bitsmart---thanks for the post! Not just because I heartily concur, but I do appreciate it when someone else's experiences have led them to an observation "post" (no pun intended) not far from my own...it encourages me. Granted, I know we don't need empathetic validation for survival, but it feels good nonetheless...

Two things you wrote I'd like to explore. In the first, I'd like to take our ongoing expose` on the duality illusion and juxtapose it with the following question of mine. I'm thinking that you have already answered it, but wanted to confirm:

"Why is it that in my entire life's accumulation of non-physical/non-3D experiences I have not experienced a single demon, not a single malevolent entity of any kind, yet this quite starkly contrasts with the experiences of many members of this forum site..."

Secondly, I have had powerful experiences that completely confirm for me the idea you touched on regarding the choosing of love over fear. I won't go into the details in this post, but I felt it was important to share that I have been guided (quite profoundly at times) to choose love over fear, and to identify the dynamics of every encounter or idea, so as to better understand what would constitute love and fear in each situation---and thus choose accordingly, wisely, hopefully...

Love & light to all,
Greg

Kristen,
A thought-provoking post, thank you! First I tackle the easy part :-)
Instead of choosing one of your 5 descriptors, I figured I'd go the all-encompassing route and answer all 5, to therefore provide a better reflection of my current attitude. To wit:

1. Judge not lest ye be judged
True ultimately, if not sooner, karmic influence might be backed up up a bit from time to time, slowing the reciprocation, but it'll come.

2. Judging a judger is judging
Sho' nuff true as well.

3. Here a judge, there a judge, everywhere a judge-judge!
4. Opinions are like *@%holes - everyone has one.

True. Seems a human pre-requisite (more on that in a bit). However, I don't know if judge-judges are as prevalent as mere judges. Maybe there's a ratio of 1 judge-judge for every 10 judges, which does, I suppose, validate "everywhere a judge-judge".  :-)

5. I am so inspired not to make judgements without prolonged deep meditation that I have joined an isolated mountaintop buddhist monestary.
Not so inspired as to discard all my birthright sensual pleasures! No, isolated mountaintop won't work. Instead, I'll pack my porta-Buddha with me in me noggin and do my pre-judge meditation on the fly...

You asked:
"And; if there is metaphysics, then is there metaethics?"

Methinks certainly there is. If "ethics" are a theory or system of moral principles or values, and "moral" implies conformity to established sanctioned codes or accepted notions of right and wrong, then I think that it stands to reckon that, as with any human-contrived system or conformity code, that something could conceivably exist above & beyond it (i.e., meta).

Our (i.e., human) ethics, then, would appear to be confined to the standards and behaviors here in 3D Earth, and given our significant explorations and verifications of things non-3D (and things seemingly more powerful than 3D), then things meta-ethic (above our ethics, anyway) seem very plausible to conceive of.
================
You posed "what defines us as human, and if that definition of humanity includes a human morality"...

Please help me build this list, this is off-the-cuff brainstorming going on with me here...but yes, I do believe, for reasons related to my discussion above on meta-ethics, that our definition of human will necessarily include the CONCEPT of human morality, if not a concise list applicable and common to every culture on our fair planet...

I think we are commonly human in our input and output "portals" or mechanisms---
our senses;
our brains;
the capacity of our minds to be aware of our own existence and to ponder abstract things;
the capacity of our spiritual hearts to experience emotions;
our imaginative abilities to create something from nothing;
our souls (that individual aspect that renders us unique from one another---we all possess this, no?)....

...what else?

So regarding a human morality--- even with divergent cultures with divergent codes of ethics, morals, behaviors, etc., there seems to be a common current of the desire to create social structure in order to maintain/strengthen/preserve the societal norms (the status quo)...

Better stop here. Quoting Austin Powers "....and I'm spent!" Comments?

Warmly,
Greg

Welcome to Astral Chat! / HELP!!!!

Hi Spencer,
Welcome! I'm new here too--it's a great site, eh?

I bet you'll get alot of good advice, see what rings true for you...there are a great many unique though kindred spirits here.

That said, my humble suggestion to you is to be easy on yourself and your journey, i.e., relax, have fun with it. A child-like curiosity and inquisitive nature ("I'm on an adventure!") sure beats putting all sorts of projection/performance pressure on yourself...and know that there may be as many different projection techniques as there are posters to this forum...again, be very sensitive and aware of what seems to work for you as you explore, and go with it...

This may seem obvious, but have you read RB's book "Astral Dynamics"? A comprehensive methodology to be sure, and well worth your time.

I never experienced conscious projections as a child as many people here have---for me, my greatest strides came from becoming consistent with a combination of 1)meditation, 2)using the Monroe Institute's Hemi-Sync tapes, and 3)learning to become lucid in my dreams...and a simple dream journal faithfully recorded in the wee hours of every morning is how it all started...

To quote me pal Mobius, another poster here..."All the best to you on your journeys"

Regards,
Greg

Mobius-G'day mate! (see, I'm gettin' the hang of this Aussie stuff...not bad for a Feral, eh?)  ;)

Bitsmart's earlier post in this thread mentioned a book that had caught my attention a few weeks ago when poking around with this subject..."Healing Sounds" by Jonathan Goldman.

I almost bought it at Amazon.com, got caught up reading all the reviews and related books, then got sidetracked (if I'm online, it means I'm at my job, so I should do some work for them...ha!)

Tuning Forks indeed! Keep experimenting dude, no substitute for the real thing...there is definitely something going on with this.

Love & light to all,
Greg

Hi all,
Another interesting discussion topic---good choice, Adrian!

I've been quite aware/interested in my diet's effect on my life for about 20 years. That is not saying that I have had a "perfect" diet (whatever that would mean) for the last 2 decades, far from it! But I began educating myself in nutrition way back when, once I realized the strong connection between my intake and my output, as it were...(This is perhaps obvious to most people nowadays, but not to too many of us kids of the 70s)...

Anyway, at various times I committed myself to strict vegetarian diets, various approaches therein, but could never stay with it. Not for lack of discipline, however, but mainly because I simply was not as strong or as energized while on any of the meat-less diets I've tried. I would usually give each one 6 months minimum to establish itself...

I grew up in Hawaii (I live in Venice Beach, California now) and have been surfing, swimming, diving, and thrashing around in the Pacific Ocean for more than 30 years...I also weight train to keep my strength up for the winter surfing season, when the waves are consistently bigger, and the issues of dealing with so much water power on a regular basis can get pretty demanding. For me, the soy protein (or even a dairy-only diet) simply couldn't replace the fish, chicken, and rare beef I need to eat to stay not only on top of my big wave hunting, but then I still need to function at a high energy level to deal with the LA rat race, my corporate job, my artistic pursuits, my 2 kids, etc...

So I usually eat a small 3-4 ounce portion of meat per day (at lunch--I go veggie for dinner), complemented with a daily dose of 5-6 different raw fruits, vegetables, & nuts, sprouted grain organically grown bread, organic milk, some rice or pasta, and a gallon or more of mountain spring water...this daily program does this body (a 43 year old one at that) quite good! Oh yeah, for you young bucks out there---my sex drive is as high (or perhaps higher) than it was when I was in my 20s...I ate alot of junk back then, so maybe my balanced diet I've described has had something to do with it (I've been following the one above for 5-6 years now).

One other personal observation/experience regarding diet I can share. When either plummeting into the occasional junk food routine as I've done from time to time over the years, or when I was pure vegetarian---besides the noticeable strength drop-off, I got sick more often than I do now.

Warm regards to all,
Greg

Hi folks,
Interesting posts, thanks for the stimulation of my thought processes!

Disclaimer: All my opinions, ideas, etc., are based upon my own life experiences only, and reflect me only---that is to say, my arguments are not designed in an attempt to convert anyone to my way of thinking...we all have our own paths to walk.

First, in reply to Erictwo's question "Is evil non-judgmental?", I would say no, it's not. Like antiloop alluded to, evil for me is a judgment itself created by those who subscribe (whether overtly  or perhaps more commonly just plain unaware of it) to the dualistic view of life experience being good, evil, or some part in between these two polarities. In other words, I don't believe evil to be a sentient being unto itself, one capable of judging. Humans (some) judge things to be good or evil, black or white, right or wrong, real or illusion, the list goes on & on. Evil itself is technically just an adjective used to describe someone, something, or some action. It is dualistic, meaning that it sits on one end of a sliding scale with the concept of good at the opposite end (polarized by whatever the Judger means by both).

In addressing "open-mindedness" vs. "enlightenment", "human growth experience", etc., I agree that blindly calling a painful experience "enlightenment" or a "human growth experience" is simplistic and naive, particularly when no enlightenment or growth has yet to take place! Yet at the same time, I have personally found it the most beneficial for my spiritual/personal growth when I do not give in to the temptation to immediately call my painful experiences "bad", or to judge those involved as "bad" or "evil" or "wrong".

I have been through some experiences that were extremely difficult to deal with. In retrospect, some of my initial judgments about what was happening to me were incorrect, as were my judgments of those involved. Much reflection/meditation time (and the passage of time itself) spent on these painful experiences produced the wisdom, enlightenment, growth, etc.

Thus I guess my experience has taught me that it's best to avoid judging something or someone prematurely, good or bad, as not all of the experience's information is available right off the bat, so to speak. (Actually my experience has taught me that there is no good or bad, period---and that much human 3D judgment is flawed and simplistic, but that is for another discussion time perhaps)...

I agree with Erictwo & Cainam Nazier that it is necessary to be as judging/discerning as possible in one's life (I think it's just semantics here in these examples---to judge = to discern); we seek truth, and not illusion (I hope!).

Yet I put discernment in with my bag of awareness tools, moreso than it functioning as a gatekeeper would, separating the black sheep (or evil) from the white (or good) as they approach his gate. Awareness, discernment, sensitivity are all things that I have sought to expand since I began my non-physical exploration many moons ago. At the same time, my ego's judge has been reduced in importance. That 3D conscious judge attempts to serve me well in this life, so concerned with my survival is he. But it can get in the way, depriving
me of valuable insight that only comes from always being aware that there just might be more than my one way of looking at something...

I like antiloop's working definition of the concept of "non-judgmental"---indeed---give space "to be" and have space granted to you. There are so many (billions? zillions?) different lives being led, and none of them are the same. How pompous of someone to assume a judging position over the life of another! We simply do not have the omniscience to make those assumptions. And deciding for myself that another's actions or beliefs are not for me or have not proven themselves true for me does not mean I have judged the person necessarily, either. Judging seems to come when the labels are stuck on (good/bad, stupid/guru, wise/foolish, etc.), and they seem to get stuck on without all of the truth being known at that time...the jury's still out, as it were.

Warm regards,
Greg

Hi ya Mobius & Everyone else!

Thanks for all the info & links related to the connection between chakras, glands, and music---my intent is to understand these connections more as I go (i.e., grow). Anyone else's interest to share anything related to all this is most appreciated.

My experience to date is limited, but I can share a coupla things for y'all...I've played the guitar for 25+ years. I remember as kids growing up in Honolulu, my best friend and I just decided one day to become musicians. Soon after, we were quite caught up in sounds, all sounds. Sounds we could make, sounds we could hear, etc...

Across the street from my house was our elementary school, which had a small electric generator encased in a metal box large enough for the two of us to climb up on it, with or without our guitars. One day we tried to vocalize the droning hum that was coming from the machine inside, that is, duplicate it in pitch (i.e., "on key" I guess you could say) and in tone (the sonic characteristics of the sound). We chanted along with this generator for 20-30 seconds when we both became acutely aware that our perception of our reality had been enhanced or changed.

The fact that we couldn't sing along exactly in key with each other & the machine created an independent pulsing frequency that seemed quite hypnotic to the two of us, so much so that we kept experimenting with it to find the chanting pitch that induced the greatest perception alteration. We found we could vary the speed of this pulse by how "in tune" or not we were to the machine's drone.

I've since learned that this "3rd" created frequency phenomenon is called a "frequency-following response", and is a basis for the Monroe Institute's research into Hemi-Sync meditation (go figure, eh?!). Also---from the Buddhist monk chants and Hindu mystical ragas I've been enamored with over the years, I think that there most certainly is a connection between meditative states and the singing/playing/sounding of certain notes in relation to the over-riding "Tonic" note (or key) that is performed for an extened period of time...

Another tidbit: while performing my resonant tuning exercise of singing/humming along with a pre-recorded drone of a (mostly) human choir of voices who are basically staying around one pitch/note, I found that if I purposefully sing just a tiny bit sharp (above) or flat (below) the choir, I can physically (etherically?) feel the stimulation of my major chakras, especially those in proximity to my lungs and vocal cords...physically, the vibration caused by the pitch differential in turn stimulates the related glands, especially the heart...

This is most interesting stuff for me, and I continue to explore (given my love of sound); any comments welcome.

Mobius---indeed I be the same as the Greg 11.11 on VML Topica...small world, eh? Relating to this, I feel very grateful that I can so easily converse with other explorers such as you & Jo, and you live thousands of miles away! It is very very encouraging for me, and I am also grateful to RB and those on the VML for creating sites where I can listen and share with kindred spirits...truly a blessing! (I don't have/know anyone in L.A. that has a similar passion for journeying into what increasingly seems like the "real" real world,  versus what seems to be going around me here in Tinseltown 3-D...this place has energy, but don't know if it's all that good!)

Jo, Sedona indeed! Have not visited there yet, but got close, having  spent many moons camping in Monument Valley, Utah---with most unusual experiences too! Unfortunately, I haven't been since I made most of my meditation/exploration breakthroughs and at the time, I got a little spooked. My girlfriend at the time was flat-out terrified...I think now I would interpret that energy and experience in a totally different (and positive) manner...what a difference an attitude/perspective change accomplishes, eh?

Thanks all for sharing your experiences---most inspiring!

Greg

Thanks (for the welcome) Mobius! Tagging onto something both you & Jo touched on, does anyone have any thoughts on what would make a place like Crystal Castle so spiritually energized? Do you think the geology determines that, the geographical location, or might it be from the energy spirit-minded folks like us project to/connect with the place?

Like Jo said, at TMI the energy is soooo positive and pervasive, it really makes it possible for great experiences to unfold. Even for guys & gals coming from rat-race 3-D lifestyles (uhhh, like me here in Los Angeles), the energy instantly begins to shift one's awareness, one's priorities, and one's intent. My thought about TMI is that so many people have gone there and focused (pardon the pun---unintentional) that the place seems to have stored this great wealth of positive vibrations: countless journeys to other realms, meetings with Guidance, etc.

Similarly, many other places around the world seem to also have this sort of "vortex" quality to them (not that I know what a vortex is exactly, but sort of an energy portal), so that us spirit-warriors can tap into...your thoughts?

I must figure a way to swing a visit to Crystal Castle, sounds wonderful! Thanks for turning me on to such a place.

Greg

PS. True that giant crystal was a gift from far away, but while on my many walks along the unpaved roads that are near TMI, I chanced to pick up several small crystals that I found mixed in with the ordinary rocks...

Hi all,

This is my debut post to the Astral Pulse forum. I visited the site often for a few months then decided to join today...

I know the string has ventured off from Sasser's original concern regarding the Monroe Institute, but I wanted to humbly offer my direct experience with TMI and the folks involved.

I heartily concur with Jo & RickD. Everyone there was down-to-earth, open, honest, and quite encouraging to each one of us, allowing us to discover for ourselves what we each wanted/needed to discover. Personally, I had a most transformative week at the Institute, to say the least, experiencing things beyond my expectations (which I had lowered prior to arrival, so as not to put any performance pressure on myself!). Also refreshing is that there is an obvious effort (by Bob's family and the others involved) to prevent a "cult of personality" from developing around "Bob Monroe" and his work...it's all humbly but enthusiastically presented, and each of the 20 of us was given the sacred space necessary to just be...so a conspiracy theory really seems ridiculous when you know the people to whom it's referring to!

Joe McMoneagle is a great guy too, I met him up at his house when I visited his wife Scooter for her read on my astrology chart...

Yeah, that big crystal is something to behold, it's out in the middle of a big field that is the main building's back yard (sorta). One night with a full moon, I sat myself up against it for some time; real nice! When the moon was trying to shine its way through it, it seemed to glow...

I bought RB's Astral Dynamics fairly soon after my Gateway program had ended---what an awesome work! I quickly caught on to his NEW approach, as that energy raising had become a staple for me since encountering a related approach on the Monroe tapes and at the TMI program...I think both are extremely effective, and I have had some creative fun with combining bits from both during my nightly meditations...

Warm regards to all,
Greg
