Andy, I feel like you misunderstood me. I didn't mean "don't buy diamonds! They are all from little kids!" if I was, I wouldn't be wearing this diamond ring from my husband. I just want people to be aware and try to be more considerate the next time they go off diamond shopping. And I am glad that many companies are taking advantage of the laser tracking techniques since it used to be very difficult to track diamonds before then.

Quartz is the most useful crystal that most practioners find in their practice, it can store LOTS of energy and isn't very expensive. Diamonds and Quartz are very different, and not just in price range. Their elemental structure is very different. Quartz is made out of Silicon dioxide while Diamonds are made of carbon put under high pressure. And while Quartz is one of the more plentiful gems on earth and found in many quarries throughout the world, most of the world's Diamonds have came to the western world via a children slavery in Africa. Please keep in mind all crystals have been harvested from the earth and the effect it has on the planet as well. Please keep these things in mind when you are at a new age shop purchasing gems. Thanks
