I don't know if demons exist.
But the life in the physical world is also dangerous, actually everything is dangerous if you think about it.

I don't say that you should not care about fear of danger.
But danger is always there you can't avoid it.

But the most excitement is in that what is not explored yet.
In the early days the exploreres went from Europe with ships to the other side of the sea to the East.
They could also stay at home, but they were curious about what was at the other side of the sea.

It is the same with Astral projection i think.
The other side of the sea is the Astral world.

You should ask yourself are you the type of person that likes to walk in front to create new roads.
Or are you the type of person who walks the roads when they are build and secured.

I think that you learn things in the physical world and then store them in your memory.
And after a while you do not have to think about what you learned anymore because you are then used to it.
Then you can do it almost automatically. It is just like riding a bike.

But when you are in the dream world or astral world or however you wanne call it.
There you are learning things just like here in the physical world.
But you forget your memories of the things you have learned very fast.
That way all the knowledge about what you have learned goes lost.
But when you start to write down your dreams in a dream journal then your knowledge will not be forgotten.
That way you can maybe improve your ability to lucid dream.

I invented the theory in this topic a while ago, i do not agree anymore with it.
I have come up with a new theory.
My new theory goes like this:

Let me tell you guys what i think what you feel when doing energywork on what you call chakras.
When you go to sleep and dream your subconscious activates a mechanism called sleep paralysis.
To protect you from for example jumping out of a window in the physical world, when you are dreaming about jumping.
Sleep paralysis litterally paralyses the movement of your physical body when you are sleeping.

But when you are doing a form of meditation called energywork you are not moving.
And you are focusing on your body until you start to feel a tingling feelings.
That tingling feelings are very small electrical signals going through your nerves.
I think that when you focus CONSCIOUSLY on those electrical signals while not moving.
Then you can train yourself to consciously activate sleep paralysis.
But i think that it takes practice to be able to do that.

That tingling feeling is also called vibrations, when someone is going to astral project.
He or she mostly senses strong vibrations in the body that is the sleep paralysis when active.

But some guys think that it is some magically thing called chakras.
Maybe they are right, but until proven i stay with the theory of vibrations that are a symptom of sleep paralysis.

Maybe it was the coffee that made him able to be a bit more aware than usual.
And after entering the dream he was still more aware because the coffee is in his body.
And that it is no difference if he is focused on the physical or on the dream.
Because maybe the dream is in your body, to be exactly, in your mind.
But if that is the case then it maybe means that dreams are not in what is called focus 2.  :-P

I am gonna try drinking coffee, and try it, and report to you all.

Yes, to me it is very much a mind world that we enter upon separation.  When we are moving out, we are not really moving out because physical space is irrelevant there.  Space in the Phase is a thought like everything else, it is a different reality there.  There are some instances where we do appear to share it and they may prove telepathic one day. It is even possible that our minds are quantum entangled and thus why many OOBE visits bring validations.  It may be true that it even exists in its own right apart from the physical, who knows.  The Phase reality COULD be where we will reside when we die physically, but, Monroe had no right to state it as a fact without concrete proof.  This is where he made a mistake.

Objective vs Subjective...absolutely.  I will agree with one thing that Campbell has said though...all that is experienced, including the physica reality, is subjective.

Then we agree that until now the best explanation for this phenomana is that it is a mind world.
I think that dreams are portals to that mind world (dream world).
When whe dream we do not create that dream consciously that is why i think that we end up there unconsciously.
That is why i have the gut feeling that the mental rundown is the best technique.
Because i think that when you do a mental rundown, you are creating a dream consciously then you end up there consciously.

Until now i have trained the mental rundown for 3 days.
Every afternoon a hour and every night an hour until now.
I hope that i will get results soon.
Then maybe we can talk again.
To have a high value conversation by sharing my results with you.

we all have our own personal physical body.
but we share the physical world together.

we all have our own personal mind.
maybe there is a mind world that we share together.

i want to tell you why i think that this technique will work.
it is something that i actually wanted to forget in the past.
but now i am an adult and i do not fear those childhood memories anymore.

i originate from morocco, but i am made in holland  :-P
but always when i sleep in my house in holland i get normal dreams.
but when i sleep in morocco when on holidays i always don't feel comfortable in that house that we have there.
while my parents were sleeping i was still in my bed with eyes open because i could not fall asleep i was afraid of something.
then i think if i remember correct that my eyes closed on their own for a second after being in bed awake for more than a hour without moving. then after they closed on their own i opened them quickly because i was afraid. then i would stand up and move and everything in the room was the same. the only difference is that there were two creatures but they never hurted me. they only wanted to scare me i guess and they were always smiling but never hurted me. i think that i phased to the RTZ.

i think that this technique is natural to everyone.
when people were living in the nature they did not directly close their eyes when going to sleep in the bushes because it was dangerous. so they kept their eyes open until they closed on their own and then again they opened them because they noticed it. and kept repeating this opening their eyes when they closed on their own. until they reached the moment of falling asleep. then automatically their eyes opened again. but now they were in their energybody in the RTZ.

and i guess that the reason that you directly are back in your body when you get scared is because it is a defence mechanism. not directly to protect you against spirits. but against predator animals on the physical. i think that that is the reason why your senses on the physical do not shut of completely.

And every two years when we went to morocco i got the same dreams almost every night.
i think that the fear made me to constantly open my eyes when they closed.
that way the fear of something had the same effect as being afraid of predator animals in the bush.
and that made me phase  i guess.

Lately i am really spending much time in experimenting with techniques.
And i have made some progress.
And to tell you the truth mostly the progress is discovered by luck.

But back to the technique that i want to explain now.

Just lay down on your back in your bed and do not move.
It is not problem if you constantly have to swallow as long as you do not move.
But if you move it is not a real big problem as long as the moving is very minimal.

Now the core of the technique.
When you are laying down on your back without moving.
You must keep your physical eyes open.
It is not a problem if you blink with your eyes and move your eyes to watch to your room.
But try to not move your eyes too much but if your eyes move it is no problem.
That is the core of the technique. to keep your physical eyes open !

Then what happened until now for me is that my body will start to feel heavy.
And i start to feel tinglings in my body. In my legs and arms and torso and head etc..
It all happens automatically you do not have to focus on your energybody.
You will feel so heavy that you will notice it even if you do not want to notice it.

But now i think that the trick is not in getting a heavy body.
But in keeping your physical eyes open !
The first 30 minutes it is no problem but after that your eyes sometimes will close on their own.
Then you will notice and say he my eyes are closed and then you open them again etc.
And after a while you will feel tinglings on your throat where your adams apple is.
Then the tinglings at your throat will change. it will be like your throat has become bigger.
And as if there is a swirling wind at your throat. maybe that is what they mean when they say that chakras swirl.

You can do this when it is dark but also when it is light. That is no problem.
But if you have ear plugs put them in.

Until now i did not achieve astral projection with it.
But it gave me much sensations. i thought if i post it maybe someone else can build further on this alone or together with me.

Yes, I think the mental rundown is an excellent technique. It isn't too complicated like some techniques, because it's just daydreaming, and using your imagination. It can actually be quite fun depending on what you are creating. It's a great technique for people who have a good imagination. I suppose it's even more effective because most people daydream every day so they will be quite familiar with it.

I haven't had much success with rundowns, as I've only recently been properly getting into practicing it but it's definitely helping me out of a 'dry spell' I've been in recently.

Heh, dancing eh? I might have to try that some time. Good luck!  :-D

Yes, dancing.  :-P
For me it is about trying to feel comfortable and fluid when moving. It should go smooth.
Sometimes i think about Jack Sparrow from the movie pirates of the carriebien.
He is also someone who jumps and runs and turns around etc..

In real live i do not dance.
Then i am cool. (cool)

I think that when we normally go to sleep we do not create the dream consciously so then when we go dreaming we are not consciously in the dream. But when we are doing mental rundown technique then we are creating the dream consciously and then we will end up consciously in the dream. and dreams are in focus 2 if i remember correct. but until now i am already trying for 2 days in a row. in both days i tried in the morning and evening and night and i am good at doing mental rundowns. mostly i do a mental rundown that i go out of my body and start moving and dancing in my bedroom while my body is in my bed.
but until now i could not make the switch. that i was really there in my mental rundown. until now it was just visualizing, imagining, daydreaming or however you wanne call it. i was not really in my mental rundown.

but i have the gutfeeling that mental rundown is the best technique. all people are very enthausiastic about it.
and in one way or the other it feels good to me this technique because it is easy for me to do.

Now people lets help each other out in this topic with the mental rundown technique. how long did it take for you before you got your first results with the mentalrundown technique ?

lets use this topic to ask questions to each other and give tips to each other.

Okay, so as many of you may know, I've been trying to project for about a year now. I have been having a thought about when I was young, after my brief period of hundreds of lucid dreams had ceased, I was drawn, as if by instinct, to a higher, more complex practice. I don't know if this was the act of projection or not. I told myself that I would lay absolutely still and focus on awareness for as long as possible. I failed a few times. I vaguely remember buzzing feelings. More recently, I've discovered something. I have this really, really high pitched ringing in my ears (or my mind's ears?) that I can focus on. It drowns out everything else for a short period of time. With practice, I've been able to extend this period of silence to about one-and-a-half seconds. I was wondering what this ringing could be? It seems not so much like a ringing, but rather a frequency. It's been with me since I was born, and other people can't seem to understand what I'm talking about when I attempt to explain it.

What do you think about this?

-Don

The moment i read the title of your topic i thought that you discovered how to astral project.

But it is just a sound almost everyone knows about that sound it is just background noise.

Plenty of topic that you can read about that sound.

I have meditated may times on that sound, nothing happened.

Try it, see if it works. There's plenty of people on the pulse who have a method of their own, or even share a method. If you'd like i can tell you mine and see if that helps you.

I get very relaxed when doing N.E.W. (energywork)
But i started a short time ago with it, maybe if i continue the relaxation becomes a trance.
Maybe it is also good for you.
But do not give up the first week because it will go slow.
But after that week the results will come very fast, at least for me.
And one last thing don't do sessions of 10 minutes etc, it is like fitness, 10 minutes is nothing.
Do at least sessions of 60 minutes.

So I'm really hopeless. I have absolutely no progress. I thought about a method that might work, so tell me what you think.
I thought about listening to moderately loud music while on bed. I still fall asleep even with music playing, but then I wake up after some time. Can I keep on doing this until I kind of know I'm waking up and try not to move and all that other stuff?

I think that is a genius idea. Really i mean it. I rarely compliment.

That when you wake up you will remember after hearing that music to not move and keep your eyes close to astral project.

What have you done that day before you went to bed to have a nap ?

Maybe something that you have eaten or an exercise has stimulated it.

The structure of the energybody and the nerves are almost identical if you ask me.

They say that the energybody exists of energy.

That is why it is called energybody.

The nerves work with electric signals if i am correct.

Then the energybody controls the nerves and gives that way signals to the brain.

Those signals that go to the brain go then to the muscles to fulfill the actions that you gave them.

Maybe you ask then what about the skeleton.

Then i guess that the skeleton is only there because the muscles are not solid.

If there were no skeleton then you would be like a snake that cant get up.

The skeleton is only to make you stand etc..

How do you people think about this question ?
#19

I think that i understand what you mean with dream awareness.

But i am not sure about it.

It is something strange that i experience.

It is like i am not aware that i am dreaming but still i am aware that i am there.

But it is only awareness and no thoughts that are made by me.

As if the thoughts are very minimal and the thoughts that are there are unconsciously generated or something.

When i do energywork in the day or before going to sleep.

Then the next day when i wake up from sleep.

I can remember my dreams much much better.

But still it is not lucid dreaming.

It is just remembering my dreams better.

And i do not use a dream journal.

A dream journal does not feel natural to me.

And today i woke up and remembered two dreams very good.

In a part of one dream i remember that i astral projected.

But i know that it was not astral projecting.

It was dreaming that i was astral projecting.

Someone experienced this story too and can tell me what i will experience next ?

The entity was just observing me from 3 meters distance.

Maybe you could say that it looked scary.

But i was not afraid and no i did not feel that it was evil or something.

I was sitting on my bed with closed eyes.
Not in a meditative way.
I was moving my arms and legs.
I was fully in my physical body and conscious.
But i had my eyes closed.
And then i could see this creature.

Do not mind the details of the painting.
It had also its right hand open and up.
And its left hand down and in a fist.
The shadow creature was 2 meters or so.

This is how i do it.

Close your eyes and watch the blackness behind closed eyes.

Then you will notice that there are patches of light in different forms.

But after that, you will notice that there are two types of patches of light.

One type of patches of light is very bright.

But this bright type appears quickly and also disappears quickly.

There is another type of patches of light that type is NOT bright but it is also not black you could say it is dark grey.

Try focus your attention on that dark grey patches of light and keep your focus on one when you have spotted it.

Then you will see it start take a forms of objects and people and whole scenes etc..  (i only succeeded in this twice)

The very bright patches of light can be seen easily you can't miss them.

But the less bright patches of light can also be seen easly but you have to focus on the blackness behind closed eyes a bit to see them.

While the very bright patches of light can be seen even if you do not focus on the blackness behind closed eyes.

This is something that i felt too. A couple weeks ago.

It was after i lay in my bed on my back.

And the only thing that i did was focus my attention on my body.

First i started with my feet then legs then hands then arms then all together.

But everytime you focus on a bodypart after a time you will feel a tingling sensation.

Some people say that it is the energy body.

But if you focus on one body part or multiple body parts at the same time for a hour or so.

Then you will get that feeling in the chest that you described.

Morning attempt 08.00
I went to bed to lay down on my back to do phasing.
The first 30 minutes of the noticing exercise there did not happen anything.
I could only see blackness and dots of light and some gray cloud things sometimes.
Then i stopped because i had other things to do.

Afternoon attempt 15.00
I went to bed to lay down on my back to do phasing.
The first 30 minutes of the noticing exercise there did not happen anything.
I could only see blackness and dots of light and some gray cloud things sometimes.
Then i stoppen because i ran out of motivation after 1 hour and 30 minutes with no result.

Night attempt 23.00
In my previous topic that i called day 1.
I told that i could see the blackness come closer.
And that the sensation of that lasted only 10 seconds or so.
And that after that another sensation came.
That was like being dizzy and moving like a cloud.
And that sensation too did not last very long.
But in this topic that i call day 2 i experienced something almost the same.
But the experience was much more strong and it did last longer.
The feeling of the blackness that was coming closer was now as if i was in the blackness.
But i do not think that it was what people call 3d blackness or the void.
I could not move freely in it.
And the feeling of the dizziness as if i was moving like a cloud with the wind was felt again.
But this time the blackness and the dizziness as if i was moving like a cloud were one feeling !!!!!
The sensation lasted about 1 or 2 minutes.
And from there on a new thing happened.
It was as if my body was tingling and i thought he maybe i can can move my astral body.
Then i tried to move without straining my muscles but i could not move.
But still when i tried to move i could feel the tingling increase.
Then that tingling feeling in my body faded away and the tingling started on my forehead.
Normally i feel on my forehead a preassure that much people here feel and they call it the third eye.
But today after i experienced the blackness and dizzyness the pressure was different.
It was as if i was not located anymore behind my eyes but as if i was located behind that spot of pressure on my forehead.
And i could not only feel there that pressure but also a tingling sensation that i actually like now that i think about it.

One last note: while meditating i felt a feeling in my right eye as if someone put a thin needle in my eye.
