Consciousness is really all that we actually are.

Congratulations, you have realized you could be nothing more than a brain in a vat.

If time was speeding up, you would not be able to perceive it. If time stopped, then started again, you would not be able to perceive it. To put it bluntly, it is not; you are imagining it.

You sound depressed, which can be affect how you perceive the past. If you think that is the problem, do something about it. If you need help, find someone that can help you with it.

Seriously though, this is very interesting. What's your zodiac and birth date, you should check the Mayan calendar and see what info you pull get from it. Here's a website you can use: http://mayaportal.lucita.net/

I put my birth date on that website, and it told me I'm somewhat of a truth seeker and spreader. Basically, I defend the truth and put it before myself. IDK why, but it seems reasonable according to my personality. Find out as much as possible about yourself.
Astrology is superstition; it's horrible that actually maintains a hold on people.

How can you believe that an automated website with dynamically-generated content can give you any insight on your life in particular? Someone coded that to accept a birth date, and then output based on the zodiac sign that it falls under. They make the answers to be as vague as necessary to ensure that individuals can interpret it as they choose.

Of course the outcome seems reasonable according to your personality, you're just looking into the mirror and analyzing yourself.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Seeing a 'dusty wind'
January 06, 2007, 00:49:57
Hello,
While relaxing outside, I sometimes see this haze go over my vision, like dust travelling across my field of view. It is not noticed by others around me, so I will assume that has something to do with my eyes. I am wondering if anyone else recognizes this.

That was one of the neatest things I've seen in a long time. Thanks for sharing that. I, also, didn't need to look very long. A couple of seconds and then it was there. This happens with afterimages a lot for me, white and black tiled floors can look really neat.

I originally listened to Nirvana's cover of David Bowie's "The Man who Sold the World", so it's the one I'm used to hearing, though I do listen to both.

We passed upon the stair
We spoke of was and when
Although I wasn't there
He said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise
I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone
A long long time ago
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world

I laughed and shook his hand
And made my way back home
I searched for form and land
For years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazely stare
We crossed a million hills
We must have died alone
A long long time ago

Who knows?
Not me
We never lost control
You're face to face
With the man who sold the world

MisterJingo: Is that the same kind of thing that goes on when I see the walls curve? When you think about it, it makes sense. The tops and bottoms of the walls are further from your eyes than the middle is. If you also happen to be away from the horizontal edges of the wall, the edges will also have this effect. People don't seem to notice it. I only remember about it sometimes, then they curve again once I ignore the 'filters'.

Try it some time, it's kind of neat.

Welcome to Quantum Physics! / Can Humans Explode
March 31, 2006, 02:32:47
Pressure changes will do that. The human body is meant to be pushed on by the atmosphere. You go high enough and you'll 'explode'. Sudden pressure changes will do it faster, though.

Music Credits

Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike OST
Mortal Kombat 2 OST
Craig Armstrong - Lissa Montage
E.S. Posthumus - Pompeii
Meet Joe Black - That Next Place
Resident Evil 3 - Epilogue

I'm going to assume it's in there somewhere, shouldn't take all to long to cross-reference those with the songs available on the net. I'd suggest sending an email to Proxicide and ask what music was used for the credits. Proxicide's email address is available on the webpage that you linked to.

Welcome to Metaphysics! / Sporadic bursts of ESP

I get hit with it once in a while, used to happen more often now that I think about it. Maybe it's the mindset that helps, less stress then, too. Used to get sensations that let me know when I was going to run into people I knew.

Was on graveyard shifts before, hit two nights where I was able to tell what the person was wearing before I saw them. Learned not to second-guess it either, just messes everything up. First one is usually right.

Hallucinations occur often with sleep paralysis. It's the equivilent of a nightmare when they are scary like that, treat it as such.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Second OBE
October 03, 2005, 03:40:29
Nope, it was night, but a bit of light comes in through the window from the streetlights outside. Yeah, I've noticed that most people OBE with their eyes closed, but for three times I've had it, it's been with my eyes opened.

I've only seen that flashing in the second time, the only time I've seen something similar was when I was seeing outlines while trying to induce a conscience one with my eyes closed.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Second OBE
September 30, 2005, 05:09:27
Nope, it wasn't spinning. It was like there was a superimposed image of what was in front of me, except bright white at certain parts. It probably flashed in and out on parts, but it was fairly confusing and I still don't have a clear picture of how it moved. I know that it wasn't like lightning bolts, though, it would've stuck out.

When I've seen the rest of my body when things like this have happened before, only the parts that were disconnected slightly showed up.

-Edit-

Had a third session of OBE's while is SP again, a few nights ago. Never got fully out, just kept rolling to the side and kept finding myself back in. Did this a bunch of times before I either dropped into another dream for a bit or forgot what I was doing.

If I get sleep paralysis that night, I'll give it a shot. Never phased before, but SP can give me a free go at that sort of thing. Not like I'll be doing anything else while I'm asleep.

Welcome to Out of Body Experiences! / Second OBE

Hullo again, just figured I'd let you know about this. I had an episode of sleep paralysis just a while back, first one in about a month. I had my eyes open and was seeing flashing white images of what was around me while I was laying on my side, facing the wall. It was going between what I would normally see in the dim room (the wall, bit of the window, and blankets) and a white view of the same.

I watched this for a bit, probably less than ten seconds, and decided to try to sink out to see if it was any easier than rolling. I saw a line of black in my view, may have been the blankets; I have no way of telling, and promptly found myself facing the headboard and jammed in between my bed and the wall, with my back to the wall. In reality, the bed is right up against it, so I may have been half in the wall and half in the bed, can't say though, it was confusing at the time.

After this happened, I woke up, knew that I had a thing of SP, and nearly forgot about having the OBE. Like I said, it was very confusing at the time and muddled. I'm glad that I remembered about it though.

Has anyone else had the slowly flashing view like that before?

I used to have a whooshing noise and an odd feeling just before I had nightmares. Haven't had any in ages though, because I taught myself to control my dreams or to just jump out of the nightmare before it happened. Long after I stopped having nightmares, I started having sleep paralysis episodes, but just before they kick in, I get the same feeling and noise in my dreams as though I am having a nightmare (which sometimes actually kicks a small one in). No clue why it'd feel the same though.

Welcome to Dreams! / How do you lucid dream?
July 15, 2005, 09:53:59
For me, I have to concentrate intensely on the dream once I'm lucid. My body finds out that I'm aware that I'm dreaming and starts to wake me up, then I have to ignore my body waking up for as long as I can to stay in the dream, but once it tries to wake up, the dream ends quickly.

Heh, this reminds me of my -on- days, when things move surreally smoothly. It's like you know how to move to get it all to work. It's like you are in unison with everything around you.
#21
I've had that before, not sure what it would mean for another person though. It hasn't happened for a while, but that was to be expected due to circumstances.
#22
Yeah, for me that'd be it. Had the very quick falling dreams that result in me snapping awake with the feeling that I had hit the mattress before. I guess you don't need to feel the relaxation of the muscles to be startled awake by it (like what I was mentioning in my earlier post). Thanks for finding that information out.
#23
The sleep paralysis was most likely caused from sleeping in a place that you don't usually sleep at, even falling asleep in your own house on your couch is enough to do it sometimes. For some people, SP only happens once in a blue moon, but for others it happens frequently (a few times a month) or nightly in extreme cases.

Welcome to Dreams! / First lucid dream
May 30, 2005, 03:36:13
There are different levels of lucidity, the highest of which is where you can control absolutly everthing that is happening (yourself, other people, the environment that you are in) while the other levels only enable you to move yourself and think as you normally would instead of watching it as a movie. I don't think that you even need to realize that you are dreaming to actually have the control associated with a lucid dream, because the few ones where it dawned on me that I was dreaming were short because my body was trying to wake up.

I just know that I used to hear loud rushing sounds while I was holding onto sleep paralysis (which is a good state to enter AP from), that was most likely caused by either my computer fan whirling around or from the blood rushing near my eardrums. You can hold onto it for a while, I've found that it make SP last longer, so it may be useful for APing.
