I agree that too much of something is bad for you.
I am more successful in things when I've found a good balance.
Great advice

Shouldn't the title be "Don't be a technique trick?"
:?
Kids these days!   :x      :-D

 you're right. i initially thought 'technique ***' but this one sounds a bit more clean...not really but a little. who cares! you guys know what i mean.  :-D

i think this is the biggest hindrance in an ap attempt (or anything in life for that matter).  its hard being loyal to something when you don't see results right away, but in the end its worth the wait.

you should publish all your journal entries. i know its been done (adventured beyond the body) but so what. you're a really good writer

Back in the day I use to go from one technique to the next...usually after just one or two weeks.  Nothing would happen, i was so impatient and would quickly search for the 'next best thing'  :-D i thought i was the hot stuff caz I knew all the techniques around.  all that locomotion and no results.  Please dont get caught up in that pimp wave.  It feels like you're getting somewhere but its all an illusion.

One day i actually saw myself jumping around and ordered myself to stop.  I realized the subconscious needs 'time' to digest any new method.  Changing, going back and forth from one method to another will only confuse the system.  The technique doesn't REALLY matter.  Its the state of receptivity that comes as a result of repeating the same method over-and over for some time.  In reality, they're all arrows pointing to the same thing.  So my advice to any newbie pimps around stick to one method for at least 50 days, digest it.  Sleep with it, love it, be loyal to it for a month and half (preferably 90 days).  Write the results and if nothing happens worth your while, find a new one.  But my guess is you WILL have some results within 50 days if you genuinely give it a chance.  Therefore, look before you leap, then leap and dont look back.

hmm, the best method for me (and ive tried almost everything) is probably the most simple.  Just watching myself enter sleep...holding on to a strand of a consciousness.

Hey fam.  Had a lucid dream last night.  I was @ church watching one of the most angelic performances from our dance ministry and suddenly 'How many licks' by lil kim blasted on the speakers.  The dancers started stripping and doing booty-pops across the stage.  I thought to myself 'i wish i could do a pop like that'.  I laughed and said 'ha, i must be dreaming.  then i got lucid.

Here's some reality checks that always work for me:

1. When i see the color red, i ask 'am i dreaming'
2. I look at my hands, even when i'm awake, and ask 'am i dreaming'
3. Watching male strippers at church, i don't have to ask

there's a lady (astralvoyage.com) who used it and had 5 OBE's in a row.  but she's also been studying ap for some time  :| Nevertheless I imagine the mask can certainly be an aid to begin leaving the body

Wat's work?

Only this?

Does it matter? We're all quite aware of your valuable opinion on the subject so you can give it a rest.  The topic is clearly not your taste.

Hi Mogio,

I recently just used binaural beats to enter a deep trance state and it worked for me too.  I think the more you use it the faster it'll take to relax.  It's like training wheels to teach your brain how to slow down.  I just started yesterday and after five minutes of listening I started to see images. Works for some people.  The main thing is to keep your focus 'away' from the body either through pushing your awareness into one of the images (without losing lucidity) or keeping your mind's eyes at some focal point outside your body.  Anything that makes your subconscious think 'out'

Hope that helps. And welcome to the club. I'm new too  8-)

lol. Oh well. Worked for me  :-D
I just got the sample for free and looped it 5xs. teehee!

Hey guys, I just finished researching the effects of binaural beats which are commonly used sound frequencies that dramatically reduce brain activity.  I was iffy about it at first, I always have been. But I tried it out this morning anyway and was surprised by the results. After having just listened to 5 minutes I was already seeing images.  It's the perfect entranceway, esp for beginners, into the trance state.  Completely not the same as listening to music.  These beats are made specifically for altering the consciousness to induce deep meditation, astral travel, or WILD's.  In fact this site

http://www.store.unexplainable.net/products/astral.php

has a free sample and you guys can try it yourselves. It's fast and very relaxing. Tonight I'll be using this as a preliminary into obe and will keep this forum posted.

P.S. No, im not a spokesperson for the site, i promise. i just really liked the sample.  :-D I think this particular invention is the underdog of AP and deserves more exposure.

It works! Trust me. Or dont. But i'm still right.

mornin' ya'll!!!

panthau, i think if you just focus on the exhale its easier. if you focus on the entire breath it'll become more like a meditation instead of a 'fall' into sleep. does that help? or just try both and see what works for you

stimpy, hmm, it should be the same breath as your sleeping breath.  a string of consciousness...but mostly natural caz too much consciousness will keep you up.

hey realisation, that's a good one.  ive done lots of techniques but now i wanna practice remaining conscious through the entire sleep paralysis so there's no black out.  I hate black outs!!!!  :x I just wanna go straight to the nitty gritty!!!!

Here's something that worked for me the 1st time I did it.  It's nothing grand or spectacular but it is richly rewarding and can become a practice in other activities as well.   :-D

Step One:
I don't know about you guys but I hate 'trying' to relax.  Too much time and energy to try and force what you do naturally every night. So just pretend to go sleep.  Don't think about.  Just literally go to sleep.  Your body has to actually believe its nitey-nite time

Step Two:
Focus on the exhale breath like your life depends on it.  You of course know of the 'sinking' sensations and it'll quickly bring you right into the trance state....but even more importantly by focusing on the exhale you are directing your consciousness to a single point which is the key to getting out.  It's almost like hiding from the brain so it thinks you're asleep.  Everything should fade out as you focus on the exhale ONLY. The exhale is powerful because its where everything in the body and mind relaxes a step further. So keep on...

Step Three:
(Optional) Either you'll fall asleep, which i did the first night, but I woke up on the side of my bed, consciously out of body.
Or
You'll enter a deep hypagnonic state where you can just 'WILL' yourself out.  Sometimes I'll just listen to the highpitched noise in my head and this will trigger the vibrations for me.  Then I say 'up up up' or 'out out out' and bump my astral head on the ceiling.

Step Four:
Practice.  You WILL get out of your body.  Simplicity is always best.

Have fun!
