That is a really cool experience. I bet you were out of body.

I recently had a lucid dream but I couldn't control anything. I was being killed and so I screamed "Wake up, Wake up!" That was the only control I had. I remember thinking, "How long is it going to take to get me to my body!" I was panicking. It seemed like I was so far away.

Happens to me quite a lot.

Some of them I'm convinced are past lives. The memories and backstories are just too detailed. I suppose they could be other people's memories that they've decided to share with me though.

I grew up being taught against reincarnation. Now I'm not so sure anymore. I'm starting to think that I have lived some of these dreams. I can't believe how much my beliefs have changed since I've been watching my dreams close up.

I get the goofy dreams too. LOL, One time I was a female Doctor Who flying around in my Tardis. That was a fun dream.

I dream that I am other people too sometimes.  I once dreamt that I was a spy.  Sometimes I even have different memories in dreams which have never happened in waking life...this is very very interesting indeed.

Exactly. In one dream, I had the memory of losing a child. I was very distraught in the dream. I never lost a child. I have two sons but the child was not my current children.

It really amazes me of how detailed some of these dreams can be.

Well actually in 20 years we will need 40% more water then we will have. I read we could fit all 7 billion in texas if they had the same living space as New York. But that isnt the point. Its what we take from the earth with out giving back, we kill ecosystems, not balance them. 7 billion is too much.

True, there are a lot of people but it only takes one hearty virus to cut down the population and with this many people around, touchin' stuff, sneezing on each other, and doing questionable things (some of which I have found on the internet by accident), it will break even, eventually, I'm guessing!

Hi, I had ear ringing when I was 10 to 12 years old, at that time i didn't take much notice of it, it stopped after some time. But two years ago it reappeared with a vengeance it's so loud that I had to see my doctor, he told me it was high blood pressure, old age and something else I didn't understand. he prescribed me some pills that didn't help.

I know what you mean. My doc just kinda thrusts his shoulders. I have high blood pressure but it is under control with meds. The noise has only gotten louder. I don't think it's from my pressure. I use a lot of loud fans around the house or when it gets really bad, I put on thunderstorm sounds. It really helps. I wish I could use it to do my little astral exercises. Although, from what others have said, I think you use it as a sound that you meditate on. It helps you not to think so many thoughts, I'm guessing. In my case, concentrating on it is like listening to someone scratch a chalk board. When I meditate, I use ocean sounds, various nature sounds to block it. It would be so cool if I could use it.

I was wondering if anyone else experiences this. I'm sure probably a lot of people do but no one I know seems to dream that they are not themselves. I've been doing this off and on for years. These dreams are not lucid but very vivid. My dad is someone who remembers many of his dreams, as I do, and he thought it was strange when I told him about this. I know some people believe in reincarnation but I am not sure if I believe in that. My old beliefs have kinda fell away after some of these experiences with out of body and lucid dreaming.

Recently, I was a female child in a class and my teacher was keeping me after school to help me. On another day I was some type of sociologist or something studying people in a small village with an old matriarch that didn't like me (who ever I was) LOL. I was not me. That was a long dream. Sometimes I am a man or a boy. In this reality, I am a woman and it's a bit weird sometimes. Sometimes, I have a different husband, completely different kids, and it's almost like being part of a movie. Since I have been working on lucid dreaming and out of body experiences (which I am far from mastering) these dreams have become incredibly vivid.

Do you have these kind of dreams?

I've had this really bad for a few years now. Sometimes, it gets so loud, I have trouble sleeping. Oddly, I can hear extremly well and noise really bothers me because of it. I tried to use it for my meditations, but I find it only causes me anxiety to concentrate on the sound. Mine is just so high pitched.

maybe he should try healing people instead, then they would believe him. Instead he claims responsibility of major destruction? Another fearmonger, just what the world needs.

Gosh, I wonder if this man really believes himself? Maybe he's mentally ill. I have always wondered about people who claim to be prophits or even saviors. Do they believe this as much as their followers or is it just a brainwashing scheme. It always seems to me that they must believe most of what they say since they go to so much work.

Since I grew up as a fundamentalist in a particularly nutty religion (Seventh Day Adventists) I'm perhaps more sensitive
http://blogs.wsj.com/speakeasy/2010/12/19/a-holiday-message-from-ricky-gervais-why-im-an-atheist/

I know what you mean. I grew up in a very strict form of Christianity and am very sensitive also. It's easy to have some flashbacks when religion is involved if you've seen people die or suffer from their beliefs. It's been years and I still have to wade through those feelings. I do find myself curious about other people and their beliefs for some reason.

That's amazing!

I know someone who is very scared to die & thinks he will be trapped in his body inside the coffin....
waiting for judgement day...   :-(

Wow, that must be an awful fear. He's probably afraid to sleep at night.

tickleberries what you said above is crazy, scary, but still amazing. In my case no one was around me, I wish there were. At least I could ask them if they saw what I saw or heard me scream.

What do you do before you sleep? how did you develop this ... let's say skill?

For me, I just started seeing this stuff a few years back, although, I remember having a few rare experiences in my teen years. I'm not sure what happened except that I've had a lot of trouble with sleep issues. This usually happens when I skip a day or so of sleep for some reason. I never really meant for this to happen. It only lasts for several seconds or so, although I never counted it. Sometimes, I'll just close my eyes and wait long enough for it to go away. I really don't like it because it freaks me out! LOL One time I woke to find some weird flying creature coming at me. I ended up standing up in the bed, next to my husband trying to hit it with my pillow. I scared the life out of my husband! For the next few days I had left a light on at night.

Hi:

Sounds really intense. I think maybe sometimes our dreams will follow us out to our reality. The reason I think this is because when I wake, sometimes, I see things that no one else will see. One time, I was awake, just woke up and saw a little girl running in the room. My husband was up and walking around. She was right next to my husband. Now this was while being awake. I pointed the little girl out and asked, "Hey, whose that?" My husband said, "There's no one there." This was just one of many people I saw upon waking. There are times that my son was in the room and I asked him if he saw what I was seeing. He'd look at me crazy and say no. A few times I had some very bad ones like my room appeared to be a morgue. My husband was sleeping next to me and he appeared dead and covered with a sheet. Then, the whole room started coming back to normal. I was so freaked! I even saw a psychiatrist about this. He said I was not nuts! He just said it was fascinating and that maybe I was just not completely awake and my dreams were showing up in reality.

I think this is called hypnopompic imagery or something similar, imagery upon awakening. From what I hear, it is kinda rare. I know how frightening all this can be. I find that if I get more sleep at night, I have less of these visions upon waking. Have you been sleeping enough? I myself have gotten to the point where I just wait it out and try not to panic. Of course, maybe you were having an OBE instead.

Download or buy a hard copy of School of Out-of-Body Travel. It's very resourceful!

Thanks, I noticed that you guys put up this link. I downloaded the books and could put them into kindle format. It really looks interesting. I need all the help I can get.

I have a terrible time trying to sleep. I usually try not to think about the day. I find I sleep better on my right side. Not sure why. Sometimes, I will try to visualize a bit just before.

I want to go peacefully like my grandfather, in my sleep, not like the passengers screaming in his car....

Oh my gosh! LOL. :-D

but it's the parent's job to teach/instill/develop a foundation for a worldview to their kids, and not the school's.

I agree. I have a 15 year old and if there is anything he does, it is rebel against school. He is a complete atheist and, at first, when I started talking about obes and lucid dreams, he said he wasn't sure whether to fall over or call me crazy. Now he has started lucid dreaming, just out of curiosity to see what I was talking about. I think they will only be interested in learning these ideas after they find someone they can trust. School, to some kids, is the enemy, especially to my son. They won't trust their enemy.

Wow, there is some really beautiful stuff. I do art myself. I'm big on sketching, markers, color pencils, and plain straight graphite. Maybe if I can get something zapped up, I'll put some up. I don't have a scanner and my phone just doesn't do it justice.

I always keep extra rolls of tissue in my car, just in case! I'm sure there will be a shortage after the zombies start chasing us!

I had three dreams that I was hit by a train. It was always the same. My husband was driving, and I was in the passenger's seat. We would be hit head on. In the third dream, I was dead and while being in this dead state, I realized I was still aware and alive in some odd way. This was quite a few years ago, and these dreams were very intense. I haven't died yet. I have had dreams of the future that came true but this set has not yet happened. If it ever does happen, I'm not expecting it any time soon. I have had dreams that came true fifteen years later, or, this could be a scary fluke for you.

I love messing with my cats, they always just stare at my astral body when i walk down the stairs to go outside, i would run at them as if i would kick them and they just give me this look like "who you finnah try?"

I would love to be this experienced. It would be so cool to see what my cat does during sleep. I wouldn't want to scare her, though. She would never forgive me!

I was wondering about this. Being new to all of this, I was wondering, why would any of us want to be here? I like what mcdwg said. I also like what was said about the weights. There just has to be a reason. It sounds silly but I wonder if we got bored with all the freedom and wanted to test ourselves.
