in the subject of OBE's and about ten days ago I got Robert Bruce's Book Astral Dynamics.  After a couple of days I found that the NEW techniques were extremely simple and that I did even need to use my awarness hands to raise my energy.  A day or two after that I started to feel vibrations whenever I raised my energy for more than ten minutes, so I felt that I was progressing fairly well.  For the past year I have recently had this feeling when I'm asleep that my last molars are decayed and falling out, and whenever I tried to open my mouth it felt like a wire was keeping the shut, making it painful to open them.  After awhile I realized it's all in my head, so when this happens I just lie there with my mouth closed and go to sleep.  Yesterday afternoon I was taking a nap when I felt this feeling again, but this time it was acompanied by the vibrations.  Then all of a sudden I here this buzzing/bumping sound.  It wasn't constant though, it would buzz for about a second then go away for a second or two, then come back.  It scared me a bit, even though I knew that I was about to project.  I got up from the nap, confident that when I tried it again than night I would be successful at leaving my body.  So last night I did all the exercises, I started to feel the vibratrions and my mouth started hurting again.  Before the buzzing started again, I realized that I was grinding my teeth together, which kinda freaked me out because that bad for your mouth and haw, and I stopped what I was doing.  So my question (finally) is is there any way that I can relax my jaw, or should I just suck it up and let myself grind my teeth for a few minutes before I project?  I know it sounds wierd, but any advice will be apreciated.  Thanks.

Last night, I was lying in bed for about two and a half hours, not having any luck going to bed.  I decided to start looking at the images and patterns I saw when I closed my eyes.  The patterns usually have a certain frequency or rythm to them, but I started to look up and to the center (well, moved my eyes that direction), and all of a sudden the beat changed (I think it became slower) and mmy eyes started to move un-controlably, I think like I was in a REM state.  The patterns and images sarted to change, my head (or brain) started to tingle, and I kinda felt like I was being sucked up while I has having a slight seizure (my right arm started to shake).  I soon forced my eyes open because I was a little freaked, but then I collected my self and started to repeat the process.  I felt extremely exhausted, I couldn't concetrate as well, but I could still changed the frequency of the visuals and get the tingling sensation back in my head a bit, but I couldn't get it as intense as before.  Was i about to have a WILD, and if so do you have any sugestions on how to progress?  Thanks.

What you describe is very typical.  This happened to me also one time before I really knew anything aout astral projection.  It really isn't your heart beating at a mile a minute, it's your heart chakra that is opening up and vibrating.  I know it is scary at first, but you have to try to relax and let the vibrations spread through your body.  The way I look at it, it's kinda like chargeing up your energy body to prepare it for seperation.  You don't have anything to worry about, and you mght even want to look on this web site and read the article about NEW (New Energy Ways) by Robert Bruce.  Here's the link:

Hope this helps.

This thread was the ruin of a perfectly good Lucid Dream I was having.

I read this thread last night before going to bed, and I had lucid drean too.  I was in a an old car from the sixties, but I was flying in it.  Next to me in the passenger seat sat a friend of mine who died a cople years ago.  We were talking about something, and then all of a sudden I ask him, "You're dead aren't you?" in a matter of fact way that you talk in in dreams.  He looked at me and said "yeah" and the he just kinda went away.  So I'm on the ground and I decide to fly b/c I realize that I'm dreaming and I started to fly through these tall tree/bush plants, just letting them pass right through me.  On top of one I see this cat who is made out of the evergreen plant type material that the bushes were made out of.  I then statred to think about this topic and how cats mess w/ peoples projections.  The cat sees me, pounces on me, and I wake up.  The wierd thing is I couldn't feel the trees pass through me but I cout feel the evergreen cat's claws go through me.  Was a pretty wierd a expirience but cool none the less.

Sounds to me like you had an obe.  I have only had a few, but one of the times I got that big bang and light flashes going on in my head, they are pretty typical.  Congrats and keep  practicing b/c thats the only way you'll get the hang of it.

I was thinkg about writng a reply to this link and try to use a logical argument on how pretty much most religions in the world speak well of astral projection and use it for spiritual developement.  Yes even christianity and judaism.  But as I was registering I saw the agreement which made me laugh.  Here are some quotes:

"You realize that this site is against all forms of Occult activity, which is listed in the KJV of the bible and other stuff deemed unholy"

"You will not attack or abuse anyone on the forum. Christians will adhere to biblical principals and respect others beliefs and will not attack non-believers."

But they go on to say....

"You also understand that we believe that you are demon possessed if you are into Satanism,Witchcraft,Buddhism,Hunduism, or any other belief listed on the site."

Not only are they completely hipocritical wacko's, but they have poor grammar too (demon possessed?)

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Naps and OBE's

All of my projections (3 of them) happened after naps or when I woke up in the middle of the night.  It's like what Huwie said, your body is already asleep but your mind is awake.  It sucks though b/c I can't nap as much as I want b/c I have a job.  I've been trying to remember to try to project when I wake up at night, but most of the time I just fall right back to sleep.  Ohh well, I guess practice makes perfect.

Aphex twin is awesome, but most of his stuff I can't really meditate too.  I recomend Boards of Canada, they take sounds from natue and mix them.  Music has the right to children is teir only good album.  Also Orbital is good, especialy insides ans sniviliztion.  But my favorite is the Orb, they also have a song called O.O.B.E (what does that satnd for?).

When I went there I didn't see anything that was free. What link did you click on to get the free version?

For nutmeg to work you must have fresh nutmeg.  If it was dried it won't make you halucinate.  It's a little harder to get it fresh, but you could probably get it at an organic market.

Regarding mushrooms, fresh one are only legal in Florida b/c they grow like weeds there.  Most other states they ae illegal
#23
Salvia divinerum is a legal drug.  If you can't get it near you you can always order it from the web.  I've never done it but I was told the 10x extract is the way to go.  Supposedly if done right you are tripping for a half hour then feel really lethargic for about 3 hours after.  I personally prefer mushroom tea.
