Occasionally, I get very vivid lucid dreams where I can remember a great deal of the dream, and it is extremely vivid.
In one dream, about a year ago I was standing outside in a beautiful natural garden next to a gazebo. Sunlit rays were streaming down everywhere, and the colors were so vivid and bright. When I became lucid, I just stood for a moment and began to study the dreamscape in awe. It really is amazing how dreams are indistinguishable from real-life as far as the sensory input. As I studied my surroundings, everything began to fade into blackness, and consciousness faded out. I tend to have this problem in some of my lucid dreams once I realize I'm dreaming.
Lately, I've learned how to 'hold onto the dream' so to speak, so that I can enjoy it a little longer, but I think I have a mental barrier of sorts.
I noticed that even though I am able to stay lucid, the dream environment keeps morphing and changing all the time and I can't seem to control it very well. Its as if I have to keep intentionally forcing the dream to stay on the path I want it to, or it will 'skew' off that path onto some other tangent and I'll completely forget I'm dreaming again.
If anyone is able to add to this, or shed some light on this situation it would be appreciated
In the majority of the dreams I have, I am always flying, as if it is a natural ability that I have had forever.
