Hello Kodemaster,

Sorry to hear about the rejection but it was probably supposed to work out that way anyway.  It might prove interesting if you physically visited that house where you saw the crib and the bunch of signs and ask the owner if you could see the room using some reasonable pretext.  Or, describe the contents of the room that you saw and see if they can at least confirm your description.  I know that this is not of much help to you at this point but felt that you might want to investigate for your own edification. Good luck with the job hunting and keep on flying!!

                                                        Regards,  Centa

Hello Andali,

I am a returning member who has not posted in a very long time, but I found your post to be interesting.  IMO your inability to pass through the wall can probably be attributed to a lack of conviction on your part that you could in fact pass through it.  This is based on the assumption that you were in the RTZ at the time.  I get the feeling that you were testing that wall and to me testing means that you are not sure that you can do it. I feel that passing through the wall will cease to be a problem the minute you stop doubting that you can.  I did a lot of testing during my early projections  One that comes to mind is when I tried to punch thru=ough a wall with my fist just to see if I could do it.  My fist went into the wall up to my wrist and then got stuck there.  For some reason I didn't panic, I just thought my fist back out of the wall and out it came.  My lack of conviction blocked the effort in that case but I was able to build on the experience and I dondd't question myself anymore in these matters.

IMO self-confidence, in a state where effect follows thought instantaneaously, is a very real asset.  Involuntary projections seem to come with the territory so to speak.  Robert Monroe wrote in his first book something to the effect that once you open the door to the vibrations and projections that you will not be able to close it.  I don't totally agree with that concept.  I feel that if one gives up trying to project and stops all interest in it that eventually the conditioning will ebb and the pattern will fade.  Just my opinion.

I think that you can safely rule out projecting in the classroom involuntarily.  I can't believe that anyone could possibly become so relaxed to the point of physical paralysis in that environment.

You do have some control over these involuntary projections in that you can abort the vibrations by physical movement and if you have already projected you can use your "return" thought to end it.  I believe that Robert Monroe also said something in his book to the effect that this ability to project can be both a blessing and a curse.  You seem to possess the ability to project quite easily and for that I envy you as I have always had to work very hard to achieve the results that you can take for granted.  If I were in your shoes I would welcome your wonderful opportunity to explore other dimensions on a regular basis.  It's very frustrating to visit a certain area and want to return there but not be able to project when you want to and if you do, you find yourself in another place!!  In your place I would happily accept any of the perceived drawbacks to projecting spontaneously and I would never choose to view this ability as a big inconvenience.  Just my thoughts.   Centa Five

For the last few weeks I haven't been experiencing the old familiar pre-exit vibrations and I need help trying to recover them.  I want to try to will them to come on but need to find the starting point and direction for them.  When I was having them I didn't analyze them or pay much attention to them, they just came on and I projected shortly thereafter.  I would very much appreciate any comments you might have in describing where your vibrations begin and what direction they take so that I can use the appropriate imagery to will them to come on.  Thanks.

I realize that this is a sensitive and controversial topic but one that is often overlooked and seldom is satisfactorily explained. The reason I bring this up at this point is because I recently read something that I found troubling. People were advised to use strong motives during AT practice and a sexual desire was listed as being one of them. My opinions on this subject are based on my previous experiences during Lucid Dreams, both regular and phased and projections and I would like to entertain any comments you all might have regarding this topic.
To the best of my knowledge the Astral Body is not equipped for or capable of what we usually consider physical sex on the earth plane. The only thing I have ever experienced in the Astral that even came close to sex was when I encountered three beings that were more light energy rather than substance as their features were not really discernable and one of them stepped forward and we just seemed to merge together and became one entity, there was some kind of an electrical flash of pure ecstacy and then we parted. It was wonderful and very memorable as this happened many years ago. The merging only lasted for a few seconds and I felt a great bond of love rather than desire.  I know I haven't described this well but it is difficult to put these feelings into words.  I am sure that some of you have had similar encounters and you may be able to do a better job of it.  Most of the lucid dreams I have had with sexual content, which were very vivid and real- appearing, ended whenever any physical contact was made and emotions came into play. They would usually start to melt and I would find myself back in the physical immediately.

I realize that there are young people who read this post and I hope that they are not offended by this material. I will understand if the Moderator needs to edit this post.  I would appreciate any comments that the readers would like to make relevant to their experiences along these lines.  I would like to set aside any moral judgement for this topic as it might cloud its relevancy.

My personal aim in projecting is to learn and evolve if I can thru knowledge gained in the higher planes and to leave any thoughts of sexuality here on the physical plane where it is feasible.

Having said that in my personal opinion that sex as we know it here on this plane is not possible in the Astral I have this puzzling question that keeps interferring with this belief. How is one to explain a wet dream?

Maybe someone could explain why there are such differences in Lucid Dreams.  I understand that all dreams take place in the Astral.  Once I was in a dream where I was looking down at a harbor area and when I looked again most of the features in that harbor had completely changed which triggered my lucidity.  It was a very vivid and colorful dream which I could then direct. The people seemed solid and I could touch and move objects and I could also fly and my hand melted away near the end of the dream.

On another occasion projecting into a dream from the waking state which then became a Lucid Dream, all the people were solid and seemed normal, the environment seemed very stable and felt just like the physical plane, i.e. the hands looked normal, things didn't seem to change and flying was not possible.

My question is this - These two situations are dissimilar and I am wondering why?  Could they have each taken place on a different level in the Astral?  Could it relate to the proximity of the physical body to the double?  The reason I am wondering about the closeness to the physical body is that a couple of weeks ago I got tired of trying to exit and decided to just roll over on my left side and go to sleep and immediately found myself out of body and in a dimmly lit room.  I decided to fly but was only able to float up about 5 feet off the floor.  I floated over to a wall and tried to thrust my fist into it to see if it would go thru but after penetrating about 4" into the wall it got stuck.  I didn't panic, but just thought the fist back out of the wall and all was well.  I feel that nearness to the physical body may have accounted for this.  I'd appreciate any ideas you all may have on these events which were strange to me. Thanks.

Hello Kez,  Yes, if you are in the Astral you should be able to think yourself just about anywhere you want to be and you'll be there.  Try not to be afraid or that will tend to shorten your trips or end them rapidly. Instead of being fearful, just be curious and try to explore a bit. It's a great big world out there and the rules are very different than down here.  Good luck.

It seems to me that if you are in a normal dream and become conscious and aware that you are in a dream then you are awake in the Astral. Why would you want to project into the Astral if you are already there?

Hello Lumian.  It could just be that you lack the confidence to project right now. You may be allowing your hand and arm disorder to jeopardize the process.  If you don't really believe that you can project, you probably won't. Your description of your Astral hands slipping off the rope was interesting. Next time try to focus exclisively on going hand over hand up the rope and don't get involved with the other things going on in your body at that time.  Try to imagine that your physical arms and hands are in reality Astral arms and hands and have confidence in them and they will get you up that rope!! A person  who is normally quite fearless can find their first projection quite scary since they have never exerienced so much noise and rough movement.  Once that hurdle is  passed the next ones are less traumatic.  Then again, you might be one of those lucky ones that just floats right out.  Just try to relax and never doubt that you will project.  If you are fully relaxed and feeling the vibes you might try the "Roll-Out" method.  It works for me. Good luck.

Hello selete and welcome to the forum.  OBE just means that you are out of your body and in the astral realm.  You can get there in many ways such as, inducing a lucid dream, waking up and becoming conscious while in a normal dream, thru AP, etc. If you are concerned about your experiences and whether they take place inside of you or in the astral then you might want do some tests while there, such as trying to fly.  If you can fly then you are in the astral as gravity does not exist there.  You could also pull on one of your fingers and if it stretches out then you are in the astral, if it doesn't then you are not according to my experience anyway.  When it comes to astral experiences, as well as normal dreams which take place there too, you are the only one that can interpret them properly. They may contain messages, symbols, and lots of stuff but they were intended for you.  Try to use your intuition next time and see if they have personal meanings for you.  Also it might be wise to try to eliminate any fear that you may have about the whole AP process and keep trying to get to the astral with consciousness as often as you can. Lots of times it's just a matter of getting accustomed to these experiences and becoming conditioned to them.  You are doing great so far so just keep on doing what your are doing and these things will sort themselves out!!!  Good Luck.  Centa

Thanks for your very interesting post Ryu.  I took the test and it indicated to me which Chakras needed to be worked on and I find this very helpful. I don't know how accurate the test is but my intuition told me that the two Chakras in question did need work to be open and functioning properly.  Thanks again.  Centa

Welcome to Astral Consciousness! / Thinking problems
February 19, 2004, 15:23:49
Post projection problems can arise sometimes when you fail to establish a plan for what you are going to do once you project. Most people put most of their thought and effort into practicing the exit techniques but not the follow-thru once they have achieved the exit. If you have firm goals to achieve and/or definite places to visit then this might help.  Sometimes muddled thinking can be avoided by forming good focusing habits during your waking hours since they have a way of bleeding into your night-time dreams and projections.  Congrats on your success in projecting.

Sounds like a projection to me since you recall coming out of your physical body and could see your physical body on the bed.  Unless there was some flaw in your shadow memory download then you should probably never have to wonder if you have projected. In my experience, I always know with certainty when I project and I have never seen my physical body when in a lucid dream. So, in either case, they are both OBE's the only difference is how you get there.

Good post and good questions.  Your technique for meeting your guide seems valid to me.  You refer to your guide as "him" so I assume he has a recognizable appearance to you.  You seem to have attained a good rapport with your Guide.  You must have had a lot to discuss to take up 4 1/2 hours.  Did your Guide respond to your questions quickly and spontaneously or was there time lapses before he would respond? It would seem to me that this would be a good way to validate the Guide as time lapses between your questions and getting the answers could mean that the answers might be coming from your thinking mind instead of the Guide. Just a thought.  I agree that the thing is that you did meet your Guide and that your conversation with him was fruitful and whether or not it was an OBE was irrelavant. Keep up the good work!

Good questions JC.  I kind of skipped thru a lot of the NEW stuff in RB's Astral Dynamics. I had been working with the energy centers (Chakras) before I read NEW and it kind of threw me when I noticed that he listed 8 Chakras instead of the 7 Chakras that I had learned to work with. I learned early on that energy is needed in order for the energy body to generate the astral double. I understand that the vibrations are indicative of this process.  RB mentions in the NEW section of  Astral Dynamics  that a stronger flow of energy is produced in the trance state than in the waking state.  I don't do any energy raising work during my OBE attempts; I do this during my daily meditation after I go into trance.  I use my post-hypnotic suggestions for the relaxation phase and for encouraging the onset of the vibrations and after that I usually try the roll-out method if just floating up doesn't do the job. I sometimes find that imagery works better than words in attempting exit strategy. I have only had limited success with projecting, but I keep experimenting and get lucky occasionally.  This probably isn't of much help to you JC but hopefully I've answered your question. As far as paralysis is concerned it is my belief that this seems to occur right at the point of sleep onset.  Take care.  Centa

Hello JC84, interesting post.  Total relaxation is of course the critical platform for projection in my opinion, and you seem to be able to manage that quite easily.  Triggering a successful exit is your next logical goal.  I have been engrossed in Self-Hypnosis for quite some time and from constant practice my body is conditioned to go into trance quite quickly also.  While in this state of trance you can give yourself post-hypnotic suggestions that will trigger OBE's if you phrase the suggestions carefully and with sincerity and the total belief that they will work.  There is a lot of helpful info on the internet that you can access in regard to self-hypnosis.  Self-Hypnosis is a very individualized discipline and your intuition should guide you to the correct approach using this method.  Good luck.

Interesting theory Steel Hawk.  I didn't know that one needed to get into a deep trance (theta state) in order to project. If you can put your theory into effect, attain your 4.5 hz brain wave level and align them as you described, and then project on a regular basis then I'd say that you are light-years ahead of the group leading the OBE charge.  Good luck to you, keep theorizing and let us know how it works out when you put it to the test.  Thanks for your post and take care.

Hi SSJOKU.  This was a good learning experience for you. Some people feel that all that is necessary to project is to relax completely wait for the vibrations and paralysis and you will just float out. Ah, if it were only that way every time!!  You were very close but you got stuck.  Sometimes its good to have a contingency plan.  Next time your astral arm rises try to very gently raise your other arm and just kind of exeriment around with stuff because in many ways projecting is a very unique experience for each projector and what works for one may not work for others.  If we lived in a "Cookie Cutter" society we'd all wear the same size clothes and all the pharmaceutical miracle drugs would would work the same way on everyone!! Things don't work that way in the real world.  I think that you are on the right track, just keep learning from each of your experiences and you will be able to make corrections to your practices and refine your pre-exit actions. Good luck.

Yeah, I don't think they were "Sleepers" either, it was just a thought. The female gave you an answer that was much too coherent to be a "Sleeper". They may have been involved in a fatal accident and are lost and confused and just hanging around.  I have tried some things with hypnogogic imagery in the past but usually one of two things happens when I latch on to one of them:  Either I stay awake, get pulled in by it, and it becomes a Lucid Dream or, I lose wakefulness and it pulls me into a normal non-waking dream in which case I try for a recall of it when I wake up and I'm not too successful at making any sense out of it.  Keep traveling Jeff and thanks again.

Thanks for the great post Jeff.  Sharing your experiences with us enhances the Forum experience as there is always something that can be learned from them.  I found the first part of your story very interesting. I assume that you spotted the image in a normal un-awakened state kind of dream which was extraordinary since you exhibited the uncanny and intuitive ability to focus in on it which brought on the vibrations and subsequent exit. If you can become conditioned to looking for similar images in the future you may have encountered a way to project on demand from normal dream states which would be a real breakthrough!!

I use the roll-out method also as it was my first successful projection position.  The speed of your jump to the ground may have been facilitated by what you felt was an urgent need to get down to the street in a hurry to check out those two. A gentle landing indicates that you were in complete control.  I usually fload down and have on occasion jumped, hit the ground softly, and then bounced back up again.  That's what I like about OBBE's they always present us with surprised and new things to contemplate.

Could those two people on the street have been "Sleepers"?  Unfortunately, these OBE's never seem to last as long as we would like.  Thanks again Jeff and keep posting your experiences as they are extremely helpful.

Hello Softerthanair and welcome to the Forums!  There could probably be several explanations to your quandary.  The two of you could possibly be Soul Mates, as that could explain part of it. When you said that you kind of "melted into one another" that sounded familiar to me as I have had a similar experience in the Astral.  It was a wonderful merging and although it could be described as sexual, I found that it was more than just that but was closer to an intense love that went beyond words. Anyway that was the way it felt to me.  Did she appear to you as kind of a vague "Light Being" or did she appear as her recognizable physical self?  If you are consciously projecting then it might be wise to direct yourself to a different destination or maybe stop projecting for awhile as she sounds like she is uncomfortable with the meetings in regards to her present family situation.  This might break the cycle so to speak.  If you are consciously projecting or in a Lucid Dream then you should be able to control all of your actions and may be able to avoid these contacts.

Hi Jeff.  I look forward to downloading your journal and appreciate all the work that you have done to make this possible.  In your experience working with the journal have you been able to pin-point any factors that will indicate the most favorable time to attempt AP's?  I never attempt to AP at bedtime, I always wait till the early A.M. hours when I come back to bed from a bathroom break. I am still relaxed and I can always tell when I will have a chance to AP because I will get the vibrations almost immediately after I lie down in the bed, and then if I don't screw up the exit then all goes well. If I don't get the vibrations immediately then I could lay there for long periods of time and never get the vibrations. So, If I don't get them soon after getting back into bed then I just go back to sleep and wait for the next time to try.  It would be very helpful if your journal could plot favorable dates for attempts based on previous criteria.  You have used the journal for some time now and I thought that maybe you might have discovered contributing factors.  Thanks for your fine contribution.  Regards,  Centa Five

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Exit problems
November 25, 2003, 20:38:45
If you are very tired when you first go to bed the chances are that you will fall asleep during the practice.  If this is the case with you, you might try to drink a little water before bed time and then go to bed and sleep. Later on during the early A.M. you will wake up for a bathroom break.  When you get back into bed you will be somewhat rested and already fully relaxed so this would be a good time to try to AP. I myself never try to project at bedtime as ones mind is usually too cluttered with the days activities and trying to go thru the whole relaxation sequence is harder at that time. Good luck.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Two types of telepathy?
November 23, 2003, 16:54:51
I seem to have more luck reading animals than humans mainly because I read their emotions thru their body language which is not telepathy though, it's just being a trained observer. Differing telepathy patterns may relate to the difference in vibrational levels within differenct species, just guessing now.

You could be right but only time will tell.  The full truth of the matter may not be revealed to you until a later date when this person may appear to you again. You may have to withhold your judgement until that time when more data is available to you.

My thoughts on this subject pretty much coincide with yours except that I don't feel that I am striving for a perfect existence or serenity.  I am retired and have been interested in Astral Projection for a long time and have been fortunate to have achieved some success in this regard.  I must admit that when I was younger I had some rather mundane motivations but in the last decade I have been treating my OBE's as kind of a dry run for when I pass over.  It is nice to know what is around the bend so to speak.  Due to my astral experiences I no longer fear death but consider it like getting my ticket punched for the long awaited ride home. You had a thought-provoking post and I thank you for it.
