Okay-I will be as brief as possible-I have spontaneous OBEs, even when I am not trying to-I can try to have them and have had a fair amount of success-but they also happen when I am not trying to have them which is a bit scarey and confusing.

Like, I will wake up and get up to do something, like get water-and will realize, opps-Im not in my body. I also get sleep paralysis and false awakenings where I get stuck in loops-or like lucid dreams that repeat themselves-over and over-what is this and how do I gain control over it? [:(!]

This is such a great idea-my question is this-
I have never tried to project to a place I have never really been-it seems easier to go places where I know what to expect or have a feel for the essence of the place...so to all the more experianced APers-what should I concentrate on or be thinking-to get myself to this place????

Also-will I need sunblock???hehehe
#3
I tried to look at myself when doing AP-alot thinner and taller!!!hehehehe

Hi,
Sometimes I think I am awake and will try to go in the next room, say to get a glass of water-than I feel very heavy like I am walking with a wet blanket over me-when I am moving-everything appears as it should (my room, windows even the clock on the wall) than I feel something grab me by my neck! And I wake up in my bed!!! Was this an out of body-or am I out of my mind????

What is the sensation of being choked????[:(!]

Almost always when laying on my back-occasionally if laying on my right side-never on my left side or stomach-but I find the last two positions very uncomfortable anyways.
#6
You will know-you will know by the way you move-by the way you feel awake but know you are not...thats about as best I can describe it-keep trying and it will happen.
#7
maybe you mean the mind split thing like in Bruce's book? I always think of it as my subconcious or higher mind is taking control...
#8
If I fall or roll out-and I am close to my body-I will feel heavy and movement is awkward-but, if i am trying to do this-I will get outside and fly, which is just the best! Sometimes it feels a little tuff landing but with no physical body-no ouchies!

Yep-its all true-I can only speak from my experiance, but I am convinced its a real occurence.  I do yoga and practice medatation, ecspecially with proper breath techniques-this seems to aid in the process, as well as feels good. You should try it and see what kind of results you have!

I think most of my APs and OBEs have been from lucid dreams-like, I will be having a dream and something triggers me to become aware I am dreaming-something strange or that I dont understand and at that point I know if I want to AP I can-sometimes when this happens I will also have false awakenings (like OBEs-I am actually in my room) and sleep paralysis upon waking.

Um, I think if you are lucid (or retaining your waking consciousness) you can AP from the lucid dream by simply willing it-look for anamolies-like doors, tunnels, staircases etc and take it from there....

Cool, I see...well I am going to dream myself up a private plane-and I would also like to see Ricardo Montobon and Tatoo there to greet me upon my arrival....hehe

while on the subject of physics, I must say I prefer the very simple version, as illustrated in "Horton Hears a Who" by the infamous Dr. Suess-it is simple but grand-everything is within everything and we are all but a spec in something larger than our imaginations could fathom....
#16
I can somewhat agree with this-but I have had OBEs where the only way I knew I was having the obe was from my strange sensations of movement-otherwise-me like I am awake-no anamolies at all-this doesnt seem like a dream at all.....but maybe I am just unimaginitive in my dreams...?

for Lefthandblack,
that website you posted looked pretty scarey-it said not for children-so I decided not to read it,

I have had a shared dream experiance twice-I dont know how it occured but one was very intresting because it was shared by three of us who all live very far from one another on the same night-makes ya think!!!

I still want to know what IT looked like?

InsertThanks for the links to that website-very cool!!! I have had a near death experiance-but I was very ill over a period of months and dont remember a specific incident and honestly-I think I was having OBEs when I was very young-The false awakenings and sleep paralysis are what I hate!!!! I will be so sure I am awake, get out of bed to do something and realize, Im still sleeping-this can create a loop-like trying to wake up from a dream within a dream-and the sleep paralysis is being awake-able to hear, smell, etc. but you are unable to move because your body is paralysed-very crappy way to start your morning...it is disturbing.

Also, sometimes I will be singing or chanting in my mind while I am sleeping and wake myself up!  Now what the heck this is about-I have no clue...I sometimes feel like my subconcious mind and my normal awake mind are two really different personalities-is this possible???

[:D]Good to know you are getting so much out of our educational system-hehe

I know-I woke up very early the day you posted and was checking out the moon-it was so big and just gorgeous.....[:P]

Personally-I am always amazed by how much can occur during an AP-I will wake up thinking I must of slept all night-to find that I was only sleeping for an hour or 2-if you have an OBE in real time-time is basically the same-although, I once looked at my digital alarm clock during an OBE and the numbers looked backwards-I have no explaination for this except that my astral double is dyslexic
