Unfortunately, there's about 700 miles between me and my girlfriend and her son, but I'm trying to help him as much as I can. Because it's a long distance deal, I was just wondering if there were things for him to study when I am not there.

The lucid dreaming is fairly easy to teach. I bought him a dream log which he has been keeping diligently, and the next time I see him I will help him start analyzing his dreams, and we will work on reality checks.

Last time I saw him, he started talking about having sleepovers at his friends house and having the exact same dreams as his friend, and after some questioning I thought they might have had OBE's, and I told him about them, what they were, and such. And he wanted to learn more about them. Perhaps I could give him the Steve G. Jones audio? That seems fairly easy to comprehend.

My girlfriends 8yo son has been telling me about OBE's and lucid dreams he's been having, and he's dying to learn more about them. Is anybody aware of study material specifically for children?

I've recently found the Steve G. Jones (licensed hypnotherapist) course and started experimenting with it. The number of lucid dreams I'm having are increasing and I have had two OOBE's. They happened somewhat by accident, where I was coming out of a nap, and I started feeling the vibrations. In other words, more luck than wisdom, as I did not induce the vibrations by will. Separation also just kinda happens, although I found it helpful to just ask the question "Please help me separate."

After separation, I leave my room, go through the wall and bolt. I have tried to slow down and turn around, because I really wanted to see my physical body laying in bed, or just my neighborhood. To no prevail. Instead, I just "go", with no control over where I'm going.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this?

The concept of "Mind Awake - Body Asleep" is eluding me at bit. Could anybody describe what it would feel like? Do you still feel your body, when it itches and such? Or is it like sleep paralysis?

The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind for me. I had my first lucid dream about 3-4 weeks ago, and I've had almost daily experiences since. I've experienced different levels of lucidity, anywhere from knowing I was dreaming to experimenting within a dream. My dream recall has improved tremendously. I've woken up into sleep paralysis. I've actually fallen back into lucid dreams after waking up into sleep paralysis.

Today, I became lucid enough to realize that I was dreaming, but unfortunately I woke up quickly after becoming lucid. Or so I thought!! I woke up in a bed that wasn't mine and remembered that Reece Jones talked about dreaming within a dream. And that made me realize I was still lucid, but on a different level. I was so happy! But this time, I woke up into sleep paralysis. I knew where I was and how I was laying in bed. So I decided to try and have an OoBE. After some wiggling, it was as if I lifted out of my body feet first, then my legs, and then they rest of my body, except my head/eyes. I was hanging upside down, my hands hanging down and my eyes closed. I felt a very very strong wind as well. I just hung there for a bit, and then I decided I wanted to see what was going on. So I opened my "spiritual" eyes, but this woke my physical body.  I have had several OoBE's and Astral Projections, (but it has been a while (7-8 months)), so I know what they are and how they feel. Is it actually possible to get a OoBE out of sleep paralysis? Or am I trying a wrong method here?

Also, one big stumbling block for me seem to be my eyes. My spiritual eyes seem to be locked with my physical eyes. Does anybody have any suggestions to overcome this?

I wish I could say after a few years of trying and practicing, "I done did it!!", but the fact of the matter is that the lucid dream just happened, without trying. To an extend.

I have the day off today, so I decided to go back to bed and nap for a bit. Before falling asleep, I remember thinking that an OoBE would be great this fine morning, but that was about it. Next thing I know, I'm in sleep paralysis. I am aware of my bed, the AC unit kicking in, but my body is totally relaxed. At first I thought: "Awesome, beginning stages of an OoBE." I have had those before, so I am somewhat familiar. I tried to exit but I wasn't able to. I was afraid that if I pushed myself too much, I would wake up, so I let it go. Why waste good sleep, right?

Next thing I know, I am dreaming. In my dream I am about to do soundcheck with a band I do not play with anymore (and violently so... long story), with band members that never were in the band, whom I conversed in fluent German with. Weird...

Then the AC unit next to my window kicks in. It wakes me up, but not my body. I was aware of my body being totally and utterly limb and relaxed. I just enjoyed the feeling for a bit and dozed off again.

Next thing I know, I am dreaming again. I'm laying on my moms couch, trying to sleep, but she's keeping me awake because she's talking to my brother. She also gives me a birthday present. Well.. I've been keeping dream logs and found patterns in my dreams, one of which is that I cannot possibly be near my mother, as she lives in Europe. So I realized I was dreaming.

Next part of the dream is that I am driving through town, on an errand, knowing full well that I am dreaming. Then it hit me: "I'm in a lucid dream!! Holy crap!!" I almost got too excited and woke myself up, but I was able to contain myself. Second thought: "Now what?" I have been thinking about what to do once I had a lucid dream, and so many things came up that I couldn't decide, but I narrowed it down to three things I wanted to do: Getting a guitar lesson from a famous guitarist, study martial arts, or getting laid. I decided on martial arts, and Qing-Yi Quan, to be exact. As I pull of the interstate, I fill up my Coca Cola bottle by just wishing it (awesome). I then park my car in a strip mall and get out, and I remember that one of the things you do to see if you're dreaming is jumping. In a dream you can float if you wish so. I jumped, and that's when I physically woke up.

I experienced some OBE's (or what I think were OBE's) during the last few months of 2010, but they have ceased to happen. Even though I very much want them to happen, I am pretty much clueless when it comes to techniques, and my only aides were the Monroe CD's, which I've have listened to quite a bit, to no prevail. While having no OBE's in the last two months, I did have a few experiences which I suspect are the beginning stages of Lucid Dreams. I am not sure, hence my post here.

The first two times I was at home. Both were during an afternoon nap, one with and one without the Monroe JotB CD. At some point I just became aware that I was in bed, sleeping. Both times I immediately tried to separate, to no prevail, and that's when I woke up.

So this afternoon, I took a little nap, and again, I became aware of myself laying in bed, on my belly. I tried to separate once again, and this time I was able to lift myself up. At this point I felt the covers slide off my back, and I slid out of bed, onto the floor. All of a sudden I found myself laying in bed yet again, in the same position. I tried to separate once more, but this time I woke up.

I am not sure what I am experiencing. Whenever I become "aware", I know I am in bed, I know my body is asleep, and I am not dreaming. So my gut instinct is to treat these instances as the beginning stages of an OBE. However, I am not sure if these really are OBE's, so therefore I am not sure if I'm doing the right things to make the experience as rich as I can.

Any ideas?

My name is Fred, I am 33 years old, and I am a full-time musician. As such, I ended up with some physical issues for which I started seeing an acupuncturist. After curing my issue I continued seeing him, seeking his guidance and council on many, many things, and about a year and a half ago or so he suggested I'd do some experiments with hypnosis and self hypnosis. Through a musician friend and kindred spirit, who has been doing hypnosis for years, I came across the Gateway Experience, by Robert Monroe. After listening to the first session, the Focus 3 Introduction, I was hooked on binaural beats. I must say I've not been very successful with the Gateway Experience, but nevertheless I did promote the Gateway Experience to certain people.

One day, I am at my acupuncturist's and we are talking about clairvoyance. Even though I have only heard rumors, my late paternal grandmother was said to be clairvoyant. I know for a fact that my sister is clairvoyant, and she knew our father had passed away because his spirit had appeared in her room to tell her goodbye, and to instruct her to take care of my mother. My sister was 12 at the time, I was 13. At any rate, late last year there was an incident where my father appeared, looking over my sister, as she was sleeping. This was witnessed by her fiancee, who obviously freaked out, but nevertheless was able to describe our father to the T, including a faint "tic" he had. His physical appearance, his clothes, everything. He has never met our father. It was this incident that brought up clairvoyance at my acupuncturist's appointment. His reaction to this story was a bit curious, as his reaction amounted to "Well... What on Earth makes you think you do not have these abilities? Just cultivate them a bit more." We have somewhat left it at that, as I have no idea how, and haven't really been able to find out how.

In addition, occasionally, I feel an irresistible urge to make late night trips in my car. Some voice in my head guides me through the middle of nowhere, mainly in rural areas. I ended up trusting this voice, and for some reason, I always safely end up home, without knowing where the heck I went. I've visited graveyards, where I was asked to pray, I've been at chapels, again to pray (I am an atheist, by the way), I've been at civil war sites, one of which I by happenstance found a few months later, and the last time I was driving around in heavy fog when I saw somebody walk. It was about to rain, and for some reason I just HAD to make sure this person was okay. So I turned around and went looking for him, found him, and offered him a ride, which he declined. The "voice" (spooky, right..?) said, "Awesome, you're done, let's go home!"

At this point I must say I met a lady, who is a medium, and with whom I developed a intensely strong bond. We talked about these things happening, and she seems to think I am being abducted by aliens, since apparently many of the things I describe happening are consistent with other accounts of these occurrences. So knowing this, I started communicating with this voice, asking questions and I must add I have cussed him out in no uncertain terms for not letting me in on these things, and erasing my memory. For if I am actually being picked up after being lured away to secluded areas, then my memory must be erased after I am being brought back. My medium friend has suggested that me not having any memories is consistent with some protocol *they* abide by, but whatever. If I'm not supposed to remember, then my well being seems to be of lesser importance to them, which would make me feel somewhat used, so I'm not paying much credence to this. But I must say it lingers in the back of my head, because were this to be true, then this would be more awesome than Star Trek. 

So there's that. Also, at a show I was doing I was introduced to this girl. Now, this happens a lot, I know, but with this particular girl I developed a somewhat curious relationship, as we discovered we are twin flames. We have collective memories, and both our spirits have majorly developed since meeting each other. It's hard to describe, but we "just know". In addition, we found our "spiritual mother": the medium lady. And also our spiritual dad. Again, this in insanely hard to describe, but we "just know". I also know I have a son somewhere, and I have an idea, but I have not had an opportunity to verify this, as of yet.

So all of the above, plus the OBE's and lucid dreams I have been having, as described in another post, in addition to some previous life explorations, pretty much amount up to a big question mark. So many different things are happening that I don't understand. I believe they are connected since they're all metaphysical in nature, but I do not know how. But I'd like to know, which brought me to this forum. If anything, I am thoroughly enjoying myself experiencing and studying this, and as such I suppose I am thankful for having the opportunity to do so.

Even though I am an absolute and utter novice, and as such probably comically useless, I am defiantly going to pass on that if there's ever anything I can do for any of you, please do not hesitate to ask

Oh, before I forget, since this is still me introducing myself, I'd like to add that I find farts to be incredibly funny.

I suppose, whatever it was, I felt great bliss, and therefore it was great.

I do believe something like an OBE occurred. I became very, very aware of my hotel room, where I was (in bed), the position I was laying in, and even what I was dreaming/thinking about. I took my nap mainly because I was tired, to state the blatantly obvious here, but I was secretly hoping for an OBE to occur, since all of my other experiences happened during afternoon naps. I suppose I was in that gray area between being asleep and being awake, and I became very aware of what was on my mind, namely my job, and with that, and how it really doesn't pay all that well  . The thing was, as soon as money entered my mind, I felt a change in awareness. I thought "SWEET!!!", and thought about money with a lot more intent, and *pop*, I was out. It felt as if I dropped out of my back, as I was laying on my left side. I suppose this is what Monroe refers to as the rolling technique?

At any rate I was ecstatic. I heard some thing like an electric toothbrush, and saw my roomie sitting on his bed, brushing his teeth. I bumped into him, which kinda hurt, and then moved on to the door, where I stopped for a second. I thought to myself: "I can go through this wall/door!!" and *plop*, I was in the hallway. I floated, close to the ceiling, towards the foyer, over several children's heads, who were coming out of their room. After that I floated down the steps and past the front desk, where there were people checking in and where the lady saw me. I waved at here, but she just kinda looked at me with indifference. I thought to myself that was somewhat weird, because I was a ghost, so she should be freaking out. Then I went outside, and floated past some bellhops. At that point I felt I had experienced all I could handle, and *pop*, I was wide awake in bed.

My roomie was sleeping, but later on that evening I asked him if he was brushing his teeth in bed, with an electric toothbrush, while I was asleep. He was not. Also, he now thinks I am crazy. I did rush to the front desk, but there was no lady there. There were some children, and some people checking in, but I couldn't recall any faces. And there certainly weren't any bellhops. Also, during my experience, it was summer. Yesterday however, Denver, CO was cold enough for me to stick ice cubes in my pockets to keep my rear end from freezing. Also, there was a Christmas tree in the foyer, which wasn't there during my experience.

So all in all, I'd say the location didn't change at all, it was spot on. I would say though, I was in a different time.

By the way, just to get my lingo right: RTZ= Real Time Zone? What does WILD stand for?

Hi everybody-

I've been experimenting with OBE's for about a year now, and as of lately, I've been getting some results, or what I think are results. I've studied both Robert Monroe and Frank Kepple, in addition to exploring this forum, which I have to say is quite wonderful! However, because of the things I have learned I am not sure whether I am dreaming about and visualizing the things I have read about, or am I actually experiencing OBE's. Chronologically, my experiences have been these (they started about 5 months ago):

-The vibrations. These happened only once, during an afternoon nap, at around 4:15 pm.
-Using the Lucidology alarm tapes (tricking your body into falling asleep before your mind does), I reached a what I'd call a heightened awareness. (also happened once)

After a period of about 3 months where nothing happened, I started experiencing the following, all of which were during afternoon naps, by the way:

-The bouncing against the ceiling experience.
-Waking up during a dream, and being fully aware of having a lucid dream. (Unfortunately the phone rang after a few seconds...)
-I floated in absolute darkness, while approaching some ray of light.
-And today, I exited and left my hotel room, floated down the hallway and down the steps and outside.

So today's experience raised some questions: First off, when I "floated" outside, it was like summer outside, and there were bellhops. Well... I'm at a Best Western in Denver, CO. It is not summer in Colorado (trust me), and bellhops at a Best Western...? Right...   Furthermore, it seemed a lady at the front desk was able to see me. I checked after I woke up to see if she was there, but nobody even remotely resembling that lady were on duty. There were two guys.

So my question would be, was today's experience a dream? The last four experiences all included me becoming very aware, and a definite sensation of leaving my physical body. (except for what I believe was my lucid dream experience, where I felt like I was being inflated into awareness, if that makes any sense). However, the first time separating, it was as if a pair of scissors opened up, with one side being my body, the other being my spirit. The second time, it felt as if my spirit was being sucked out of my feet, and today it felt as if my spirit fell out of my back. What all three OBE's had in common was that they all felt like I was surrounded in a heavy fog, and I had a little bit of a hard time moving around.

What are y'all's thoughts?
