person,

what did your father do or not do that would cause you to label him "weak"?
#2
the buzzing is way further than i usually get, so yeah, looks like you're doing something right. i don't try to AP much lately but do meditate (semi) regularly.
#3
the heart chakra is in your sternum area, so focus attention there, sort of inside your body. if you wanted to energize your 3rd eye you would focus awareness at your brow. If you're awaiting a shot in the arm, your awareness is flowing to that place on your arm or if someone said, focus awareness on your big toe on your left foot, you could do that, right? so do the same with the chakras.  if you need a visualization, imagine the chakra as a ball of light or a little tiny spinning galaxy or something. again, it doesn't matter what, as long as the energy of awareness is flowing to that particular spot.

you're thinking too hard about it. While you're breathing normally, focus your attention on whichever chakra you want to energize and imagine feeling your breath moving in and out of that chakra.

i think it's the focusing of attention that does it, the breathing being a constant on which to sort of anchor one's focus.

don't get hung up on technique, just put in the practice/meditation time.

When meditating or practicing relaxation, watch your breath, but imagine yourself breathing in and out of your heart chakra, or whatever chakra you want to energize.

Well.... so who were those people? a family of ghosts living in the house? Shouldn't the Mom have been a little more freaked out that there was a strange man approaching her daughter in her ghost house?

Welcome to Astral Chat! / gettin' yo trance on
March 11, 2004, 15:45:53
Can anyone recommend a method for achieving trance besides the various falling sensation technigues as described in Astral Dynamics? Those work for me up to a point but I can't seem to get deeper.

the other day i found that i got pretty deep focusing on my heart beat but then wondered if focusing on part of my phyisical body would be counter-productive to an OBE.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / wierd question
January 15, 2004, 21:58:27
Would it be at all possible to project into one' s own chakras? If you did, what would be in there?
#10
Yesterday while in deep meditation I decided to stimulate my chakras. Energy was flowing pretty heavily and i was experiencing some very wierd sensations but not quite in trance.

When I focused on my base chakra a feeling of dread and panic began to arise inside me. Needless to say, I quit and just sort of hung out for a while. I returned attention to the base chakra a few minutes later and felt the same thing.

What's going on here, any clues? speculation?

i have felt similar feelings when I first did hash and when i went through a period of depression and panic attacks  a few years a ago. I don't do drugs anymore and haven't had those panic type symptoms for years.

I'm assuming a dead atheist would go to a place in the Belief System Territories that looked very much like earth. But wouldn't they, at some point, think,"Hmm, this looks real 'n' all that but there's just something not quite right here."

Would they think it was some dream? Would they have the consciousness to question their surroundings?

My Dad is pretty much an atheists so I'm just wondering where he'll end up once his physical self dies.

when people mention "energy raising" are they simply talking about energizing the chakras or something else, or lotsa different things?

also, what does N. E. W. stand for?

I was reading in another post about "The Guardian of the Threshold" or Shadow Self, an entity created from one's own negative thinking that you must deal with before being able to access higher realms of existence. It can manifest in human form or any form that represents your prevalent negative thinking. the post described having to clean up one's karma (getting rid of negative thinking patterns: fear, ander, etc.) in order to minimize the entities power, thus granting you access to the Astral or wherever.

Has anyone had contact with such a thing? And have any of you experienced projectors/phasors found that you had to do some sort of karmic housecleaning before being able to Project or Phase?

try turning off the internal dialogue during the day while doing mundane tasks, like driving, concentrate on just looking, taking care not  to internally comment on or judge what you see. As this state comes to feel more like a natural way of being, perhaps it will be easier to to access it during OBE attempts. I've got ten pretty good at it, but now catch myself falling asleep because my body is conditioned to associate mind/body relaxation with sleepy time.

Although I have 0 experience from which to advise you , I wouldn't be so quick to label the man you saw as a neg or the experience as bad. certainly the paralysis is scary (i've experienced that at least) but nothing overtly bad happened during your encounter with the man. I'm wondering since you experience OBE's spontaneously, perhaps a higher aspect of yourself is causing this in order for you to explore the experience and learn.

Since you're there stuck in paralysis, you might as well  explore the experience in a calm objective manner instead of freaking out and trying to fight it, which doesn't seem to be helping you anyway. i know it is difficult to just NOT be scared, but maybe you could try dealing with it in a different way next time.

Good Luck.

Dearest Kuja,

You sir, are an idiot.

Perhaps you should think about re-attending elementary school, where they teach neat stuff like punctuation and grammar.

Creating your own reality means also attracting people and circumstances into your life, and implies being able to manipulate your physical surroundings. so while you are attracting these people and circumstances, and changing actual matter as well,  your presence in their life must be serving some purpose for them as well. When you extrapolate this pattern out to all the inerconnections of people and circumstances, it would be impossible to coordinate it all (God or Spirit, Whatever, being the supreme Coordinator) with only one reality for all of us to work with.  Someone's agenda of having a hot dry summer conflicts with a farmer's wish to have plenty of rain, for instance.

It makes more sense to me that there are infinite copies of me, you, and everything else that we can interact with.

I really like the idea of creating your own reality, but it simply seems physically impossible given that there are other cosciousnesses manipulating reality as well.

I know I'm being very literal but without there being some way to explain the process, it might as well be metaphysical wishful thinking.

when thelou said,  "My emotions and state of mind seem to correspond with which one I am living in at any given day," it reminded me of the notion that "you create your own reality" But the implication that I can change my physical reality and therefore change everyone else's around me is bothersome to the reasoning side of my mind.

It makes more sense to me the way thelou describes it, that we move into existing realities which fit our beliefs, positive or negative attitudes, etc. rather than "creating' them.

I wouldn't be so sure the grandmotherly woman is your girlfriend's guide. If so, why was she so adamant about you not being there? I'd test the heck outta that grandma before I started trusting her as my guide.

Welcome to Astral Chat! / Procrasti...

I was wondering if i would get a reply to my long-winded, preachy post.[:D]

The ego will start up it's crap with me in the form of whining, woe-is-me kinds of comments and excuses. the trick is to begin noticing these tactics so you can avoid getting taken along for the ride.

When I catch it in the act I immediately throw up a mental roadblock to it's comments and follow up with "Shut the #@!!! up" or something similar. This is pretty effective, you just have to train yourself to be vigilant in recognizing the ego in action and then shutting it down.

Once it is shut down, don't continue to confront it, focus completely on the task you want to complete. it may pop up again, just give it another mental right hook and re-focus

I think trying to work on the ego wouldn't get you very far and would  end up in more frustration. you'll never be rid of it completely. You can limit the time you spend listening to it, however, which will get you where you want to go anyway.

there's a great book called "Taming Your Gremlin" you might want to check out.

Not to oversimplify or sound like a know-it-all but I think it's pretty simple.

Fear. You don't want to follow through with something because it might turn out to be a piece of excrement. Or at least it's not living up to the fantasy version of it that's in your head, so you allow yourself to be content daydreaming about it. In my case, having much practice being in fantasy-land and not in "now" land has caused me to misplace things, forget important details, and generally do a half-butt job in the taking care of business department of life and in the execution of creative endeavors.

But, sitting down and committing to a creative project can be pretty terrifying. It's an invitation to success or failure. And your good buddy, ego, will do everything in it's power to keep you from feeling failure to the point that it will use any and all excuses/procrastination tools at it's disposal (internet porn, anyone?). It feels it's in your best interest to just not work on that silly project at all. The ego is a bad bad man. He is NOT your friend.

When you finally buckle down and commit something to paper or tape or pixels it's a giant step. Getting a reasonable facsimile of that perfect idea to manifest in the physical is a grump.

But you have to do it. don't waste your time waiting for inspiration or wait for it to feel fun. And of course it feels strange and awkward, it's unknown territory, there are no maps. You're making it up as you go along.

But that's the cool thing about it too. Your're creating a completely new thing.

I'm sorry but you're going to have to ignore your emotions/mood/lack of inspiration and just do what you gotta do, even if you don't feel like it. and the urge to procrastinate will probably never go away. You just have to practice tuning out that voice, and focus on your business.

I also sensed you throwing a bit of a pity party for yourself. Although that's attractive and feels good in a sick sort of way (I have hosted many), eventually you'll get tired of that too. Don't be a victim.

Thus sayeth The Sucker of Goats. Amen.

Oh yeah. if you ever build a Procrasto-Zapper like gamer666 suggested, send me the plans.
