I havn't had any sucess with traditional astral projection attempts in the 5 months that i've been trying, so i started shopping around, to perhaps find some alternatives. I recently purchased 2 1ft tall, live Salvia Divinorum plants, and was wondering if anyone had had any sucess or memorable experiences using it in regaurd to projection. Thanks very much,

Ok, i was doing an ap practice last night, using the breathing tecnique, then i got really mild vibes after a while,
THEN
all the sudden, it felt like i was getting struck by lightning all over my body at once! was that part of the viberations? also, all viberations stopped after the electric like experience. I know that i was literally jolted awake, but even though i tried to re-relax myself nothing would come.

Hello all,
I am a major insomniac, due to a chemical imbalance, and of corse this interferes with projection, either i lay on my back for hours wishing my body would sleep, and eventually loosing concentration, or i take a sleeping pill, and i have very heavy, uneventful sleep.

Does anyone know of any herb or root or substance that premotes sleep without interfering with projection???

My name is Eric, and i'm fairly new to the astral experience, and have yet to achieve a concious out of body experience.  I am currently reading Astral Dynamics, and am completly open to pointers and suggestions from anyone who would offer them. I have been attempting projection for about 3 months now, with very little signs of any sucess. I generally try to relax myself, then go into a trance start with some white noise in the background. So far, the only thing that I've achieved is reaching a point where my pulse seems to be pounding in my head, especially temples and nose, then, soon after, my entire head begins to hurt, feeling as if there is a pressure particulary in my temples and the top of my skull, like something is inside, and pressing outward. this is quite uncomfertable, and continues even for a few minutes after i've stopped. like i said, anyone who can tell me what's going on, and/or give me any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I saw this thread today, and ran out and rented the movie. It is definetly one of the best movie's i've ever seen. Here is my take on it:
His chiropractor says that as soon as he's made his peace, and is ready to go, the demons become angels and help take him to heaven. If you watch the movie, there are multiple scenarios in which jacob says "i'm going to die" "you're trying to kill me" or is told that he is dead. He usually puts up a momentary struggle, which is very hell-on-earth for him, them seems to almost accept his fate, lays back, closes his eyes, and prepares for the end. The moments where he is with his real wife and children always follow immeadiatly. He is on the verge of making peace with everything, thus the his own personal demons have become his own personal angels, his family. Up until the very end, this peaceful scenario is always ruined when he flases back to vietnam. In my opinion, vietnam was the real physical reality, he had died there, but his soul was still clinging to life until he found out for himself what had really happened there, and what he truely cared about. Once he had finaly figured all of this out, his soul was able to move on, and his body finally died. That's just my take on it, this is the kind of movie that could mean a different thing to each person whom watches, definetly a must see!

What you are saying really does make sense. I'll keep trying to go the natural route, i suppose that "instant solutions" or "quick fixes"are in general usually not the best rout to go. I still wonder what it may have been like though... oh well, at least i have a new focus, developing my green thumb. I already purchased the plants, i may as well tend to them.

it's a plant. it means "deviners sage" it has been used by aztec shamans for going on "spirit vision quests" for hundreds of years, and it's supposed to send you right out of your body, but i don't know anyone else who's actually used it yet, so...

Kozzi- i am trying to quit smoking, i'm down from a pack and a half per day to only 5 or less smokes in 24hrs, hopefully i'll sever the habbit all together soon
bevis- can i get melitonin at like a health goods store, or do i need to special order it? how expensive is it?
