#2
Yeah I Figured it out FINALLY!!!! I can't beleive it this entire time it was the Stupid Norton Personal Firewall, I went into the settings of it and clicked on "Ad Blocking" it said it was turned on so I clicked on it and clicked on "Configure" and then I saw that it said "Pop-Up Window Blocking" is ON so I unchecked the box and clicked apply so now everything is working OK now, so I am Happy!!!  :D  :D  :D  :D

Yeah Naiad780, I know what you mean, I go to another website and I had my Profile Settings set so when I get a reply from a topic that I am watching, I will not get a E-Mail notification, and I got one, so it is odd.

Edit: Let me guess Naiad780, another problem on this site that occures, that you might have, (I know that I do) is that you check the box that says "Log me in automatically each visit" and it never logs you in, you have to do it manually. Well it sure is a good thing that I have Norton Password Manager installed on my computer, so that way it fills in my "Username" and "Password" for me, and is all I have to do is hit "Submit"
#5
QuoteThe link at the bottom of the thread says "Stop watching this topic"
The link you are reffering to at the bottom of the page lets you watch topic on this site, to see them you simply click on the "Watched Topics" link at the top of the page above the "Profile" link and they will be in there. As for your e-mail notifications, I do not know anyting about it, or why it will not work, as I have had the option in my profile set a while back, and it worked fine for me, but I no longer have the option set, so I do not know what else to tell you, sorry :(

QuoteWell if it was your popup blocker a message at the top would appear saying it has blocked the popup. Try using another browser like Mozilla, or make sure you have the latest IE from the Microsoft update website.
I get no message at the top of my screen saying that the Pop-Up has been blocked, so I don't know what the deal is. As for switching browser, I have done so, I already installed and un-installed Mozilla Fire Fox 1.0 and I do have the updated version of Internet Explorer. I have Internet Explorer 6.0, and I have Service Pack 2(XP SP2) Installed as well.

QuoteTry disabling your popup blocker under tools > Pop-up Blocker. Then goto this website http://javascript.internet.com/page-details/smart-popup.html a popup should appear.
Yeah I have done that already and I still get no Pop-Up Window at all. I have also went to the website you gave above, and I got NO Pop-Up Window, unless you mean I was suppose to scroll my mouse over the text on the site and then I would get a Pop-Up Window, if so then yes I did get a Pop-Up Window.

QuoteIf that doesn't work you could try scanning your computer for a virus I recommend Trend Micro House-call its a free on-line virus scanner, which can be found at http://housecall.trendmicro.com/housecall/start_corp.asp
I already have Norton on my computer, and nothing is wrong with it, I have already done a Anti-Virus scan and it turned up nothing, so I have no viruses.

QuoteWell if either of these don't work for you i guess your going to have to read your private messages the old fashion way.
Yeah either that or I will just throw this piece if sh** computer of mine away, I have not even had this computer for a year and have had lots of problems with it. As I have stated before, I just do not understand why my computer seems to the only computer in my house that the Pop-Up Window will not work on, but every other computer in my house it works just fine. I also think that the Java script is screwed up or something, because I go to a car website to look at the Exterior pictures and I click on a image to get it to show up bigger and the image will not show up as the larger version, but again on every other computer in my house it works fine on. I hate computers, there is always something wrong with them, it seems to be like one thing after another, non-stop.
#7
My Browser has nothing to do with it, because everyone in my house uses Windows XP Professional. I just don't get what the deal is with this Pop-Up Blocker, I mean I have even followed these instructions from this site and it still does not work. http://www.naplestech.com/pages/sp2_article.htm

I just do not understand why my computer seems to the only computer in my house that the Pop-Up Window will not work on, but every other computer in my house it works just fine.
#8
Can someone please send me a Private Message so I can see if installing Mozilla FireFox 1.0 will allow the Pop-Ups or not?
#9
I have my Profile Settings set, so when I get a new Private Message I will get a Pop-Up Window, but unfortidently, it has never worked on this site, I have no clue as to why it will not work. I do have a Pop-Up Blocker(The only pop up blocker I use is the one that comes with XP SP2.) on my computer, and I have this site added to the allow list, and it still blockes the Pop-Up Window for new Private Messages, now this is not the only site that I have had this problem with, I have gone on other websites and I have the same problem. For some unknown reason, My Computer seems to be the only computer in my house that blocks the Pop-Up Window for new Private Messages, and on every other computer in my house it seems to work just fine on. :x  Does anyone know of anything I can do to get it to work?

Welcome to Dreams! / My Lucid Dream Experience!!!!
January 30, 2005, 00:12:52
I know that I had one the other day ago, it sure was cool, I could for once actually control what I did in my dream. This is the first time I have ever had one. I sure would like to have another as that was fun being able to control my dream like that!!!  (This has all happened weeks, and almost a moth ago, so it is old, but I still thought that I would share it.) I must say that after my first experience, I have had lots of Lucid Dreams, and I really enjoy them. :) Anyone else have any other Lucid Dreams that they would like to share, I would be glad to hear them.

My Lucid Dream Experience:
Well is how it started out, well this is really all I can remember, is that I was out in the desert walking down a wall, or a Pyramid, then all the sudden I was sliding down it out of control, then I fell, but I landed on my feet, then these 3 guys were chasing me, why they were I have no clue as to why, but I ran from them, then after I got far enough away, well I simply did what Neo did from the Matrix, I flew away, then after that I woke up, it sure was weird though. That is all I can remember, I wish I could remember more.  I bet I could once I get in better rapport with my subconscious, so I can a have a better memory.  I sure do wish I could change the ending as I think it sucks is what I would really like to do is alter it by doing what this lady does in her dream, which is confront those who are chasing me and ask why they are doing so. I mean after all I believe that dreams tell us things about our waking life.

"After many recurring nightmares where I'm pursued by some terrifying figure, I learned of lucid dreaming and had the following dream: 'I'm in a frantic car chase with the pursuer right behind me. Swerving into a parking lot, I bolt out of the car and run with him hot on my heels. Suddenly, the scene seems familiar and I realize that I'm dreaming, though the lot and trees still seem more real than ever. Drawing upon every ounce of courage that I have, I swirl to face my pursuer, repeating to myself that it's only a dream. Still afraid, I scream at him, "You can't hurt me!" He stops, looking surprised. For the first time I see his beautiful, loving eyes. "Hurt You?" he says. "I don't want to hurt you. I've been running after you all this time to tell you that I love you!" With that, he holds out his hands, and as I touch them, he dissolves into me. I awake filled with energy, feeling great for days.' Not only did the nightmare never return, but more importantly, I now find myself much better at facing unpleasant situations at work and in my personal life. Following what I learned in the dream, I'm much better at standing my ground and expressing my feelings when needed and appropriate, whereas before I would usually avoid or run from such situations."

Well for those of you who do not know what a Lucid dream(Who on this site doesn't.......lol) is, here is what it is. Lucid Dreaming is knowing that you are dreaming while you are doing it. When you know that you are dreaming, you can also alter the dream course. And with practice you can also develop full control over your dream, you will be able to create and change the environment and change your own appearance. It will be you that are in control of the dream scenario. You can do whatever you want to do.

Welcome to Dreams! / lucid whilst unconcious?
December 23, 2004, 15:55:34
Well Bullyfish, Lucid Dreaming is knowing that you are dreaming while you are doing it. When you know that you are dreaming, you can also alter the dream course. And with practice you can also develop full control over your dream, you will be able to create and change the environment and change your own appearance. It will be you that are in control of the dream scenario. You can do whatever you want to do. The word Lucid means that you have a clear and full consciousness.

Well Laiana, interesting dream. In your dream, you stated:

QuoteThe dream was evil, and scary, and horrifying.

QuoteI got in my car and drove away feeling evil things chasing me. Somehow I ended up at a park and there was this ball - literally a ball, but it was evil, evil energy and it was going to do something horrible to me.

Laiana, you may want to take this into consideration, as I have said on this site before,

"The point behind the majority of remembered dreams is to show us something we're not consciously aware of or acting upon. A very powerful way to understand the dream and bring about its goal is this:

1) What feelings does it bring about within me in the dream and how do I experience or react to this? Find the feeling in your body and then ask yourself where does this same feeling appear in my waking life (especially in the day or few days preceding the dream). This then gives you insight about what the dream is speaking about. Then you can ask yourself, "How do I experience or react to this in waking life? And what new information might the dream be trying to give me?"
2) What choices or actions within my life does this dream affect or bring about?
3) Is this my best scenario or would I prefer a different ending that makes me feel freer/happier/more empowered? What is the best ending you can think of?
4) If you have decided upon a new, more positive ending, sit quietly before bed and visualize the dream but with the new ending."

Laiana, here are some of the most common themes (with positive outcome examples for each scenario) and suggestions about what the dreamer might look at in waking life:

chase or attack : The pursuer usually represents a fearful aspect of our shadow, and hence an exaggerated version of a denied or inhibited portion of our own personality that would benefit us if integrated and appropriately expressed. (ideal outcome: standing our ground, facing and dialoguing with our pursuer, and eventually, acceptance and embrace)

falling dream : Am I feeling heavy, unsupported, worried about something? How can I feel freer, lighter? Also: do I need to be more grounded? (ideal outcome: feeling safe, landing, floating or flying)

car out of control : Is life too hectic, out of control? How could I slow down, act more peacefully and "enjoy the ride"? (ideal outcome: driving well & within speed limits, walking peacefully)

unprepared, late for or failing an exam : Am I feeling unprepared for some upcoming event? Unconfident about my performance? Am I worrying needlessly or do I actually need more preparation in order to feel confident and do a good job? (ideal outcome: feeling assured about oneself, performing well)

stuck in slow motion, unable to move or make any noise : Where am I feeling stuck in life, like I'm getting nowhere or unable to voice my true feelings? What can I do to change it? (ideal outcome: relaxation and acceptance, and eventually, peaceful action & self-expression)

embarrassed to be nude or naked in public, though nobody seems to notice or mind : Where in life am I feeling unconfident, embarrassed, unskilled? This type of dream is usually pointing out, by the fact that the other characters in the dream don't seem to notice, that we are the only one viewing our self this way, and usually mistakenly so. (ideal outcome: comfortable with oneself as is, confident)

personal injury, dismemberment : What part of my life—not usually the physical body—have I been neglecting, mistreating, forgetting—i.e. dis-membering as opposed to remembering? (ideal outcome: healing)

trapped, locked in : Where am I feeling trapped in life? How might I open myself up to a new perspective, and explore new courses of action? (ideal outcome: breaking out, exploration)

drowning, threatening waves, tsunami (tidal waves) or flooding : Am I blocking, denying or feeling overwhelmed by my emotions? How might I better acknowledge, accept, and feel these feelings—which often include vulnerability? (ideal outcome: swimming, surfing, breathing underwater)

helpless, abandoned, or crying baby, monkey, bunny or small animal : Have I been taking care of my "inner child"? Maybe I need to laugh more, play outdoors, express my creativity, be more spontaneous, or enjoy more personal warmth and intimacy? (ideal outcome: caring for baby or animal, playing, simply having fun)

Thereal_yeti, You can do what karnautrahl, Telos, and fost500 said, as those are some good tips on better recalling your dreams. The point behind the majority of remembered dreams is to show us something we're not consciously aware of or acting upon. A very powerful way to understand the dream and bring about its goal is this:

1) What feelings does it bring about within me in the dream and how do I experience or react to this? quote:
Prove to me you exist

Logic this is to you, the believer who poses this question, I can only respond with "I know I exist, but apparently you only believe you exist."

I know I exist because I get knowledge of my existence every second of my conscious life directly from my feelings, perceptions, or thoughts; no belief required. Belief only introduces an unnecessary proposition. I can simply say "I exist," instead of "I believe I exist." My knowledge of existence comes from experience, not belief. The elimination of beliefs, makes our statements more concise, accurate and meaningful.

However, when one only believes in their existence, they automatically reduce their entire life to an abstraction: a belief. In effect, they have put an unnecessary barrier between their minds and the world around them.

You people still think that you can travel outside of your body and go to distant place and such. Well scientist have already triggered a OBE, by using electrodes to stimulate a portion of the right side of the brain.

What is with you people, you think that you can actually control your dreams, what a bunch of nonsese. Look most of you say well when I was half asleep or I was almost asleep this happend or that. Look you are either asleep or not asleep there is no half way or part of the way. You are either conscious or you are unconscious.

The universe is 13.7 billion years old(plus or minus 1 percent)and the first stars appeared 200 million years after the Big Bang, far earlier than most previous estimates. The exact proportions of the contents of the cosmos are:4 perecent normal matter, 23 percent dark matter, and 73 percent dark energy. These figures indicate that the universe is flat and will most likely continue to expand forever.

Does anyone know of any techniques that I can try that have helped any of you out that I can try? What is a lucid dream? What is the difference between astral travel and an OBE? Are OBE's real or fake? What is it like to have an OBE? When is the best time of day to have an OBE? When you relax all of your muscles in your body do you have to lay on your back or can you lay in any position that you are confortable in? Does anyone know of any relaxation techniques that I can try, that will help me relax my body?

Any Info would be very helpful
Thanks

Giselle Said:

"I wonder if the bumble bee flies because it believes it can...or if it believes it can fly because it does."

Well Giselle I wonder if a frog had wings would it bump its a** every timed it hopped? If a worm had a machine gun do you think birds would F***with it? I say that I agree with Beyonder[^].
#20
Yeah so that is what is wrong with all of us humans we all have brain damage from a illness, that allows us to stand or walk upright.

Just Joking[:D]

Indeed Beyonder, Science one day will.

On the contrary Nay, It certainly would constitute circular reasoning if my writing represented my beliefs. However, I own no beliefs. I may make statements of either fact (supported by evidence), observation, speculation, imagination, or desire, but I do not state, nor do I claim any belief. Furthermore, all my statements lay open to revision and change depending on the reliability of further evidence; none of them attempt to establish absolute "truths." At no point do I call to make fun of or as you call it have "Beef" with anyone or of any idea or belief that anyone may have on this forum or site. People have the inalienable right to believe or not believe whatever they wish, regardless of how silly or unworkable their beliefs. I(at least this freethinker)have the capability to protect myself from dangerous ideas.

This question was to Logic not to Bevis and James S. So Logic If you are not a Christain then let me guess you are an Athiest right? Well Logic is all that I can say is that I have never called myself an atheist, nor do I honor that label. There occurs many forms of atheism, some of which rely on faith or belief. I do not wish to attach a label that misleads, nor do I find it useful to title any one particular disbelief. I have an infinite number of unbeliefs, including disbeliefs in fairies, goblins, and ghosts. However, if you wish to know my position relative to atheism, I stand about as far from atheism as an atheist to a theist. But if you persist in painting me in a way which makes it convenient for you to disagree with me, then you have only fostered your own ignorance. You can fool yourself if you wish, but you'll only prevent yourself from understanding other people's point of view. Also Logic if you tell me that I hate Christains and God well how can someone possibly hate something for which they have no belief in? I have no reason to hate an alleged god any more than I do Zeus or Captain Hook. Nor do I hate Christians, and although I feel sorry for them, most of my friends describe themselves as Christian. Most of my friends tell me that without religion my life cannont have value, although religion which promotes eternal life tends to create a valueless life. Value relates to limits of time and amount. Just as if diamonds became abundant, their value would decrease, eternal lives would also lose their value. A valued life must have limits. Observe people who come close to death or experience a tragedy. Their lives become more precious as a result of learning of their own fragility and mortality. A life believed to go on forever loses its meaning in a sea of infinity. Note that religions have (and still do) promote wars and killings based on beliefs of an eternal judgement of God. The Bible teaches to dismiss the life of earth for the rewards in heaven. I cannot imagine a more bankrupt form of morality. But as a disbeliever I have appreciated in value from the uncertainties of life. What fantastic and contingent luck to live even a short life as a conscious animal in this universe!

So Nay, in this Astral World or whatever you want to call it, can you met others in it like say for example You or even others on this forum, or is that not possible?
