I have astral projected a hand full of times, but I have never felt this.  The other day I was attempting to project. I had been practicing for about 45 minutes. I remember clicking out and then waking up again with my eyes closed. I then focused on mental ovement of my astral arms. Then I heard what sounded like a liquid metal, and then the earth started shaking! I mean it was a violent shake! And then everything. Stopped, I couldn't get out. Are those kind of vibrations normal? I was holding a piece of Moldavite crystal. Could this have changed the way I experience projection?

The elements of the dream were nice though. I remember on that flying scene, it felt really real. It felt like it did during my previous projection experiences. I miss projecting so much! Since I have been working graveyard shifts I haven't projected at all! Can anyone help with this?

So while attempting to sleep and not doing it successfully, I practiced observing my awareness.  After about 30 minutes of this I began to bathe myself in white light.  I did this for about 10 minutes.  That's when I began to see flashing colors and vibrant lights under my closed eye lids.  After feeling sensations of mid air cartwheels, I clicked out.  Now I know I was dreaming, but I definitely feel that I might have been projecting but not aware of it.  My first clue was in my dream, I was at work.  It was late at night.  I was walking outside when I saw a kid in the distance.  He pulled out a firework and aimed it at a bunch of dry trees.  Seeing this I immediately took off flying after the kid yelling no! But I couldn't fly quite right.  It's like I didn't have enough energy.  In the middle of taking flight my dream flashed to another scene where I'm in my house.  I'm at the patio where both of my kittens are staring at me.  I noticed that it was really dark so I tried to flip the light switch next to the glass door.  But the switch didn't work!  I then tried all the switches and noticed that they were all broken.  With that thought I woke up and realized I was dreaming.  But I do remember a long time ago hearing that you can't flip light switches on/off while dreaming.  Does anyone know why that is?  Also, does anyone think I was projecting but not aware of it?

Hey does anyone have advice on what to do with a toddler who's seeing ghost in the house and can't sleep? He can't communicate really well yet, so I can't explain anything to him about spiritual entities.

Many people travel to far away planets and galaxies but has anyone traveled to the center of the earth?  I have a feeling we don't hear of this as much, because it's not something that our brains can get accustomed to very easily.  Either way I'm very curious.

The first time I had an out of body experience it was beyond exciting and frightening at the same time.  I was wondering if one of my exit sensations were this typically intense?? The moment between hearing the vibrations (which sounded like a jet engine blaring in my ear) and feeling them full on, I felt the sensation of flying upward.  However, this feeling felt like I was seriously sitting on a rocket propelled seat going faster than the fastest rollercoaster I have ever been on!  I was seriously about to lose it, and then I felt the vibrations.  Is this typical or was my exit sensation more intense than usual?

be careful with signposts (vibes, etc.)

they aren't always "accurate"

but you're close.

you'll know when the time is right.

Just what he said :)  All of those signs are actually just experiences while in the deep alpha/theta trance.  I've felt those sensations up to 20 minutes and nothing happened.  However I did enjoy the experience and so should you.

The very first time I projected was after 2 months of solid practice, and than one night I decided to just sleep.  That was the night I projected!  Sometimes when we relax and let things be... well LOL they be.

I just happened to download some magic eye puzzles and practiced.  I am now able to see any that I look at but the biggest surprise is I actually lucid dreamed yesterday.  I haven't done that in 2 years!  I did notice that I was able to focus more after decoding all of those magic eye posters.  Now I tried to get back to my body while lucid dreaming but I guess my consciousness didn't have enough energy.  I ended up losing focus and it quickly fell into a dream again.  I will project soon though, I can feel it!

I remember listening to a projector on youtube and he said practicing with Magic eye puzzles can strengthen you third eye.  If you become really good at them you can open up your third eye at will.  Now that's interesting, what's your take on that?  I know some people are really good with those pictures but I guess you can still improve your third eye sight as well.

So last night before bed I started to talk to myself.  Now that sounds funny I know but bare with me.  The things I was saying to myself seemed to come from another intelligence other than myself.  Anyway finally I told myself to finally go to bed and meditate.  In my head the voice continued and it said to focus with all of your being, everything that is inside you.  Now I started to feel a very strong trance state coming on, but I was tired and wanted to sleep.  The voice than said you are going to miss out big if you sleep instead of continuing your focus and meditation.  Well I didn't listen, I slept instead.  Now in my dream I was being haunted by a ghost.  And in my dream I was laying down and the ghost started to talk to me, but I couldn't understand what was being said.  Then all of sudden I started to float, and lift off from the bed in my dream.  It started off slow and than I begin to travel with a burst of speed.  Than I woke up!  Now that was weird.  I wonder if I would have projected or was that really my higher self trying to communicate with me.

I went to the local spiritual store and they recommended that I buy Moldavite crystal.  I can say based on what I have experienced so far this is no ordinary crystal!  Several places in my body are just twitching and throbing at random times.  Has anyone here tried to project or meditate with them?

Hello everybody, it's so good to be back on this wonderful forum.  I am troubled and I'm seeking some guidance.  I have not astral projected in 3 years.  It's really frustrating because by far it was one of the most exciting things I have ever experienced!  I think the leading cause for my projection drought is my job.  I work graveyard and I don't think I have established a true sleeping schedule.  When I meditate during the day I fall asleep.  When I attempt to project... I fall asleep. Can anyone help?  There has been times where I have gotten close to vibrations but they don't last and before I know it, I'm asleep.  So I'm all ears for you fortunate projectors out there ;)

Your post made me laugh because it reminded me of the first time I had my OBE.  I described it to people as "it was as if a jet engine had landed in my ear blaring loudly!"  Oh yes, this world is more than we think huh?  Isn't it beautiful!  The average person would look at you and tell you you're nuts!  LOL!

Does anyone find it hard to practice astral projection or even meditate while you're in a severely depressed or emotional state?  Last night I had a small fight with my girlfriend and I found I could not meditate, practice ap or even sleep for that matter.  How do you concentrate under moments of heightened emotional stress?

Hi there!  In my experience hypnosis was definitely one of the tools that got me to relax my body more than I ever had.  It one time induced an outer body experience!  I recommend hypnosis just as much as any of the other fine aids out there.

I'm sorry but I actually find this little debate between these two forums entertaining.  I don't want to fuel the argument, but all I want to say is "silver cord!"  I never remember anybody experiencing the silver cord in dreams or lucid dreams for that matter.  So what would explain that phenom?  Great job guys, I love this website and forum!  Astral projection has forever changed my life!  All of my passwords have ap in them, I will get a tattoo of it and I think of my very first experience every day!  To me OBE's is the most incredible thing any human can experience on earth, especially flying in the RTZ!  :-o

So I have experienced the wonderful sensations of astral projecting, both through phasing and the classical OBE. When I was first learning how to project however, I found myself loosing concentration very easily and thereby falling to sleep.  It was always frustrating for me, so I invented the movie visualization technique.  Basically what I do is I get into a deep trance (more than likely deep alpha), then I remember one of my favorite movies.  I start from the beginning and I try to remember, with perfection, at least 20 minutes of the movie.  The first time I tried this technique I was so amazed with it's effectiveness!  After 20 minutes of playing this movie in my head, I would then take a break and look at the blackness behind my closed eye lids.  To my amazement I would no longer have any sensation of my body, and then if I held on to my consciousness for at least another 5 minutes, I would see the hypnogogic images.  I would follow that until I start to either:
A. Feel the vibrations or get symptoms of OBE exit sensations.
B. I feel a shift of consciousness and start to phase.
C. :( I fall asleep LOL
That's it!  So for everybody with a block in the middle of their A.P practice, give this a whirl and tell me what you think.  If I need to be more clear with my technique, just let me know.

Happy Journeys!

Hello Luke!

I understand your frustration.  When I first learned about astral projection, at first I didn't even believe it was real!  I thought everybody on these forums had got a hold of some good pot or that they were suffering from some delusions of some sort.  I couldn't help my curiosity though!  I had to know if it was real.  Night after night, after night I practiced.  As soon as I got home from work I would lay down, and start the astral projection techniques.  For a whole month straight, I experienced absolutely nothing!  I was just about to give up but something told me to keep trying, so I did.  The very next night I actually felt my astral arms waving back and forth.  I knew it was my astral arms because I had the sensation that both of my arms were waving in the air but when I opened my eyes both of my hands were still down by my sides.  I got so excited I told myself I will never give up.  After witnessing that I knew everybody was telling the truth and it was real.  A month later I astral projected and it was on a night I decided not to practice!

So my advice for you is to calm down and release your frustration.  Know for a fact that you will eventually do it!  Your not sure when but you know that it will be accomplished.  Trust me buddy it is worth every second that you practice!  It is by far the greatest human experience IMO.

Now I want you to try something.  Are you ready?  Go back to the first time you kissed.  Was it a sunny day or was it at night?  Was it warm outside?  Did you have butterflies in your stomach?  Think of Vanilla Ice cream in a bowl, with Hershey's Chocolate syrup smothered on top, with nuts of your choice sprinkled on top, and a cherry laying on top of it all.

Now if you remembered your first kiss or if you were able to think of that Chocolate Sunday and it was accompanied with images, my friend that was visualization.  Visualization is very easy, people just over complicate it.  When I close my eyes, all I ever see is a blank screen with sometimes swirling colors.  But when I use the same mechanism I use to remember things like dates, events, movies, images... I'm using visualization.  That's it.  So chances are you are visualizing fine.  The more you practice, the stronger it gets.  Happy practicing.
