Yes, that's what I also think of my experience looking back on it now. I really don't think it was evil in nature at all. Of course, that wasn't my thinking at the time, but I believe it basically was just saying, not now, or at least that's what I choose to believe. Although it's comforting to know that pretty much the same thing happened to someone else, I'm sorry that it freaked you out, but it did me too at the time.

I am well aware of the fact there is nothing to fear but fear itself. It's just a little easier said than done! I just have to work it all out in my head and the more I do so the stronger I will feel. I used to have anxiety attacks everyday years ago, and now I'll have maybe one a year and I dealt with it purely through the power of my mind, no prescription pills(I hate to even take tylenol). So I truly believe in the power of the mind and I'm hoping to apply the same tactics with my obe's.

Also, I love reading about everyone else's experiences here and it's really getting me excited! I'm also very curious about my visitor and would love to know if he's my spirit guide or someone watching over me. In fact, the curiosity is getting stronger than my fear and so I'm hoping the next time I post, it will be about an awesome obe I've had!!!

In my other encounters, I did not feel threatened at all. The two times I heard a voice, it was quite pleasant sounding and sounded the same both times so I think it was the same being both times. Once he said, "Hey Visitor" and the other time he said " Hello". unfortunately, I didn't say anything back both times. And there was one time I actually saw a being! I was going into an oobe and I got halfway out when I turned my head and I saw this man sitting in my chair! My vision was kinda fuzzy so I didn't get a good look at his face, but he didn't move nor did he speak, but in my mind he felt very familiar and the name of an uncle of mine went through my mind. I don't know why I thought of my uncle's name cause he was alive then and he still is. Maybe this man was connected to my uncle somehow or something, i just don't know cause that particular oobe was very short. I pretty much just had enough time to see him sit there and it then it was over.

Until I gather enough courage to actually explore and ask questions when I have an oobe, my questions will remain unanswered. It's actually bittersweet because although I can have an oobe whenever I wish, I don't because I'm afraid. And the oobe's that are spontaneous I bring to an end before I can even exit my body because of the same reason I just mentioned. I know I have nothing to fear but fear itself, but it's kinda hard to get over that. I am currently trying to rationalize everything in my mind and prepare myself for a future oobe, but I'm not sure how long that will take. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!  I would love to know who this being is that I had encountered before and what his message might be for me!!!

My very first oobe was very frightening as I'm sure most people's first oobe is. It occured about six years ago, but I remember every detail as if it happened today. On that particular day I was taking a nap because I had my first child 3 months prior, so naturally when he slept, so did I!! So, like I said, I had laid down to take a nap and the next thing I know, my hair is being pulled and I believed this is what caused me to become aware of my astral self. I believe this to be so because after I felt my hair being pulled, I found myself to be facing the ceiling, with my physical body still laying on its stomach. Naturally I didn't know what was going on as this had never happened to me before, so I start to raise my arms and my hands are met by a man's hands. Now, I know it to be a man because while I did not see him, his hands were quite bigger than mine and had a firm grip, but not hurtful or menacing at all. Anyway, his hands met mine and he slowly forced my arms down and as he did I turned my head and started hearing a slow rythmic breathing very close to me, so I instantly panicked and I just prayed for the whole thing to stop because I had instantly thought that this was some version of the Hag Syndrome at the time. Eventually I did find myself back in my body although it took awhile to be able to move again. 

That first oobe took some time to get over as it really terrified me to no end, but I thought about it alot and come to some conclusions. First, I had pulled my hair in my sleep instead of some entity as I originally thought. I fell asleep with my arm wrapped around my head with my hand resting at the top of my head where I felt my hair pulled. Secondly, I now believe that the man I felt was not threatening at all, unlike I thought at the time. I think this is so because I believe I had encountered him in other oobe's, and in those experiences(which I will write about later), his presence was rather nice as was his voice.  I think in the first oobe, with him putting my arms down, was his way of protecting me, from myself or his way of letting me know it wasn't the right time for me to be 'out' yet.
