Another approach to this could be to use a delay tactic instead of attempting complete suppression. The next time you find yourself in a scenario such as the one you described, say to yourself that you can come back to this scenario, but only after completing x and y (any other tasks).  This should have the effect of immediately diverting your attention away from erotic stimulation and give added incentive to complete those other ultimately more productive tasks and maybe even extend the projection time. If then after completing your other tasks the projection is terminated by a sexual encounter it's no big deal.

I've found this general approach to work best for me also. My first thought when I read about your dillemma is to decide ahead of time that when ever this happens be ready to pull a Neo and fly straight up.....and into a cool place that you've already chosen where no girls are allowed, heh, heh.

Once you've succeeded at this a few times it will probably give you a greater sense that you have options besides simply "resisting" something--which can cause a sense of struggle and is disruptive while in subjective states of consciousness. Eventually I think that if you are more comfortable because you know that you have choices it won't be so difficult to face the temptresses.

Quote from: runlolaHi Boydster, I haven't seen you in ages! How are you doing?

I'm doing great--I've be very busy at making myself resemble my avatar....heh, heh. Lots of meditation and prana science. I've discovered a lot of cool stuff in the past year. It's just hard to find time to read or write. I also work 11 hours a day and have small children who like to see me once in a while. Interesting life.

I have a catholic exorcist book here somewhere, I think the
demons are cast out and sent to hell or their point of origin.

Don't knock yourself out looking for it. I was curious---I've seen situations where entities were kicked out but then came right back in when the cop isn't around.

It was an interesting read--about the priest. Thanks for sharing it.

I've never read the details about the Catholic rituals. I wonder if this type of exorcism casts out the demon and then kind of stops there--

I've been taught to ask the angels to haul the demons away to places where they can't interact with those in embodiment. These are prison-like areas which are at a very low vibrating segment of the astral plane.

Hey Runlola, hows it going?

Quote from: NickJWwhat are these books about, I just want to know how they relate to my question.

These books can be found for a few dollars at used book stores anywhere.

They relate directly to how real people gain powers such as your describe (as opposed to cartoon fantasies).

If it's too much of a bother to you to find and read a few of these books, then you don't have nearly enough ambition to actually get anywhere.

Quote from: XenXhengIt seems to me that psychic abilities, chakra strengthening, clairvoyance, remote viewing, astral projection and just about every other paranormal ability relies on one key factor above all others: the control of energy.

But here's my question... what would be the best way to gain control of energy, to not only feel its flow but to also be able to determine where it goes and what it does?

Using NEW, I can cause very ticklish tingling up and down my spine and make my legs buzz quite a bit by imagining energy flowing up and down my body... I think that may be on the right track.  But there is a big jump from tingling to psyballs and ESP, doncha think?

Thanks for any input,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I think the control of energy, and actually, the mastery of all aspects of self are important in this type of quest. But I'd would like to volunteer that in my opinion, the single greatest factor in garnering the powers you mention is the integration of the soul (the lower self) with the Higher Self.

The more attunement and integration we can get with our Higher Self, the more energy and psychic abilities we will be trusted with.

I don't think it takes 100's of years at all. It just takes a serious commitment to self improvement.

I don't believe that the universe yields up her greater mysteries and powers to those who merely wish for them. And they aren't given to those who could not be trusted to refrain from misusing them. There are higher powers and abilities than even cartoon characters have which are given to people here on earth. But they are not for fun or ego stroking; they are bequethed to those who earn them via service to life and by proving themselves harmless.

If this topic really does excite you, then do as Nostic says, don't expect much from cartoons--read some serious books. I've personally read Autobiography of a Yogi at least 6 times. Some other books that you might find useful are Brother of the Third Degree and A Dweller on Two Planets, both occult classics and very compelling reading.

I can also highly recommend anything from Theosophy written by C.W. Leadbeater--especially The Chakras, The Masters and the Path and Man: Whence, How & Whither.

Quote from: AlisonHi Boydster,

I think that getting rid of this huge storage of negative energy in my body may take time, but I can feel it leaving bit by bit.

Do you or anyone have anything to recommend for speeding up the process as far as that's concerned?

I've had great deal of success at ridding myself of astral effluvia with daily 15 minute meditations comprised of the following:

Visualize yourself as surrounded and saturated by pink, white and violet flames (spiritual flames--a high frequency of light energy) such as the following image:

While visualizing this, say out loud (over and over) with great conviction, "I am a being of love and forgiveness". While doing this try to couple the visualization, which is a mental activity, to a strong feeling of the light and fire passing up through your body and aura. Try to engage your feeling of the highest conception of love and forgiveness that you can.

This frequency of spiritual light/fire is very good at dissolving and transmuting congealed substance of emotional pain and other astral effluvia.

As you mentioned, it takes time to build a momentum on something new and to overcome old momentums. Good luck!!

To me it feel like spinning a chakra the wrong way causes the energy stored there to spew out. It makes it feel like a forced leak or an out-sucking sensation.

I need all the energy I can get so I avoid doing it the "wrong" way. I've also noticed that loud rock music makes some of my chakras spin backwards and sucks energy out of them. It feels exhilarating while it's happening. But it is a net loss which is discernible and substantial. I avoid it for that reason. Some recreational drugs seem to do the same thing. I have less experience there though.

It sounds like your roommate tied into this emotional pollution by reading the email and putting her attention on the disturbed person. By sympathy, she pulled some of that burden into herself. Then, in the act of conveying the message of pain to you, and your placing your attention and sympathy on the roommate, you pulled some into yourself as well.

Then you discovered that it's possible to throw it off with your will. If you believe that it's possible to throw off surface-type emotional burdens like this, then you can. It mostly takes faith, a little will power and visualization.

Lots of massage therapists understand this whole deal very well. During a massage session, they often absorb some of the emotional effluvia from their clients auras, especially if they feel sympathy or compassion for the clients problems. Feelings of sympathy set up a "receiving" state in a person. Many massage therapists can be seen to "throw" the energy off of themselves after the treatment with a motion which resembles flicking water from the fingertips.

I believe that it's a lot harder to do this, however, if it's your OWN emotional gunk. It sticks to you more readily and most often is only dilluted or gotten rid of by engaging some poor, sypathetic person who will sit and listen long enough for you to push it on them via a commiseration-like conversation.

I think it would be better if people would learn to take care of their own problems instead of "sharing" them. You can burn up this burdensome effluvia with meditations on divine love and forgiveness & visualizations of intense pink and violet flames passing through the body and aura.

It would be a pretty cool thing if you would try it for 6 months or so and then tell all of us if it worked.

I've tried lots of things with NEW and the gathering and manipulation of energy. I haven't regretted any of my time or effort spent.

I've noticed while rehabing houses and other property which has stood vacant for any length of time, that there are almost always some low level spooks which gravitate there. What we do to clean the place up is smudge with pine and sage, play classical music (kinda loud...) and most of all PAINT THE WHOLE INSIDES.

I'm not kidding. I feel that the most important step is to paint into oblivion all signs of prior habitation. I haven't really investigated or wondered why this is, but it works. Anyone else ever noticed this??

Also, I have had temporary situations with pets getting influenced by transient or malicious astral entities. I usually deal with it the same as I would a spook bothering my kids. I blast it out with lightning bolts and a pervasive, menacing intent.

I've had more of this type of issue with cats as pets than with dogs. Anyone else comment??

Hi Kathy,

The area you mention is one of the most common places on our bodies for discarnate entities to attach and feed. You mention that you have a hunch that it is not an astral entity. From my experience (rather substantial...) there is no harm in assuming that it is an astral entity and taking action to rid yourself of it.

Believe me, these things will communicate with you and try to make things as favorable as possible for themselves. They will even masquerade as guides. I hope this makes sense....if it is not an attached discarnate entity, you will be doing no harm to yourself or a real guide if you take measures to rid yourself of this very noticeable thing. You're not likely to rid yourself of a real guide by trying to rid yourself of parasitic entities.

I've worked with NEW for about 1.5 years and talked to a lot of other people who use it. And I've never heard of something like you describe as being an energy body development issue. I would suggest continuing with your NEW practice and in parallel, work on ridding yourself of all attachments by astral entities. Almost everyone has them at one point or another--it's pretty common.

Once you get yourself clear, remember what it feels like and then you'll have a good frame of reference for future checks. I don't believe that true "guides" speak to us very frequently. Frequent chatter in ones head is more likely to be lower astral beings who have relatively little to offer us except for what is in THEIR own best interest.

What is it that you're referring to as the "sex" chakra? Pardon my ignorance, but I'm familiar with a different set of nomenclature. My frame of reference for the major chakras along the spine is as follows:

Lowest chakra=Root or Base
Next up=Spleen
Next up=Solar Plexus
Next up=Heart
Next up=Throat
Next up=Brow or Third Eye
Next up=Crown

I've read some literature which suggests that an activated spleen chakra is the precursor to consious OBE's. This is from Theosophy.

I haven't tried your method, and it may work great. But it seems as though erotic activities may be too exciting and counter to the need for complete relaxation (mind awake, body asleep) which most people see as necessary for successful, consistent OBE's. Let us know how it works....

Quote from: NealCIve been thinking.....

Is it necessary to use your breath to move energy around the body or is it just as effective to use your mind and sense of feeling alone.

Im into my 3rd week and find that sometimes when doing the energy raising, i have inhaled a full breath before i have feelings of energy arriving at my head. This doesnt allow for a natural breathing pattern.

I can do it fine if just feeling my way around with the mind alone.

Any thoughts??

I agree with Andoni--it's not necessary to link energy gathering to breath.

I think it's a good place to start when you're just beginning though. As RB says,"there is a natural link between the action of energy intake and physical breathing" (paraphrased because I'm too lazy to look it up).

But I'd be the first one to say it's a good idea to train yourself to absorb and circulate energy without the benefit of the breath. The most intense energy gathering I've ever experienced was as a result of practicing  creating a "vacuum" in my gut and pulling a torrent of energy in through my legs. I pulled so hard that it created an intense burning sensation in my groin where I evidently had a constriction in the energy path.

At the other end of the spectrum, I've been practicing a lot lately with the more traditional Hindu pranayama--gathering prana with scientific breathing. One benefit of this is that it shoots a stream of energy by some critical brain parts such as the pineal and pituitary as it rushes through the nasal passages. It gives you a hell of a rush and can serve to energize these anchor points so they are more easily able to receive stimulations from their etheric counterparts, the upper chakras. In other words, it makes you more clairvoyant and psychic.

A simple version of this is as follows: Breath in through the nostrils to a slow count of 4, being sure to fill all parts of the lungs. While doing this maintain a visualization of inhaling a luminous cloud of light energy. If you don't do the visualization you will still inhale some energy but not very much. If you visualize the cloud of energy coming in to your body, the prana, which is very sensitive to our thoughts and desires, will be magnetized to us in a far greater density. When the lungs are full, hold it in for the same slow 4 count and direct the energy into the sub-naval storage site or circulate it around in your body or whatever.  Exhale to the same slow 4 count, expelling all the air completely--but not the prana. Another thing you can do here is visualize exhaling a dark cloud of metabolic waste or "stress" or something else you want to get rid of. Then hold the lungs empty for the same slow 4 count. Repeat as many times as you like. I've found that I can do this while engaged in many other activities without compromising either.

An alternate of this is to feel and visualize the prana being hijacked out of the stream of air while transiting the nasal passages so that all the energy gets pulled directly into the cranial cavity and upper chakras.

Quote from: heterYou mean you did the full body circuit for 2 hours?

No, I was just pulling energy in through my legs and directly into my sub-naval storage area. I do this all the time while watching TV.

I find that a simple motion such as energy moving in through the feet, up the legs and into the belly, when consciously practiced a for a few minutes and linked to each inbreath will become a subconscious activity which just goes on and on if you will it so. For instance, if I do this during the first 5-10 minutes of a movie, I can then relax and watch the movie with very little attention on my energy gathering--but it continues with each breath for as long as I want.

If I want to circulate energy throughout my body such as is done in the full body circuit, I have to concentrate more and it's harder to watch TV. It is good practice with concentration though, moving in and out with ones awareness.

You sound like you have the same type of experiences I had after about a month of NEW practice.

I too was a little frustrated about not being able to feel the energy all the way into the sub-naval storage center. The way I improved this was to sit and gather energy for about two hours. After the first hour I started to really notice a full, agitated feeling--kind of like, "I've gotta pee" or something. I kept going and after another hour or so I started to really get whacked out in a psychic way. My abdoman was thumping hard at a 2Hz frequency and I simply had to stop.

I found that after overdoing it to the point of really being able to feel that storage center I was able to get a handle on the pathway there and pull energy into it in a more deliberate way. I can clearly remember that feeling and I try to reproduce that feeling now in order to get fast results.

I would encourage you to stick with it and build some momentum by doing it every day. I find that if I skip some days it's a lot harder to "prime the pump" so to speak. Whereas, if I do some every day or twice a day, it's easy to get into a rapid, effective energy gathering action almost instantly, any time I need it.

Good luck!! It's worth the effort--

Quote from: Time TravelerI'm not sure if it's just me but when I start out clockwise or counter clockwise...I kind of go on auto-pilot. Once a few of my secondary chakra's get stimulated my whole body goes crazy. They all just go spinning....what ever direction they want. It feels like I have energy balls orbiting my chakra's. Also the wrapping technique thats described in Astral Dynamics happens without me willing it to...all of a sudden my limbs feel as if they are getting wrapped like a mummy.

Interesting......I think most of us had to work a little harder at it.

Another way to approach it is to try both ways. For me, one way feels right and the other way feels wrong--kind of like petting a cats fur the wrong way....

Hi Nita,

This rings very true for me also:

Quote from: Nita
The rest seems to be directed by both myself and my higher self. I have found this more effective than any chants or rituals.
  Nita

When I'm in the groove, I'm very aware of being "more than my normal self"--in congruence with my higher self. The answer to the question of what to do next or how to help this person just comes magically into ones mind as a very sophisticated and detailed engram of information which I simply understand. Then I just "agree with it" and "work with it" and very cool things happen.

I'd be the first one to admit that "I" didn't do it though. It's  more like being a willing channel for Heaven to come down and make things better here. In fact the more humble and transparent I am, the better it works.

Tayesin,

As you yourself point out, the darkness which surrounds these unfortunate ones is "about the choices they have made". I totally agree.

Further, I have found over a long period of work and experiementation that the dark material is not homogenenous. For instance, if a being consistently and primarily emits anger, then the dark material which is the result has a frequency or quality to it which is best dissolved or "antidoted" with a particular frequency and color of spiritual fire.

The main colors of fire which I have worked a lot with are:

Blue
White
Rose/Pink
Yellow
Violet
Purple
Golden/Pink
Ruby/White

Blue and white seem to me to have a tendency to shatter rigid matrices of darkness, while the others tend more to melt and dissolve it. Sometimes it's useful to alternate the shattering and dissolving when working with larger challenges.

It's really cool to find someone else who knows about this stuff.
#21
Tayesin, that was a great story!! Thanks for sharing it.

My own favorite and most effective frequency of light/flame is a rose red/pink with a brilliant white core. It seems to dissolve or transmute any density or darkness that it touches.

I have practiced using a golden ray at times also. It seems to me that it is most effective at dissolving the density of ignorance or blindness to reality.

Another frequency that works wonders is an intense, electric violet. It seems to dissolve a wide variety of dense accumulations.

These are a type of light/fire that I pull down from my higher self and causal body into my heart chakra. I discharge it from my heart, third eye and hand chakras when working.

See my avatar---using the yellow/white ray....

Try to have fun.

Take note of your progress.

Persist with daily exploration and practice.

The effort is well worth it.... :)

My experience is that if you have some practice at pulling in large amounts of energy it has a strengthening effect on the immune system.  Since I began practicing NEW about a year ago, I haven't been sick with a cold or flu once.

Also, I read once in some spiritual writings that when you have a lot of energy it radiates out of your pores and makes a kind of shield against infection.

Quote from: TyciolOy, I just realized how much this has branched off topic! Maybe something like this can be discussed in the right forum :p I tend to ramble on about that stuff, but it's not entirely related to energy bodies.

Actually, it's pretty typical here; nobody minds. If people are nice to each other and the topic wanders a little, who loses?

I don't think there is anything wrong with reading  it--I think there is a lot of hidden wisdom in the bible.

The problem with the bible is all the translating that it's gone through. And the main problem I see with organized religion is all the creative "interpretation" of the passages in the bible. I think the fundamentalist christians, in particular, have the facts pretty screwed up with their literal explanation of things. I happen to believe that there is a lot of alegory within the content which escapes some people.

I don't really read the bible much myself. I get a more concentrated version of the truth with Theosophy, Hermeticism and similar publications. It gets right to the point.
